Sandy Dahl, widow to United Flight 93 pilot Jason Dahl, whose plane went down in a Pennsylvania field on 9/11, passed away from natural causes at the age of 52
The Denver Post reports that Dahl passed away in her sleep on Friday night, according to family friend David Dosch. She was best known for channeling the tragedy of her husbands death on September 11, 2001 into a campaign, which honored his memory and also instigated the Captain Jason M. Dahl Scholarship Fund for new pilots.

I watched that movie with six or seven others in a local theatre years ago. I had brought a small bottle of scotch to drink with the diet coke I purchased from the concession. My eyes are all watery now as they were at the end of the flick. I’ve had a dvd copy for years now. Can’t bring myself to play it.

She was only fifty-two; and 'apparently' in good health. Always more to a person, of course; than 'meets the eye'; but perhaps; her mission accomplished; a sadness and a need to join her husband, allowed Sandy Dahl to leave early and quietly. Whatever the case; wish her 'God speed'. No doubt; many 'Thank You's' left behind.
(Almost irrelevant to this story, which connects us again to the virtues of personal courage; sacrifice, altruism; find myself stuck on the word 'instigated' as it describes Sandy Dahl's efforts to establish a scholarship in her husbands name.)

Another fallen victim of the 9/11 tragedy.
My prayers go up to her.

Yes, that caught me, too.

Fifty-two? Hardly natural. But I imagine she was overjoyed to see her husband again. God receive Your servant.

I think they meant “initiated.” Once in a while it would be nice if writers would look at a dictionary.

I had to force myself to watch the last fifteen minutes of that movie. I say forced because the mere thought of what those poor people went through and the bravery they showed makes my hatred of Islam and Muslims burn so fierce I thought I was going to go out and do something I'd regret.
