Several weeks ago, as further information and discovery came to the surface the whole framing of the original media narrative began to crumble, I stumbled over a reference to “DXM” in Trayvon’s Facebook history.
It’s nagged at me since, at various times popping to the front of my mind when Trayvon’s drug use was mentioned, was quickly lost to other distractions. A couple of evenings ago it again came to the forefront of consideration. This time I decided to dig in, do a little research, and see if there might actually be something to it.
What I found was frankly, quite stunning. So much so that it literally made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

WOW is right. I also read through the whole article and it took a while but was worth it. It did explain why Trayvon might have jumped Zimmerman. I couldn’t understand why T would have beaten up on Z if T was high on marijuana since it makes you more passive . . . but this DMX connection explains that. I hope Zimmerman’s defense is looking into this connection thoroughly too.
I have respect for Ann Barnhardt.

Kids around here were doing this a few years ago until you had to show an ID to buy simple cough syrup. Some probably still are but since the ID law some seem to have moved back to the old faithful heroin - sigh!

Driving my daughter to school months ago, “Cough Syrup” was a popular song on Sirius Radio’s Alt Nation station. I liked the song, and finally went and researched what cough syrup meant in street slang. Still like the song though for the guitar rifts:

Neither of those things cause dissociative states as is described for excessive use of DMX. Pot, cocaine, meth and heroin don't cause dissociative states. We're talking about a state of mind that is more dangerous than any of those things normally cause.
FWIW, I’ve seen at least three or four posts from this site already and they are still here and well-commented.
There may be reason for the defense to pursue it, since the prosecution seems to be channeling DU, and DU has become obsessed about the prescription drugs Zimmerman was taking for his digestive disease.
It's common for a coroner to request a basic drug screen for a substance the deceased is known to have been using, and a more detailed broad drug screen too. The latter usually takes longer. The evidence disclosed so far had a THC test, but I didn't see a complete drug panel. Could be it just hasn't arrived yet, but if it hasn't been ordered, the coroner has retained material that could be used.
Bottom line, even if its well founded, it doesn't answer the question of whether Zimmerman feared death or serious injury, and that's the only relevant issue.
It is too late for me to look it up, but now I am curious of how much time he carried the tea and skittles until he was shot, were they even open, if so, was he nursing them a long time?
If they weren’t opened yet, was he taking them home to make a cocktail?
I don’t know if he opened his tea or Skittles but at the bottom of the article at the link they give the time of 53 minutes from the time he left the 7-11 to the time he was shot. 53 minutes to travel .6 miles.

I had a confrontation the other night. The guy was a peckerhead, I was armed but he had no idea.
No one was harmed we talked it out.
I guarantee zimmerman was not escalating the situation. Martin was.
There was an agreement made by the DEA that if Codein was placed under increased controls that its replacement (DXM) would never be restricted in over the counter medications.

I have been in three situations that looked like they were going south fast where I was armed but they didn't know it. All three ended with them bringing it back down a notch and walking away. I think my self confidence when they expected me to be scared caused them to come to the conclusion that I must have been armed.
It's a good feeling and a crappy feeling all at the same time. I'm just glad they had second thoughts.

I’ve had a couple of molar crowns done in gold before gold was anywhere near what it is now. It’s a rather soft smooth metal and works wonderfully for a crown. I wouldn’t get any in my front teeth thought.
