A Marine who died during World War II was laid to rest Thursday, 68 years after his family was told he was lost at sea.

I am not certain that they were the greatest generation but they sure were a capable one. I was watching a program where they were restoring a Sherman Tank.
Changing engines took them a couple of days. After they finished one of the guys said he could hardly believe that during WWII they would change them out in the field in two hours.
