The Mainstreaming Of Mendacity
Free Republic Editorials | 5/23/2012 | By Laz A. Mataz

Imagine you had a watchdog. Imagine, further, that it would only bark at and attack female burglars and male burglars would get only a sad look and perhaps a submissive lick or two. This watchdog would not be a very useful guardian, would it? Your house or store would soon end up completely ransacked.

This is the situation America faces, with the selective watchdog -- the so-called 'mainstream media' -- that we presently have.

When I was very young, and television sets had mechanical channel changers, I lived in a place (Rochester, New York) where the three major network channels where in close proximity to one another. One day I happened to notice that the three national news broadcasts had the exact same segments at the exact same time. This fascinated me. I verified over the next few weeks that this was not a fluke, but a constant practice. I even made a game of trying to get the anchors to complete each other's sentences by rapidly flipping the channels. While my mother would occasionally notice, and yell at me for 'breaking the TV set', I sometimes actually -- scarily -- succeeded. This gave lie to the publicized prevarication that we had a free and independent press. Even as naive youth, I quickly saw behind the curtain. The press was free, but they chose to collude and present the exact same message to the public. Your only choice was who would give you a homogenized message and uniform message.

The press and the 'mainstream media' often craft their message by what they refuse to report. Like a watchdog that refuses to bark at a certain type of burglar, this allows a class of politicians -- in this case, Democrats -- to ransack the House Politick unimpeded.

Let's look at a few of the glaring omissions in the reporting of the JournOlist Caste:

This is mendacity, and it is mainstreamed. It is institutional.

We have self-described watchdogs whose barks and bites only seem to be visited upon one type of burglar. The other type is free to act, with our watchdog's blessing.

Sorry. That dog won't hunt.

The problems with our mainstream press go further than protecting the Kenyan and his blatant failures.

I look at how the press ignores the real issues of racism in America. When two white reporters get assaulted by black thugs in a true racially motivated hate crime, yet their own paper won't report it; then something is seriously wrong.

Wait. I take that back. The press doesn't always ignore racial issues. Sometimes they EXACERBATE and INFLAME racial tensions. See any coverage of Trayvon Martin for example. Where an innocent little boy was assassinated by racist George Zimmerman.

America has lost our voice. When the press is in bed with liberalism to such a sad degree, we have truly abandoned our rights to a Free Press. But there's hope. Look at Pravda. Once a tool of the Communist government; once a state run media - now is a Free Press indeed!

Maybe some day America can be so lucky.

>>I’m doing it right.

I know you are- I wasn’t criticizing your spelling or word usage.

The not-a-run-on-sentence made me dizzy, though. :-)

Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

"It’s no longer “the media” ... it’s the Ministry of Truth."

Someone needs to 'Do an Alinsky' on the Networks' main newsreaders. Are you telling me that young Poppywhatisname on ABC, Canadian Brian on NBC and Whoever on CBS (does anyone watch that channel?) have no embarrassing moments that they want to keep quiet? They think that they are Demigods in the thrall of the Chief God, The Won, the only True God Obozo. Let's expose them and take them out of contention.

Fast and Furious.....Catholic church suing the administration.....

With the ability to manipulate and cover up to this degree, I question whether we can ever have another honest election in this country. I really doubt it.

My mother used to work next to the courthouse, in a medium-sized town in Maine.

What you witnessed, she said was a matter of routine. And this was 25-30 years ago.

The more things change......

Good post. Maybe we were neighbors - I grew up in Rochester, NY too. City until '62, then Henrietta. Remember both the knobs 9even "autotuners" just turned the knob with the same clicking action) and we had a motorized antenna on the roof with the direction control dial to point it in the best direction. In the '50s we had 2 channles (5 and 10). Then a third was added (13?). 9PM news channel was picked by who you wanted to hear spew it at you ("Goodnight David/Goodnight Chet).

So where are the guillotines? ... In a figurative way, what have we the people that can 'lop off their heads', end their reign of lies and mass manipulations? I see no class action suits brought against a network that purposely portrays an Hispanic man as a racist when he shoots an attacker in self defense; there seems to be no response of means to address a network which fakes photographs and manipulates 911 tapes; the media is rewarded with huge advertising contracts for their work to defend and float any lie they see as support for their socialist ideologies.

As you popint out, it is mendacious to be so propaganda oriented. But how do we the people guillotine such bravery of liars?

Remember when you had to switch between UHF and VFH? Heh. I did the exact same thing as a kid, Laz. It really was uncanny how often you could make them finish each others’ sentences.

There is clearly an orchestrated narrative and there are clearly a mass of hypnotized zombies who accept said narrative without question.

Dirty Laundry by Don Henley

I make my living off the Evening News
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry

Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don’t have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who comes on at five
She can tell you ‘bout the plane crash with a gleam in her eye
It’s interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry

You don’t really need to find out what’s going on
You don’t really want to know just how far it’s gone
Just leave well enough love
Eat your dirty laundry

Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody’s pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry

We can do “The Innuendo”
We can dance and sing
When it’s said and done we haven’t told you a thing
We all know that Crap is King
Give us dirty laundry

[Chorus]
Kick ‘em when they’re up Kick ‘em when they’re down Kick ‘em when they’re up Kick ‘em when they’re down Kick ‘em when they’re up Kick ‘em when they’re down Kick ‘em when they’re up Kick ‘em all around

In a similar vein, four members of the local Peace and Justice Center and Occupy Bangor showed up to ruin the recent Colby College graduation ceremony by (once again) making asses of themselves because Tony Blair was the guest speaker.

These two fine organizations, consisting of about 15 local moonbats, are routinely given front-page coverage every time they venture outside to dump their special brand of effluvia on normal people.

The fossil who got arrested (attention whore Lawrence Reichard) was actually accorded the honor by the Bangor Daily News of writing a lengthy column to drone on about his obvious moral superiority and gutsiness.

For some reason, I was prohibited from commenting at the site when I pointed out the violent, dark underbelly of the left. Go figure.

Did you read the article yesterday at Breitbart about using the media’s own rules against them? It was good. It could be a place to start. We can dig up their personal dirty laundry and expose their private lives.

Great analogy of the press to a watch dog sleeping on the job. We are getting robbed blind - of our treasure and freedom - because they are not educated to do their jobs as an important part of the Republic.
