Obama is not that bright
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | Jack Kelly | May 20, 2012

Mr. Obama went to Harvard, but so did George W. Bush, who some liberals consider dumber than dirt. The president won't release his transcripts, so we can't judge by his grades. Mr. Obama was president of the Harvard Law Review, but when he was selected, popularity mattered more than scholarship.

Mr. Obama joined an undistinguished law firm, where he tried no cases.

He often rambles when he speaks without a teleprompter.

Mr. Obama has said a lot of unsmart things: there are 57 states; Canada has a president; "Austrian" is a language; America is "20 centuries" old; Arabic is spoken in Afghanistan. He's called the Falkland Islands (Malvinas) the Maldives, and declared it would be "unprecedented" for the Supreme Court to invalidate a law passed by Congress.

President Obama's stimulus bill didn't stimulate. His subsidies to "green" firms have produced neither the jobs nor the energy he promised. Unemployment on his watch peaked at 10 percent, one of the highest rates since the Great Depression. Deficits are out of control.

"The man who promised everything is delivering nothing," wrote Noemie Emery in the Weekly Standard. "Journalists who wept when he won the election now grind their teeth in despair. ... The gap between sizzle and steak never seemed so large."

Could it be that Mr. Obama's "superior intellect" is a myth created by journalists to mask what may be the thinnest resume of anyone ever elected president?

"I spent some time with the highest tenured faculty member at Chicago Law a few months back," Mr. Ross wrote in March 2010. "According to my professor friend, [Obama] had the lowest intellectual capacity in the building. ... The other professors hated him because he was lazy, unqualified,"

O was not wrong. There are 57 “states” (including terrorist organizations and states and states which sponsor terrorist organizations) in the Islamic/Arab League.
Where did you think he got 57 from?
It wasn’t from a mustard bottle

He doesn’t HAVE to be “that bright”.

He just has to be smarter than all the morons who voted him into office.

He is lazy. Lazy people don’t excel at anything. He is a puppet. Everything about him is superficial—all about looks and appearances. He is being fed everything....but he is a Marxist. People who fall for the fraud of Marxist ideology are intellectually lazy. They accept all the Big Lies and don’t use reason and logic. It is all irrational and immoral.

“Racist” isn’t used until the third comment under the article...

At a corporation I worked at an incredibly stupid manager was spoken well of by his peers- as they walked all over him.
Just like Pelosi and Reid did to Barry for two years.

Joe Biden’s performance of looking stupider than Obama is just amazing.

Yes, as we've observed on FR since first he was nominated, 0bama is definitely not the intellectual his sycophants hoped to present him as. Carrying a book by Niebuhr for the cameras is not the same thing as actually reading it. In simple point of fact, he has not one single accomplishment, not one publication, not one achievement, that could lead any disinterested observer to the conclusion that he was any brighter than the average undergraduate.

He is, however, an uncommonly clever man who has been able to identify and ride a wave of white guilt and black racial animosity to a career in politics. The structure of left-wing academic fashion that made this possible is not one of America's finer intellectual products, but one must concede the cunning of a young man who was able to identify and exploit it all the way to the highest political office in the land. Do not underestimate this individual. The instrument he has learned to play is a loud and powerful one. It might yet serenade him to another four years of office.

It is not only America, but a depressing majority of the Western world, that worships celebrity, which has conferred an inordinate amount of power to the shapers of celebrity; indeed, to be a shaper of celebrity is, in the United States, far more rewarding than to be a shaper of merit. One sees this in celebrity professors who seldom have condescended to teach a class - Cornel West, Noam Chomsky, are you reading this? - and in celebrity media figures who seldom have condescended to research a story themselves - Dan Rather, are you reading? It culminated in the stunning reward of the Nobel Peace Prize to a celebrity whose actual accomplishments accounted for absolutely nothing. Celebrity is not the reward of merit, but its deadly enemy.

Celebrity is, however, both a measure of secular deity and the currency that is placed on its reeking altar. That, I am afraid, is the major failure of Western culture to accommodate itself to modern communications technologies. It may be a fatal one.
