A uniformed NYPD sergeant was caught on video unleashing a vulgar tirade against a group of Brooklyn men threatening them with his gun even while condoning their criminal behavior, The Post has learned.

If a cop doesn’t have enough self control to keep his speech on a professional level, he shouldn’t be a cop.
Sometimes it’s best not to know how the sausage is made.
Time was, when the most professional, efficient and courteous people were officers.
Now, they are the dregs of society... who watch TOOOOOO much TV!
Cops deal with some pretty rough people. Sometimes those people don’t always respond to “please” and “thank you.”
Frankly, I’d be a lot more worried if it was the punks talking to the cop this way....and him taking it.
Up to no good if you ask me.
Many sociopaths are attracted to law enforcement.
Is anyone even slightly surprised by this?
Some people just sould not be in law enforcement.
This guy is one of them.
Some people just should not be in law enforcement.
This guy is one of them.
I'm only surprised none of these guys in the story got wacked. People were hit for no reason in every such encounter I witnessed. Yes, a few times there were some seemingly good cops at the scene but none of them said a word about it.
Remember, if you are alone with them, cops can do anything they want and completely lie about everything later. “It's not what you know, it's what you can prove later.” Don't go whip out a copy of the constitution and start yelling if they do something obviously illegal. If you question their authority, they will likely hit you and make up some additional charges if they know they can get away with it. I knew a cop that carried a small snub-nose dropgun in a sock just in case he wanted to shoot someone. How far we have fallen...
I’m retired NYPD, and, as you would imagine, there are knuckleheads in every line of work. Unfortunately, those are the ones that usually get you hurt because they are simply not focused. When I was on the job, there were appx. 38,000 officers. If 5% are knuckleheads, that’s almost 2000 of them and they make it much tougher for the truly dedicated, sharp, professional officers to do their jobs effectively.
I go back to the days when most of the cops were honest behaved Irish, Jewish, Italian and war vets. Wha Happened Brooklyn? I guess I should Forgetaboutit. And this was Bensonhurst? I thought the Mob made that place peaceful and “crime free” ?????
Dealing with dirtbags all day doesn't give one the right to treat everyone like dirtbags.
Thanks AtlasStalled. I didn’t check — more Amish?
Whenever there’s a story involving police and i post about NYC cops there are always a bunch of posters waving a flag in my face. I am from NYC and still live here. I can tell you they are in it for themselves and truly believe they are the law and above it. Its a culture. I can’t think the bigger police forces around the country are much different.
Not sure when you retired but i’m 57 and grew up in Manhattan and live in Brooklyn. Today’s officers are nothing like the ones we had in the 60’s and 70’s. I understand the number of knuckleheads ( a very kind word) isn’t 50% but today its over 5%. Anyone that stands by while a fellow officer is doing the wrong thing qualifies.
We passed the Mendoza line a while back; about 75% are now just another street gang and it pains me to say so.
Bathhouse Barry is planning a secluded beer summit with this stupidly acting cop.
I’m a retired Sergeant from New York State DOCS. We had our knuckleheads too, and once word got out among the staff, no one wanted to work alongside them. Why make your shift any harder than it has to be? I hated it when I was assigned to supervise the areas one of these guys worked in, because I knew, before the shift was over, I’d be called to respond to a problem they had more than likely created.
what a pig
I know it is not most cops who are like this. The good cops need to gang up on the knuckleheads and remove them from their ranks. Now more than ever.
Now, they are the dregs of society... who watch TOOOOOO much TV!
That’s funny. Maybe new police officers should have to pledge to not watch cop shows.
