Mitt Romney, Servant of the Right (view from the left -- for entertainment purposes only)

Those who believe the former Massachusetts governor would become a moderate once in office are wrong.

...conservatives aren't thrilled with Romney, even as they prepare to support him. But they aren't objecting to a marriage of convenience. Grover Norquist, founder of the anti-tax Americans for Tax Reform, explained Romney's acceptability in his speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in February. "We just need a president who can sign the legislation that the Republican House and Senate pass," he said.

Romney's agenda mirrors that of House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, the Ayn Rand acolyte and anti-tax crusader from Wisconsin who, over the past two years, has crafted the blueprint for Republican domestic policy. "As president," Romney has said, "I look forward to working with Chairman Ryan and his House Republican colleagues to pass bold reforms that restore America's promise."

On the tax side, Romney promises a litany of tax reductions, beginning with a permanent extension of the George W. Bush tax cuts.

You didn’t get it, did you?

I found it amusing that the left is so desperate they are trying to paint Romney as a far right-winger.

They must be terrified that most people, including moderate Dems will find Romney moderate enough, while finding Obama extreme leftist, that they will actually vote for Romney and Obama gets defeated.

This is what everyone should keep in mind: Romney is a middle-of-the-roader, while Obama is a far-leftist, intent on destroying the US as we know it. Obama is working hard on income redistribution, and total government control over individuals, which IS communism, even though he doesn’t call it that. When it walks like a duck and all that.

“They must be terrified that most people, including moderate Dems will find Romney moderate enough, while finding Obama extreme leftist, that they will actually vote for Romney and Obama gets defeated.”

That about sums it up. There is one moderate in the race and it is Mittems. That that fact will get out terrifies the dims. What also has the dems worried is Romney’s 87% approval rating among GOP voters which shows only the fringe contrarians are planning on sitting this one out.

Getting the kenyan out of the White House is all that matters right now and nearly everyone sees that.

Romney is not even conservative enough to be called a moderate. I judge these people based on their records.

“It’s really curious that Romney is hated just as much by some folks here as he is over at DUmmieLand.”

Not really, given that he has espoused both sides of so many issues.

You didn’t get it, did you?

au contraire mon fraire, I did indeed 'get it'. You are among the many deluded souls who have deliberately chosen to shove Mitt-Witt's record as Governor of Assachusetts down the memory hole, ignore his past statements and proclamations, all because he "isn't 0bama".

Give your head a shake. America is on the road to ruin due to a Marxist ideologue in the White House, pouring socialism down our throats. Even IF by some miraculous development, we were to see President-elect Romney taking the Oath of Office on 20 January 2013, we will still be force fed that bottle of socialism, except it will be served up in stylish crystal goblets as befits someone of his stature and breeding.

Romney is the nominee this time around because the GOP elites determined early on that it was "his turn", just like McStain got his "turn" in '08, and Dole got his "turn" in '96.

Our choice is between having the fangs of a Brown Recluse sinking into our flesh, or that of a Black Widow.

Go on, stick your hand in there and find out for yourself.

When it comes to Mitt Romney, three principles need to be kept in mind: 1) Mitt Romney will say anything to get elected, 2) if you’re inclined to believe what he says, remember principle #1, and 3) actions speak louder than words.

If you don’t want to vote for Romney Fine. But get your butt to the polls because there are a lot of conservatives that we need to vote for.

Needs to be repeated and often.

We need a repeat of 2010 in the House and Senate. It gives new meaning to the term *house cleaning*.

- Several years ago on a Free Republic sidebar internal poll 15% picked Hillary Clinton as their own personal choice to be the next US President.....

Can you spot the stealthy FReepers on this Free Republic thread that were among the 15% of those sleepers that picked Hillary?

Romney is playing NOT TO LOSE. Football or Politics, playing NOT TO LOSE rarely produces a victory.

BTW, McCain played NOT TO LOSE in 2008. Nuff said.

It is a false assumption that Romney will beat Obama.

Romney is playing NOT TO LOSE.

Football or Politics, playing NOT TO LOSE rarely produces a victory.

It is time to DUMP ROMNEY, as he is clueless on how to beat Obama.

BTW, McCain played NOT TO LOSE in 2008. Nuff said.
