It’s them darn aliens from outer space again. They hide from us all day but conveniently turn on their running lights when they fly around a night.

So, it should be light instead of lights and that light would be a model airplane. Bet the guy is having a good laugh over it.

Odd that there would be a local news article about "lights" in Lubbock...without referring to the Lubbock Lights of Aug-Sept 1951.

If they don't turn on those lights, the FAA gets huffy. The feds will hunt them down even if they are from Theta Reticuli.

How many bars of Gold-pressed Latinum are we talking about?

The Marfa Lights are fascinating. I watched them once on a trip to Texas.

My brother and law and I would do the same kind of thing in Amarillo. We used large helium ballons and colored lights. Take the whole rig outside of town, launch it, and let the wind carry the whole shebang back over town. There would be hundreds of UFO calls from all over town. They would probably arrest us if we did something like that now....red

When I was younger and more mischievous, I would have installed flashing lights on model rockets and launched them at night.

We stopped there to watch the Marfa Lights too. I never expected to see anything but when we got there they were out in full force. Moving around, disappearing and then coming back to divide into 3 or 4 lights before disappearing again. It was a great experience.

I saw Bailiey’s Light in Brazoria County Texas as well. I lived there for 16 years and only saw it once. Bailey's Light is supposed to be swamp gas and there are swampy areas in that area. I can't imagine any swamps in the Marfa area. The 2 mystery lights acted very different and I don't have an opinion about what they really are.

Hmmm. I don’t think I can do it justice, but he’s the guy on the Ancient Aliens series on the History Channel. Every accomplishment the hu-man race made before Greece and Rome was done by aliens, including genetic engineering hu-mans in the first place!

I pulled a prank in Abilene Texas back in 1972. I attached a small battery to the center of a kite and ran a wire to a light bulb at the end of the tail. I launched the kite from a dark field next to a busy road and got it up several hundred feet. As the kite danced on the breeze, all you could see was the light itself. Dozens of cars pulled over to the side of the road as people watched the UFO. No one ever caught on.
