The Obama administration “strongly objects” to provisions in a House defense authorization bill that would prohibit the use of military property for same-sex “marriage or marriage-like” ceremonies, and protect military chaplains from negative repercussions for refusing to act against their consciences, as, for example, in being ordered to perform a same-sex marriage ceremony.
In a policy statement released Wednesday, the White House Office of Management and Budget outlined numerous objections to aspects of the fiscal year 2013 National Defense Authorization Bill (H.R. 4310). The bill was reported out of the House Armed Services Committee last week and is set to be debated in the House, beginning Wednesday.
Overall, it recommends that President Obama veto H.R. 4310 if its cumulative effects “impede the ability of the Administration to execute the new defense strategy and to properly direct scarce resources.”
The veto warning is not specifically linked to the two provisions dealing with marriage, but they are listed among parts of the bill which the administration finds objectionable.
The memo said the two provisions “adopt unnecessary and ill-advised policies that would inhibit the ability of same-sex couples to marry or enter a recognized relationship under State law.”

I assume a military chaplain is subject to whatever rules (or stupid rules) that come from up the chain of command. Including the retard-in-chief.
If so, once again we have Obama waging a war on Christians. We’re apparently supposed to set aside beliefs (i.e. abortion is wrong, same sex marriage is wrong, etc.) because that’s what President Urkel wants. How about he just out himself as a muslim and a commie and get it over with? At this point there wouldn’t be any shock value, we already know it.

They are NOT going to force Catholic and Jewish Chaplains to perform these ceremonies.
Any Catholic or Jewish Chaplain who performs such an act is automatically giving up his religion.
What they are going to do is force all catholic and Jewish Chaplains, and any other Chaplain who is loyal to the Bible out of the military completely.
That is the purpose of this.

By the time I graduated with my doctorate, I no longer wanted to be a chaplain. I could read the handwriting on the wall. I know me: my mouth...my uncompromising nature...and I knew what was coming. I'm still enlisted and it was the best decision I ever made.

A Chaplain cannot be so ordered. It would be an illegal order. Chaplains already are required to be full representatives of their denomination, that is, their endorsing faith group.
It is illegal to obey an illegal order.
I speak as a retired chaplain.
Beyond that, this really is an issue of God's place in the life of any chaplain. Religious liberty is a RIGHT granted by God. No UCMJ, Congress, President, or superior officer can take it away.
Therefore, even if this were to be instituted as law, it would still be illegal in the eyes of God and must be opposed by any chaplain.
Quite frankly, if we have to shut most of the military down in order to avoid sodomizing it completely, this is the honorable thing to do.
We can get it going strong again when we have some measure of sanity restored to government.
This is, first and foremost, the Military, where you give up a large measure of your rights when you sign up. If something isn't specifically forbidden by military code, it is fair game.
So yes, chaplains could be ordered by a superior office to perform a fake marriage when another willing chaplain isn't available and some activist sodomite demands it.
