Yes, talk about Jeremiah Wright, but make it part of a broader look at the racial favoritism of the Obama administration. Talk about Eric Holder and his embrace of Al Sharpton. Talk about the New Black Panthers. Talk about racial preferences for medical schools in Obamacare, and racial preferences in Dodd-Frank. Talk about double standards in “hate crimes” prosecutions.

This may be walking through a mine field. Wright is old news, and takes the focus off of Obama’s record while in office. The American voter needs to be reminded of that fact over and over. They have already elected Obama in 2008, that is when this should have been used. Bringing it up now looks like sour grapes. I agree it is what defines who Obama is but like I said he is in office, has been for 3 1/2 years you can not redo 2008.

The NY Times is trying to scare the This PAC into backing off. Notice how the article suggests any discussion of Wright and Obama’s relationship and black liberation theology is racist. Also, notice the ad plan was leaked to the NY Times by a “concerned person”.

But you are going to face a maelstrom from the press about racism. That will then become the issue which will distract from Romney’s message. So the debate will be whether Romney is racist or not. Is that what we want the focus to be on. The election is only 8 weeks long after the conventions, so do you want to throw away that time refuting allegations of racism or attack Obama on his record?
Someone on here made the good point that Americans are looking for normalcy that is what Romney needs to portray not a personal attack on Obama’s past. There is plenty to cover in 8 weeks without Wright.

Just show people out of work, the jobs lost, and Obama saying over and over how he is focused like a laser on the economy and jobs, that never appear. 5 trillion spent for what result? Show him playing golf, cozying up to Hollywood, Nobel Peace prize, its all there for the taking. We don’t need to let others determine the headlines, make your own.

Exactly, at the same time show the national debt clock racing forward as he keeps talking about balancing the budget. Show millions of stimulus dollars spent on green energy projects that create a handful of jobs. Just run a scrolling list of the boondoggles he spent billions on that went nowhere. Hit hard the fact that there are less people working now then when he took office.

Im not a huge Romney fan - but if Im advising his campaign, Id be screaming to disavow and condemn any discussions of Reverend Wright and Obama’s Islamic background - hear me out - because the left has tried the Race card with Trayvon, and failed, The Women card with contraception, and failed, the Hispanic card with Sherrif Joe, and failed, and the gay card, and failed - all as an attempt to throw tar babies that distract from discussions of Obamas failures that effect all classes of people. Blacks are walking away from him, hispanics are, stay at home moms are, and everyone who believes in heterosexual marriage are. The Catholics and Jews are. BUT - if Romney doesnt come out and say discussion of Wright and Obama’s Muslimhood is off-limits, he opens the door for the other side to have a detailed discussion of Mormanism - which spells trouble in the Bible belt (Republican Country) and would succeed where the other attempts have failed. A detailed conversation about the three levels of heaven, inheriting a planet to populate as Adam did, Joseph Smith’s origins, The book of Moroni (the egyptian book of the dead), people living on the sun, etc etc - would be DISASTEROUS. Different religions being in the Oval is one thing, and the American people have evolved enought to where they weren’t morally opposed to non-Christian (Lieberman) in the White House - but an expose on the roots of LDS would make it look more like a devout Scientologist in the White House - bad, bad, bad.
If Im advising the financier of the efforts, Id say the same - and if it MUST be discussed, break the issues out into separate ads - so that Romney can condemn the Wright piece and endorse the MASSIVE amount of information that doesnt discuss the Chicago Church or BHOs Islamic roots.

This is the key point! Why fall for a distraction? I understand the deep feelings about Obama’s past, pisses me off too, but I want him out of office.
Harp on Wright, and Obama’s past, and you are projecting the message that you don’t have anything new to give to the American public. You are just trying to win by demonizing your opponent.
Stay on message, project better economic times ahead. A majority of Americans are ready to move beyond Obama, lets give them that chance with a new hope for our country

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Obama did not attend a White House meeting Thursday with members of his own debt commission, irking some of the Democrats on the panel who were expecting a high-level push from the commander-in-chief to show that its comprehensive deficit reduction plan is being taken seriously by the White House.
“He should have at least dropped by,” one Democratic member of the debt commission told CNN, speaking on the condition of anonymity because he wanted to speak more freely about the panel’s private meeting.
