NEW YORK — Mary Richardson Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was found dead on the family’s property north of New York City on Wednesday, two years after her husband filed for divorce and following a history of drug and alcohol problems.
Kerry A. Lawrence, a lawyer who had represented Mary Kennedy in a 2010 drunk driving case, confirmed the death, but neither he nor police in the town of Bedford in Westchester County, N.Y., released a cause of death. An autopsy was scheduled Thursday, the Associated Press reported.
According to a brief statement from Bedford police, officers were called to the Kennedy home in neighboring Mount Kisco at 1:36 p.m. Wednesday “to investigate a possible unattended death.” The statement said that officers found “a deceased person inside an outbuilding” on the property and that an investigation into the cause of death was underway.
Mary Kennedy, 52, was the second wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent environmentalist and lawyer who is the third child of Ethel and the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and a nephew of President Kennedy. The couple married in April 1994, about a month after his divorce from Emily Black. They had their first child, Conor, that summer. They also had a daughter, Kyra, and two more sons, William and Aiden.
“Mary inspired our family with her kindness, her love, her gentle soul and generous spirit,” the family of Robert Kennedy said in a statement, according to the AP.
Before marrying Robert Kennedy, Richardson had been a longtime friend of his sister Kerry. The two women met at Putney, a boarding school in Vermont, and later roomed together at Brown University, according to the 1999 book “Girlfriends,” by Jayne Wexler and Lauren Cowan.

The Kennedy’s think they’re “hung”
Is it just me, or does she look like a Kennedy? God, have they had so many affairs in that family that they don’t know if they are sleeping with their own?
Entire article written by publicists for the Kennedys— every time something happens they “re-insert” the legacy of tragedy. NEVER do they ever ascribe personal responsibility for the tragedy, when facts show this to be true.
Example:
Michael Lemoyne Kennedy— runs around on new wife, with a babysitter, who is paid off to NOT bring charges.. and concomitant to the divorce from the wife as a result— then gets drunk on a ski slope and is killed (every action due to choices HE made— not some family curse— unless it is genetic stupidity).
Teddy— well there’s reams on that monstrosity.
As to RFK, Jr. - his first drug arrest is for 183 grams (!) of heroin at age 29. Heroin is not a “gateway” drug. From this he is gotten off light with community service as “a first time offender” (riiiight), and ends up running Riverkeepers (waterkeepers anti private property water rights socialists) and eventually does oil deals with marxist Cesar Chavez through Citgo (the Venezuelan state owned oil co. US subsidiary) for a large “non-profit” salary. Sweet setup. With a trust fund of his own too. Not a force for good.
The legacy is behavioural—males marry enablers.. some of the women very intelligent— and then proceed to tear them down and drive them to destruction.
Viewing this trumped up psuedo-royalty family as from an Irish gangster rumrunner legacy- a Boston Tammany gang if you will— it makes some sense. Wait for the funeral, and RFK,Jr for yet more media publicist written pablum. A “curse” indeed. And this family pushed for obama, don’t forget (the clinton’s sure haven’t).
A terrible ending for a very talented bright, and abused woman. Very sad. God rest her soul. Deo Vindice.

I read that the two youngest children were with him in LA. The two oldest were away at boarding school. He was fighting her for full custody of the children.

in the courtroom in Miami everyone was Jewish ..even the court reporter..except myself and ex wife

the judge asked her if she was really Jewish or not and my lawyer...a Jewish liberal lady whom I adored and remained friendly with for years quipped "only by insemination"
even the judge chuckled as the courtroom howled and he of course admonished my lawyer but i won the whole shebang...they looked so silly and were being really nasty in the first place
but in all seriousness one does not have to be blood related to be a member of the family..my second wife now of many years whose borne many children into my namesake family is as much one of us as any..look at Teddy's first wife Joan..another tragedy...and frankly I don't count Jackie Kennedy's life as exemplar
young widow beds shady very rough edged much older rich Greek who cheats on her from day one and then after that many years later lives outside of marriage with a wealthy consort even in front of grown kids and grandchildren..maybe they do that in Manhatan's Upper East Side but not where I come from...not without consternation

Didn’t know that - explains why he showed up about 7 hours later after the call to the police at the house in NY. And she knew she would never get her kids back. Wonder if Emily Black got to keep her two children.
