By November this will be out of the public's mind just like the Environmental Oil Disaster in the Gulf that was going to be Obama's Katrina

How many here even remember it ?

Uh oh. “Urban” (you know what that means) callers are mad at Dear Leader Obama? And over gay marriage? And if you dig beneath the surface of why they are mad about his gay marriage stance, do you think you might find its because blacks are probably the most stridently anti-gay demographic group out there. Not anti-gay marriage; anti-gay period. As in, thinking its OK to beat up and harass gay people.

One thing for sure — this definitely is not going to be an opportunity for one of those media driven “national conversations” about how blacks should learn to be more tolerant of gays.

Doesn’t matter either way. These “angry” black callers will only vote if there’s something in it for them. They support Obama because he’s a “bro”. But get out of bed to vote for him? Don’t think so.

The queer agenda might not be important to you but it is important to many here on moral grounds. I guess that doesn’t matter to you.

I listened to this earlier today, all I can say is wow...

Sounded like average Joe's and Jane's that might have pulled the lever for him the last time and won't now...

Moochelle ain't gonna be happy, remember her qoute what was it,...

"Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we're going to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation."

These folks are telling her No.....

Where do you get that? I read Biggirl's post several times. I don't see anything there that implies it doesn't matter.

It's just not going to win the election for our side. It's a distraction, when compared to the real priority. The good news is that Obumbo's cynical "evolution" is not playing well for ordinary Americans. That alone doesn't get us where we need to go.

Wake up!! The ONLY way the Gulf Oil disaster could have had legs would have required a BUSH in the White House. The plain fact is KATRINA was a commonly occurring NATURAL disaster that was made worse by the ineptness of the LOCAL government fools. It was politicized by a propaganda minded MEDIA as pinned on a “hated” president.
Be honest, and imagine the CONTINUING media coverage of the BP oil spill if Mr. Bush were still in the White House, or actually any Republican president. However, Mr. Obama resided there, so “move on folks, nothing to see or worry about”.

It's a distraction

A distraction? Really? You mean that? I guess you should read the Free Republic home page.

This country is doomed unless culturally it gets back to basics and finds its moral compass. Sound clear economic and fiscal policy will never spring forth from a cess pool of a society.

“I’m totally against it. I mean I’m born and raised in New York, my parents are from Guyana. That would never go in Guyana.”

And probably not even in Kenya. I think they hang them in Indonesia.

They may be thrid workd countries, but in some respects, they are more advanced than us.

The queer agenda matters to me a great deal on moral grounds, but not as an election campaign issue. We will never win this war in the gay media. It’s fighting a battle on the enemy’s home field, and we should never do that. We win this election on the issues of 0bama’s failed economic and fiscal policies. The gay issue is a distraction to get people’s attention away from that winning issue. I believe we should mokusatsu the gay thing.

Plus, 0bama is probably losing more support than he gains when he goes queer on us. Don’t fight him on it, let him go. Napoleon’s maxim: “Never interrupt your opponent when he is making a mistake.”

Your position is very niave, our side can walk and chew gum. The bad economic news isn't going to stop because we hang the queer agenda mantle on Obama.

I guess it is OK to step down from the moral high ground when there is an election at stake. /sarc

Of course I meant it. That's why I typed it.

I guess you should read the Free Republic home page.

I did read the Free Republic home page. I read it fourteen years ago, before I joined. I may have forgotten some of the fine points though. Why don't you enlighten me? What is on the Free Republic home page that I should know about?

This country is doomed unless culturally it gets back to basics and finds its moral compass. Sound clear economic and fiscal policy will never spring forth from a cess pool of a society.

I agree with you 100%. I also know Obama has to be defeated in the next election, and falling for this gay marriage issue is playing right in to his hands. That's why he brought it up. It's the current distraction from the economy. Next week we'll move on to another distraction.

There’s got to be some fraction of the black community that’s dubious about Obama - the continual vacations, the lavish parties, hangin’ with the high-rollers in the white business and entertainment circles, all while black unemployment and especially black youth unemployment hovers at record levels.

Those folks will be tempted to stick with him due to racial pride, but (at least among the church-going portion) the “gay marriage” decision can provide a rationale to jump ship, and either stay home or vote GOP with a clear conscience.

And if Obama loses any more than 10% of the black vote, especially with a low black turnout, he’s toast.

My point is that he’s doing a good job hanging the queer label on himself. Let him do it; he’s only hurting himself. Most people see this for what it is; not very presidential, and not the leadership we need. We aren’t pushing the queer agenda and everyone knows it. If you want to go wrestle in the mud with the pigs, go right ahead. You should know what happens when you do.

Me, I’m not naive, I’m pragmatic. I want to get rid of 0bama.
