And now on 166 XM
There are some parts of Carnegie that are nice. I always wanted to live in Rennerdale near the duck pond. There was a real nice house there a year or so ago but $300,000 IIRC. Duck pond is probably a hassle too. Used to be a cool place for a cheap date. Loaf of bread and maybe miniature golf and a burger later. Good times!
Hmmm Hankey Farms and maybe the Oakdale area too. Haven’t been there recently.
29k...why not take advantage of it?
I should have turned off the radio.
Those areas are considered to be in the suburbs. Carnegie is spotty, but I agree there are some nice areas, all out of my price range, too!
That’s making me sick. Quinn is right—if it was you or me trying to pull something like that, we’d be in an orange suit.
I guess there are different rules for illegal immigrants than there are for the rest of us.
I agree w/RWI...east end neighborhoods, not so good. Squirrel Hill is still pretty nice. I have family that lives “south” of Forbes (Greenfield side—not as up scale as “north of Forbes”) and their neighborhood still good (big houses, reasonably priced).
Oldest son lives in a rental on Mt. Washington (two blocks back from Grandview). He is thinking of buying up there (a lot of older houses) but its a noisier, younger type crowd. He is looking for a duplex to rent one side and live on other—then rent entire bldg when he can move out.
Just got to work. Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll pass it along to son and soon-to-be wife. It’s been so long since I’ve lived down that way. The tiny hamlet I lived in is still a safe area, but not an area they’d want to live in! lol!

Thanks Greg! I’ve been that way, but it’s been awhile. I seem to remember it was pretty nice area around there. Still out, but close to everything. They are still young and want to be where the action is!
I agree about Saltsburg...but a little closer in to town try Murrysville (Franklin Regional SD). A lot of McMansions...but also a lot of solid older homes that would be nice starters. From 22, Pleasant Valley Road takes you to Penn Trafford, and then Irwin/North Huntingdon (Norwin SD)—Irwin being a Tpike exit. A lot of McMansions out here...but a lot of mid century ranches & reasonably sized 2 stories.

Yes That is where I was thinking..
