Last straw? Yeah, right. Who is standing up to this unconstitutional abuse of power? Nobody. Lots of big talk on internet message boards/forums, and loudmouths like Jones crying it on the airwaves (at least where he is on the air).

Yet the crickets chirp. America, as a people, has lost its backbone. The spirit of Liberty that so filled the hearts of our founding fathers and the thousands that spilled their blood for the foundation of this nation has grown distant. My personal belief is that it is directly related to how this nation has become filled with hubris in place of the spirit of Liberty. America has grown fat on the teat of public entitlements. The majority of americans are reliant on the government in some form or another, and essentially 50% pay absolutely nothing in support of this nation.

Our borders are wide-open for illegals to come and turn cities into extensions of the 3rd World countries they came from. Criminals are slapped on the wrist for serious crimes.

“Our President” was without a doubt indoctrinated/groomed by radicals wo endorse complete communist rule. The same-said President has appointed the most corrupt cabinet (and extended via his unconstitutional “Czars”, including admitted and practicing pedophiles, tax cheats, racist anarchists, and so much more.

We have a Congress made up of men and women who identify themselves (at least outwardly) as Democrats and Republicans, yet essentially half are, at best - Liberal, and a significant portion are all-out Socialists Hell-bent on destroying this nation and all the freedoms our fathers and forefathers died for.

We live in a nation that the media is completely given-over to the same radical Socialist agenda as so many politicians.

Politicians from both so-called political parties have printed and spent so much money, there isn’t enough money in our economy at ANY taxation level to ever pay it off. Our children and grandchildren essentially are born with what is a mortgage on their future.

Each year, over 1.25 MILLION (1,250,000) babies are denied the opportunity to live RIGHT HERE IN THE US.

We are not on at least the 3rd generation that has been indoctrinated by public schools that were taken over by the Communists (with the aid of the Teachers Unions).

A court system that has systematically dismantled the US Constitution.

Last straw? Pick one. If none of the above has pushed us over the cliff - then what will? I truly believe it is too late. The horse is out of the barn. IF we think the Euro-leeches who rioted and protested over austerity were bad... wait until it happens here. Now THAT might be the “last straw”, but it might be armed leeches in the streets “taking what’s their’s”....

I couldn’t agree with you more. Outstanding post.

And, we’ve already had over a decade of acclimating the sheep to be meek, when faced by mail-room clerks in TSA. And a couple of years of teaching them to put their hands up in a position of surrender, all while being irradiated.

We’re way too far gone. I would have had some hope if say, everyone in the prison camp, I mean, airport, lines, had sat down all at once, in protest. But no, no one even wanted to take a stand there.

The leeches and moochers are quickly overtaking the few of us still working in the private sector. That’s what isn’t “fair” — that those of us who studied, worked hard, worked our way up, etc. are and will be punished.

"Who is standing up to this unconstitutional abuse of power?"

Those who will become more lean.

"America has grown fat on the teat of public entitlements."

Have fun. Enjoy the slide. Be like a willow tree.

Amen to that, I remember when Bush and his administration started pushing for all kinds of things to "fight the war on terror", and more than a few FReepers were trying to raise the alarm and say that maybe we ought to be careful about all of this homeland security crap. They, like most Conservatives, were ignored.

The result was that Bush expanded the power, size, and scope of the federal government, and then turned it over to Obama. We all knew that when all of this homeland security crap was being proposed, that it would come back to bite us in the ass and that eventually a liberal with a (D) instead of an (R) next to his name would be in the White House at some point. And then comes Obama. Obama he looks around at all that George Bush has wrought and decides he can expand the government a little more. And then somebody will come after Obama and do the same. Doesn't matter if they have an (R) or (D) next to their names, Republicans created this DHS/TSA nightmare under Bush, and they have shown they have no intentions of trying to put the genie back in the bottle. Haven't heard Republican leaders, Boehner, Romney, anybody else saying that we ought to put the brakes on and go back to a more limited government and rethink the DHS/TSA crap.

Within a few generations, our grandchildren's grandchildren will be cursing us.

That is, if they realized what we have given away.
