House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., indicated that President Obama's support for gay marriage is worth any electoral reversals that Democratic Party might sustain as a result.
"The statement that the president made was something that was the right thing to do for the country; it filled my heart with joy," Pelosi told reporters today. "We come here to do a job for the American people, not to hold a job . . . It's more important than any political consequences."

In 2004, the first 10 minutes after the polls closed all of the networks were proclaiming a victory for Kerry and saying that Bush was a one term president like his father and both of them were run out of office because it’s the economy, stupid.

It’s not about marriage. It’s about mainstreaming and institutionalizing their lifestyle. They want your children to be taught in school at the youngest ages that under the law they can marry either a man or a woman, whichever one they want. Legalization is the society saying they approve of and endorse the act. It causes a ripple effect that permeates every aspect of life. So when your little Johnny starts holding little Billy’s hand as he walks home from school, gives him a kiss good-bye and sends him Valentine’s cards, you’ll know where he learned it and why. Just imagine if the first thing you ever learned about marriage was that it’s the pairing of any two people, regardless of gender. I can only imagine how confused this would make and what an influence this would have on people who are pre-pubescent and don’t even understand sexual feelings yet.

I explain it in this manner: there is no real difference between Obama and Romny, just as there is no real difference between the Republican- and Democrat-party.
The Republicans CLAIM to be the opposition party; but how much opposition have they given? Consider Fast and furious, which is a slam-dunk of a case: an agency committing unauthorized acts of war against another nation. Or Obamacare, patently contraconstitutional. Or, even the eligibility issue and the all-branches of government refusal to even investigate. Those are just during this administration.
The lack of opposition goes back even further. When was the last time that a government agency was dissolved? (No, renamings and ‘restructuring’ to be a part of another agency don’t count.) When was the last time the Republican Party pushed for an overturning of Roe v. Wade? Not in my political lifetime.
