Early election results are in for some of the biggest races in the North Carolina primary.
Live Updates, Live Video: N.C. primary coverage Track the WXII12.com live wire as we post information throughout the day, including pictures from the polling places, quotes, polling figures and more! We'll also be pulling in Twitter feeds from WXII reporters.
More According to the State Board of Elections website, with more than 600,000 votes counted, Amendment One had 55 percent voting for it and 44 percent voting against it. The amendment, if passed, would constitutionally make marriage between a man and a woman the only acceptable form of marriage.

Should have saved this one for November.
PPP
Some Liberal activist judge will over turn it.
all this will do is insure that Obama won’t openly support gay marriage until the day after the election.... along with reparations, banning guns, socialized medicine, 70% income tax bracket and everything he says he will never support.
Tea Party defeats teabaggers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So we just win in November. :) It’ll happen.
Look at Indiana...man, this is just MORE evidence America is sick of liberal politics and the culture of perversion.
Obama and Lugar represented BOTH...one just had a little more of a mask than the other.
We will take care of who trys.
Oh definitely. That is their next step. Always is. I wonder how they will address the civil unions. That is going to be interesting. A man and woman living together for 30 years will now be considered single. Changes taxes, wills, hospital visits, and all kinds of stuff. Although on a positive, if they are together for a long period and break up, they don’t have to pay or split anything. Some straight folks will find this a good thing especially those about to break up.
Thank You Jesus.
That makes no sense (as if!). If something is part of a constitution, then it must be, by definition, constitutional. It cannot be against itself.
I know, I know. You did qualify the judge as liberal, activist.
I feared the same but apparently this is an amendment to the state Constitution which means it isn’t necessarily up to a judge since the judge will have a difficult time interpreting a clearly worded passage the wrong way.
Polls show it will go over 60%. My liberal friends are in hiding over this one. Facebook is quiet.
Proud to be a native North Carolinian. Always. Maybe we can take it back.
Only a few municipalities have some form of “civil union” for unmarried couples, and none of those statutes has been in place very long. Unmarried romantic couples - or any group of two or more people who want a formal legal relationship, including inheritance, medical decision-making, and so forth - have the legal tools to do so irrespective of their unmarried status, and any competent estates attorney can arrange the legalities according to the specific needs of the people.
Tea Party wins!!!! teabaggers pack up their bags!!
We just got a email asking for prayer from a lady working near the polling place.
One of the Pro-Marriage Amendment ladies said “a young man approached me and introduced himself. He said his name was Tim Gold, and that Mitchell Gold was his “husband”. In case you don’t know who Mitchell Gold is, he’s a very wealthy homosexual activist in Hickory who owns a furniture company...(he said) “that he had dedicated his life to making me the most miserable person on the earth.”
“His parting comment is that I would be crushed by him and Mitchell Gold.”
Mitchell Gold is the founder of “Faith in America” a pro-homosexual activist group.
I think there may be some hope for North Carolina after all
He has made inroads in Miami Florida too:

It is hard to believe that over 366,000 in North Carolina are voting against this amendment!
Yes! I am from North Carolina and everyone I know voted for the amendment and against homosexual marriage in this state. And we did not, nor ever will, vote for Mitt Romney.
Does it just need a simple majority to pass?
And while I can't speak for him, I believe that God is smiling on North Carolina.
Thank you right thinking voters in NC.
This is terrific news for sure!
Also, there’s a North Carolina race I’m keeping a watchful eye on in the 7th Congressional District where Ilario Pantano, a Marine who served in both Gulf Wars, is facing the GOP’s handpicked establishment candidate, David Rouzer, a 20-year Washington lobbyist who is alleged to have promoted amnesty for illegal aliens in order benefit one of his clients.
Has anyone seen or heard any election returns yet in this particular race?
Yes.
Hmmmm...Mitchell...Mitchell Gold.... the founder of Faith in America.
Thanks for posting this.
Now LOTS of people know the name of this pervert making threats.
and, Tim Gold, too!
NC has never had “Civil Unions” for a man and woman. That garbage was reserved for homosexuals. This law does away with it. Thanks be to God. The degenerates losing big time.
What makes you think the amendment changes all of those things? And has marriage become obsolete?
your man is winning by four points with partial returns in...the races are here...you have to scroll down to find the race you mentioned:

Ahh but old Joe let that cat out of the bag......I wonder if he will suddenly have the desire to “spend more time with family”?
Oh geez, the 7th Congressional District is a nail-biter as of 9:15 p.m. eastern time:
Ilario Gregory Pantano (R) 46.91% 16,854
David Rouzer (RINO) 46.21% 16,603
Can’t really tell how many votes are still left to be counted based on the data I have.
Tea Party wins!! teabaggers lick their wounds!
61% for Traditional Marriage.
Tea Party wins!! teabaggers lick their wounds!
Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts.
This looks too ambiguous to stand up.
I understand that. Likewise I understand Jim Robinson's identical position.
But I'm curious who you will be pulling for on election night in November.
Boom! 59%-41% in favour of traditional marriage!
Fortunately, on that day, he'll be just another babbling idiot in the unemployment line...
Probably not, but he won’t have the liberal Congress he needs to pass any of that, and will face an even more conservative Congress after 2014.
I live in NY but I am doign some work in NC
I was shocked by the effort to portray this as some evil thing you had to be against
NO ONE was for it that I talked to, and many people were PO’d at having to vote for it in the first place- they were so sick of being portrayed as evil for wanting marriage to be man and woman.
And the thought that THIS was in issue that was important in this economic climate pissed them off even more
Extrapolate the marriage amendment margin to other fake Dem polls and November is looking pretty good!
She needs prayer, and a concealed handgun license.
At last we can clear up who are the teabaggers and who are the Tea Party.
No she doesn’t , we have open carry here . Unless the polling place is a school ... If folks are stepping up in prayer , she will not need a firearm tonight or any other time !
Snoot ;o)
Well I will NEVER pay “reparations” to ANYONE! So don’t even bother asking;)
Proud to be a native North Carolinian. Always.
Excellent, and thank you, North Carolina voters! Glad there's some common sense still out there (there isn't much up here in the People's Republik of Connecticut).
One of these years we're outta here - we hope to move somewhere between mid-Virgina and Florida. My husband loves what he's seen of NC, but we weren't sure (as of a couple of years ago) if NC was "conservative enough".
I know... incredible, isn't it? I barely recognize this world we now live in, and... I'm really not that old...
BTW, I live in the People's Republik of Connecticut, which became a Gay State years ago thanks to one activist judge who decided to change CT's constitution.
