David Cameron is to declare that there is no going back on harsh spending cuts after seeing the leaders of France and Greece swept from power by public anger at austerity.

WHAT austerity? The UK raised taxes on the rich just like Obama promises.
They really think we’re stupid.
I wish I could recall who said it:
“The Masses are Asses”
Pretty much sums up the recent elections in France. How long are their terms? The morong is actually promising a 75% tax rate and INCREASING government spending when they are already drowning in debt.
Anyone else predicting a bad result?
The EU is over.
We’ll see what he has to say after this UNCUT movement has a chance to rock his streets for a couple more years.
Good. Don’t feed the zoo animals. Hopefully the french muzzy scum get their goat stained underwear in a knot and blow up.
As Freeper mylife's tagline says, "The Roar of the Masses Could be Farts."
At least he is standing his ground! The French have lost their minds. They not only want to”Eat Their Cake”,they want to have it to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The UK may talk a good game but they’re still hellbent on wasting gobs of $ in their search for a green utopia.
I hope so.

Ding dong, the EU is dead. The hosts are going to fumigate the parasites.
It's all over for all of us. We just don't know it yet.
The crash will start in the EU and spread globally. It is a progressive's wet dream.
Cameron, going back on austerity has been done before. It can always be done. Just start spending more money.
Austerity is unavoidable.
A country can try to run from it, but it will catch up with them eventually.
These are interesting times.
Congress remove blinders and ear plugs austerity works.
Exactly.
Things have moved on. The latest budget from the Con/Lib Dem coalition axed the 50% marginal top rate of income tax, and also cut corporation tax.
You really need to look at the whole picture to get a sense of what this government is doing. Yes, there have been a few tax rises but also a lot of cuts. But it's the expenditure cuts, and the net effect on the deficit, which are the big story. Overall since this government came into office it's made the largest reduction in the size of government (up to 40% in the case of some departments) in modern times. It's more than even Margaret Thatcher at her most radical attempted over such a short period.
It’s austerity across the board. Balance the budget. Taxes up, benefits down, government downsized....
