WASHINGTON –  Former presidential hopeful Rick Santorum urged his supporters to back fellow Republican Mitt Romney's campaign Monday in a late-night email that ignored that Santorum once calling Romney the "worst Republican in the country" during their bitter contest.

He added: "Above all else, we both agree that President Obama must be defeated. The task will not be easy. It will require all hands on deck if our nominee is to be victorious. Gov. Romney will be that nominee and he has my endorsement and support to win this the most critical election of our lifetime."

If you want to replace 0, even the "worst Republican in the country" will do.

Under the circumstances, that is the only sensible option remaining for Ricky.

Santorum endorsed Specter for president in 1996 and Romney in 2008, Santorum wasn’t going to rebel at Mitt being too liberal, that act was never real.

I would say to Rick Santorum:

Rick, I was proud to show up at your rally at the Venetian Club in Rockford and to cast my vote for you in the Illinois primary. Of course, the air waves here were, as in all primary states carpet-bombed with a zillion dollars worth of Robozombie's lies, slanders, libels and defamations against you and against your career. Robozombie, of course, never did define a single significant issue as to how he would handle himself as POTUS any better than Obozo will.

Rick, you may forgive Romney or endorse him just because that is what leaders do within the GOP or because it seems the decent thing to do. You know and I know that the Massachusetts trashbag is every bit as unqualified as Obozo to be POTUS. You may forgive him. I won't. AND I certainly will not reward him for his lies and libels and slanders any more than I will reward Obozo for his.

To the RNC and the rest of the GOP-E cowards: After 44 years of voting (often against my better judgment for each and every GOP POTUS candidate), I have had enough of your typical candidates of whom Robozombie is only the latest. If the GOP wants my POTUS vote, and, I suspect, the votes of many other actual conservatives, the GOP will have to earn it the old-fashioned way. It can nominate a candidate close to Reagan's qualities or the GOP will forfeit my vote and that of many others. The results may disappoint Muffy, Skipper, the other trust fund babies, the Darien investment obsessives, the foreign policy enemies' bum auto-smoochers, the baby-killers, the "Log Cabin" and other lavender queens, the Junior League and the polo clubbers but that is just the way it is and will be. Keep on nominating unprincipled airhead RINO monstrosities and keep on getting defeated.

Also, I don't have money to send but, if I did, no entity owned or run by anything labeled Republican would get a nickel. Fortunately, actual conservatives across the land are making the same judgment. No more cash for the RSCC, the RCCC, the RNC, the GOP "Young Guns" (who are supporting Richard Lugar) or any of the rest of the elitist whores to give them influence over candidates.

He is one of the oldest members of GOPe, not the newest member. He has always been a Karl Rove stooge and a big government socialist. He also endorses liberals over conservatives. e.g.: Arlen Specter.

I wonder if you really think Santorum or anyone else would pay any attention at all to your rant? He doesn't care about you. Never did.

Clue: Don't hold your breath. Predictable.

You would expect him to be churlish and childish and refuse to support the nominee of the party he’s been a part of his whole life?

Of course this was the right thing.

Anyone But Obama

What I expect that when a man campaigns for months saying “Romney is the worst candidate possible”, to stand by their convictions and not cave to conventional wisdom.
I am sick to death of people going along to get along, where are the damn principles of right over wrong these days.
Stop apologizing and stick to your beliefs.
If Romney as Santorum said is the worst, three months ago he is still the worst today.
Santorum was right then, he is wrong now.

Oh, for heaven’s sake - many things are said in the heat of a campaign. I suggest that all those who are on their high horses, and attempt to “teach the GOPE a lesson,” enjoy 4 more years of the marxist in the WH. Maybe, then, just maybe, we’ll have another election in 2016 and nominate a true conservative. Don’t count on it. If obozo wins another 4 years - we all lose.

Its as simple as that. Romney isn’t a true conservative, but, at least he loves this country - unlike the poser in chief now occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

We may not get the opportunity to vote in another “free’ election if we don’t win back the WH and Senate. I don’t know how much plainer it can be said.

How do you know?
How do you know anything about that liberal called Romney, he takes five sides to every issue.
I am done voting for the liberal R candidate.
You said Romney isn’t a true conservative, he is not a conservative at all. He never has been nor will he ever be one. He has not one conservative bone in his body.

It looks like we're stuck with Mitt. The best that can be done is to take control of the Senate, and put in as many Tea Party supporters as possible.

Congress should make President Mitt toe the line, and force him to be conservative. Otherwise, they should block every liberal move he makes...

Not a surprise to anyone from Pennsylvania. We know this guy backstabs conservatives. Right now conservatives need a brokered convention, NOT ROMNEY.

Romney cannot, and should not, win.

Romney is the WHITE OBAMA (and worse since he
is not accountable, like Obama will shortly be).

Romney is a SURE LOSS.

Santorum is now shown to be an idiot.

Yes we need more conservatives in Congress but the Congress and Senate will not oppose a GOP President for the most part.
