Attention "Anyone But Obama" (ABO) FReepers! If you go to the thread at the link you will will see that JimRob has "declared a truce" and hundreds of ABO FReepers are now vigorously defending their belief, which I share, that the ineligible Marxist Manchurian MUST BE DEFEATED to preserve the Republic...without fear of "the ZOT"! Please consider a DONATION not just to fund renewal of expression and amplification of your ABO views, but let's over-achieve this FReepathon to get JR his new equipment!

IMO, Free Republic and FReepers could be vital in swing states in rallying just enough conservatives to tip the election and prevent our troops from having to salute for even one day longer than necessary an ineligible Marxist committed to destroying the USA !

This candidate does not exist in the real world.

To be left-wing on economics is to be marxist, socialist, and therefore hold liberal spending policies.

The reason why one holds marxist, socialist, liberal economic policies is because your social viewpoints demand other people’s money to spend on them.

There is nobody that exists that has social conservative policies about what to do about welfare programs, but has liberal economics that would massively and inherently contradict their conservative social welfare policy.

It would have the person say “I want to reform or eliminate welfare as we know it, anyone on welfare has to work, be tested for drug use regularly and lose it if you test positive, only citizens get welfare. etc” but then say “I want to drastically raise the amount we are spending on welfare to ever increasingly higher amounts.”

This is an impossible candidate. The candidate would have to be totally bipolar or willingly-ignorantly hypocritical to even pull any such thing off.

It’s not going to have resolution IMO....because there are those who are indeed Romney lovers and hoping above hope he seals the Presidency for a different agenda....nor is it about conservatisim...their supposedly ABO vote, (which is a smokescreen IMO)....is something else entirely.

There’s more than one war to take over on the front lines for this country....and more than our country at stake..and I mean to fight that war to the finish.

As we see....the truce cannot hold when “other” agenda’s are at play.

Yeah ~ I know enough about how those Koranic verses are used to know that you can’t practice Islam as just a religion. Those guys simply do not operate in the same reality as the rest of the world.

Correct. That’s why I made my original post. Someone posted the name of Mike Huckabee to me upthread, but I too believe this candidate mentioned in post 101 does not exist.

I happen to believe that social conservatism is the basis for all conservatism because without the moral base, we can’t tell the difference between right and wrong.

Our rights and liberties are not given to us by government; they are given to us by our Creator.

Frankly, he’d be getting attacked from the left sooner or later on it. He will get both barrels if they think he has a chance of beating Barry. He may as well hone his arguments for the liberal hit pieces that will be far, far more devastating to him because the MSM will be running them on TV and cable in front of many more people than those of us on FR.

And in fairness, there are people here that have just thrown out the “mormon card” at people critical of Mitt that have never brought up the issue in their criticisms. Personally to be legitimately critical of Mitt, you don’t even have to get that far and discuss his religion.

I said there are no absolutes in religion because it is based on faith. Since faith requires a belief based on someones words without evidence to back it up, it doesn ‘t make it a fact. since there is no factual information it can not be discussed logicaly, because logicaly, there are no facts.

Look at the actual people who held the vast majority of political offices back then, and that’s where the consensus arose from.

Not voting doesn’t make a statement anymore than a 2 yr old stamping his feet does.

Why do you think that those who are not going to vote for Romney are trying to make a statement?

I'm not going to vote for him and I'm not trying to make any statement to the GOP.

An honest man would recognize that his core beliefs simply do not conform to the standards expected of individuals in his political party and go run somewhere else.

That's probably why so many of the Romney supporters are in such a panic. They know!!!!

It is never enough for the truly desperate for others to simply step aside ~ anyone here ever read The Brothers Karamazov; how about One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch; what about Gulag Archipelago?

There's a theme in that literature about the fundamental flaw in leftwing thought ~ that it's practitioners know it's a crime, but they can't help themselves so they seek others who've done the same thing to surround them, and if they are short of volunteers they force others to bow their knees and dip their own spears in the blood of the victims.

I think the Russians did a remarkable job covering that particular problem.

The Mittbots really do need to allow people to step aside ~ or it will just get worse. Oh, and here's the set of spears somebody handed me. I don't do that and you can't make me.

They all went Christian regardless of the differences in their affliations. And that’s generally fine with most..at least tolerable and expected for those who have no faith...so far.

But yes it does matter..., We even saw that when Santorum was at the top of the heap and the religious rallied around him.......and some actually were opposed....especially liberals.

“Why do you think that those who are not going to vote for Romney are trying to make a statement?”

Because many of them will say they aren’t voting to make a statement. No, I’m not going to find examples. Go look for yourself.

“I’m not going to vote for him and I’m not trying to make any statement to the GOP.”

One of two people will be the next President. Anything but a vote for mittens helps Obama.

Please name such a candidate in the real world.

Well, such candidates don't exist in the US the way they once did. You don't have to go back many years to the old style Southern Democrats to find politicians that were very socially conservative and economically liberal.

You can still find a lot of these sorts of politicians in South America. There are many both socially conservative AND economic populist left wing politicians there. You see some of this very thing in places like Venezuela, Peru, etc.

I guess you are just fine with the idea that Obama will be better for the next four years, you guys are idiots!

"Idiots"? The fact that you don't understand that a Republican dominated Congress will likely lock arms against a president wearing the other team's jersey - but fold like a cheap suit for one wearing their own jersey, makes those that think like you, the idiots.

Understand that there isn't a dime's worth of difference between Romney and Obama's governing records, and that he will continue to advance the big government, Socialist, elitist, globalist agenda, if he's elected. He's not going to roll back one iota of Obama's agenda, nor is he going to 'bend right, if we put pressure on him'.

I don't want to see either Obama or Romney in the White House over the next four years, because they're simply two faces of the same Commie cabal that is trying to destroy America. That said, if we MUST have one them for president, I'd rather it be one who the Republicans are more likely to OPPOSE, than one who they'll roll over for - especially considering that they have the same agenda.

Personally, I think that every conservative who gives a damn about this country needs to get off their ass and get to Tampa for the convention. We need to raise such an historic ruckus, that the delegates back away from nominating this POS for president. We need to force them to choose an honest conservative at this most pivotal moment in our history.

Now is NOT the time for playing politics as usual by offering up yet another weak kneed, milquetoast RINO. Not when we have a committed Marxist sitting in the White House.

I did not say once ever I wouldn't be voting...and you guys wonder why no truce will hold when you make false accusations as this.

comments such as yours are exactly why there is no reasonable debates or conversations here....

Do you think a Christian is afraid of being able to answer such a question?

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father, but by me.”

The answer is whoever believes in Jesus, will be in Heaven. Jesus, the Son of God, and God Himself, in the flesh, is THE way of salvation provided by God the Father, for all people - Jesus’ perfect atoning sacrificial death, that paid your sin debt to God, thereby reconciling you to God. Jewish, chinese, white, black, purple - all people need Christ, no more, no less, no one needing to do more than any other person except believe in Jesus and what He did for you.

Whether you accept and believe that answer depends on who you think Jesus is.

I'm starting to get your logic. When I say I am not trying to make a statement, I really am trying to make statement.

Wow, I'm way more complicated than I thought.

Because many of them will say they aren’t voting to make a statement. No, I’m not going to find examples. Go look for yourself.

Then your assertion is pointless and meaningless.

That's hardly a truce. You are campaigning for Romney and claiming people who don't commit for him right now are Obama supporters.

Now, tell me seriously, what are you going to GIVE Virginia voters to get Romney over the hump? (Recalling my thread the other day where I showed the trouble he's in around here ~ to wit, virginia).

It's gotta' be big because the way the analysts are calling it now the country is evenly split and Virginia is the most narrowly split where one side or the other can actually draw blood with a very narrowly designed attack, or set of campaign promises.

Obama's thugs probably have some ridiculous thing in mind like "NO LABOR CONTRACT FOR THE SILVER LINE" (Not realizing we don't have a gazillion people riding in to DC every day from Loudon county.

I want the Bourbon faction in the Republican party REMOVED root and branch to make way for a total Conservative and TEAParty operation. Maybe Romney's guys could promise that now ~ certainly Obama's guys might and lord only knows how they'd accomplish it ~ something like "The Chicago Way" Maybe. I don't know.

You'll need something to attract more Democrats to the Republican standard to offset the Conservatives you've convinced they have nothing at stake here.

New buildings, maybe FIX US 50, and pay off the other tollroads ~?

The campaign may be going down in May depending on what the candidates can promise. Time to start promising.

LOL. Might as well give up, because there is no way you'll win that argument. Most people know what you mean, that religion is based on faith and it is not something that one can definitively prove. But, some people think that statement only applies to other religions, not their own - and they will never concede such a thing.
