Attention "Anyone But Obama" (ABO) FReepers! If you go to the thread at the link you will will see that JimRob has "declared a truce" and hundreds of ABO FReepers are now vigorously defending their belief, which I share, that the ineligible Marxist Manchurian MUST BE DEFEATED to preserve the Republic...without fear of "the ZOT"! Please consider a DONATION not just to fund renewal of expression and amplification of your ABO views, but let's over-achieve this FReepathon to get JR his new equipment!

IMO, Free Republic and FReepers could be vital in swing states in rallying just enough conservatives to tip the election and prevent our troops from having to salute for even one day longer than necessary an ineligible Marxist committed to destroying the USA !

You’ve got Obama, and you’ve got Romney. That’s it.

Poor Paul; Rodney got more respect than he gets these days...

What would they say for those voting for Ron Paul now, because some are convinced a fruitcake conservative is better than the Socialist agendas being pushed by Romney and Obama?

Dang!

I've been OUTTED!

Re: third-party: it looks like people just spending energy on a cause that was lost before it began.

Look...even the 50-50 crowd (those who presume 50% for either party) have eventualities where half of them supposedly (in your words) "spent energy on a cause that was lost..."

Half of those "50-50" "causes" campaign managers lose.

If you are a runner-up for the job you always wanted, does that somehow make you feel better?

Is a runner-up job candidate any better off than the 3rd place runner-up?

You see...You elect to look ONLY thru the filter of winning.

Once you commit to that filter, then...
...to be consistent...
...ANY -- and I mean ANY -- vote cast for a loser (even if they got more popular votes but lost electorally)...constitutes a "wasted vote" -- a vote that made no difference in the outcome as you wanted it...
...any $ or energy spent on that candidate was likewise "wasted"...

Also-rans don't count in a winner-takes-all situation.

So. Really. This all calls for patience for voters in swing states.

Because the polling data tends to be fairly accurate...and if it won't matter at that point -- whether you voted for a second-string "also ran" (like possibly Romney) vs. a third-string "also ran" (like third party)...then why vote for a pro-abort liberal socialist healthcare pioneer?

As for FREEPER voters in non-swing states, I say again: Why would vote for a pro-abort big govt socialist healthcare liberal? Already, we know RIGHT NOW that your vote for Romney won't make a difference in keeping Obama out of the White House.

Romney will lose -- or win -- that state minus your input into the ballot box.

Thanks.

I have often thought of compiling a list of those I though would be eligible to inherit Eternal Life, it would be a daunting task to include all those that have indeed laid out the rules to attain that goal.

I have been doing works, but who knows how many works to do.

I thought about memorizing the Bible, nah Computers make that unnecessary.

I thought about praying five times a day, nah, someone already uses that one.

Then I thought of some of the simpler things, like; Whosoever believeth on Me shall have everlasting life.
Even to those that Believe on My name.
Grace is a free gift of God, the price has been paid.
I have made the way so simple a fool could find it........

Hope that is seen, is not hope
for what a man doth see,
why does he yet hope.

Jesus is exactly who He said He was. Made Simple easy to understand statements about what was telling us. He left a simple plan, preachers and teachers made it complicated, not unlike how lawyers make the Constitution complicated today.

God intended for us to rule our selves, but like the days of old, we shout for a king to rule over us, then we shall obey all His rules.........

Christ will deny no one. Ask while on you knees in the corner of your room, alone and sincerely, to come into your heart and he will. Read the Bible and pray and ask, he will come to you and then you will understand. You will be overwhelmed with a joy that is indescribable and then walk confidently in your faith in Him. Please try it if that is what you really are searching for.

LVR gave some great advice. May I add: Ask God to lead you to a good, Bible-believing church. :-)

For the sake of the conservative movement in the short term, probably the best possible scenario out of our current bad situation would be an extremely narrow Romney victory with lots of conservatives in “safe Republican” or “safe Democrat” states casting protest votes for third parties, making crystal clear to Romney that he doesn't have a mandate to push a left-of-center agenda.

Interesting perspective, darrell. If we could control those numbers and still get rid of Obama, I would agree with you.

No matter what, the Conservatives we elected in 2010 (some of whom have been enormous disappointments, some of whom have not), and the new ones we elect in November have GOT to hold firm with Conservative principles in both the House and Senate.

I'm also hoping that both Santorum (my choice because of social issues) and Gingrich will offer much advice on conservatism that will be understood and accepted by a far-from-conservative candidate.

I think Romney will do whatever he thinks it will take to get elected, and I'm extremely unhappy with the trial balloons he's been sending up about a “move to the middle.” If we don't hold his feet the fire we're going to have an awful mess if he's elected, and an even worse mess with four more years of President Obama if Romney is defeated.

The 'move to the middle' nonsense is exactly the kind of thing that Santorum, Gingrich, and all of us need to stop Romney from carrying out. He has no core (which, of course, is why he was none of our choices), but perhaps he can be persuaded to actually BE the conservative he claims he is.

Again.......I am a hopeless optimist, and am always looking up, and not down.

I do trust in God's promise that, no matter what happens, HE will never leave us, nor forsake us.

If we are subjected to punishment as Christians under a second term Obama, if we face the very real possibility of persecution under an unbridled Marxist regime, we need to fight for all we're worth, but also TRUST that God will give us the strength to endure what we never dreamed would happen to us in America.

Thank you for the reminder, Jim!

Double standards have become the standard in the world of culture and academia. My wife and I are both in two of the most anti-Christian professions out there, but compared to what goes on in the world of art, neither of us have even come close to what Christian artists have to deal with.

One of the things which woke me up about the need to stop tolerating garbage was listening to a politically conservative Rabbi say that he couldn't believe how much harassment Christians tolerate. He pointed out that nobody would get away with the kind of bigotry said about Christians in America if it were said about Jewish people or other religious minorities.

Of course there are perfectly valid Biblical reasons why we don't act like Muslims and storm into the streets demanding execution of those who burn the Koran or “insult the Prophet.” But that doesn't mean Christians ought to let themselves be intimidated into silence.

I think we probably agree in large measure.

This might just possibly be a good summary of why we're saved by grace and not by works.... ;-)

____

Q1. What is your only comfort in life and death?

A. That I am not my own,(1) but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death,(2) to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.(3) He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood,(4) and has set me free from all the power of the devil.(5) He also preserves me in such a way(6) that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head;(7) indeed, all things must work together for my salvation.(8) Therefore, by His Holy Spirit He also assures me of eternal life(9) and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for Him.(10)

1.1 Cor 6:19, 20.
2.Rom 14:7-9.
3.1 Cor 3:23; Tit 2:14.
4.1 Pet 1:18, 19; 1 Jn 1:7; 2:2.
5.Jn 8:34-36; Heb 2:14, 15; 1 Jn 3:8.
6.Jn 6:39, 40; 10:27-30; 2 Thess 3:3; 1 Pet 1:5.
7.Mt 10:29-31; Lk 21:16-18.
8.Rom 8:28.
9.Rom 8:15, 16; 2 Cor 1:21, 22; 5:5; Eph 1:13, 14.
10.Rom 8:14.

Q2. What do you need to know in order to live and die in the joy of this comfort?

A. First, how great my sins and misery are;(1) second, how I am delivered from all my sins and misery;(2) third, how I am to be thankful to God for such deliverance.(3)

1.Rom 3:9, 10; 1 Jn 1:10.
2.Jn 17:3; Acts 4:12; 10:43.
3.Mt 5:16; Rom 6:13; Eph 5:8-10; 1 Pet 2:9, 10.

Certainly. We are in the early stages of conducting a thorough citizen constitutionality review of the entire existing American government.

Any help in that monumental task will be appreciated.

What are Romney's chances of winning?" as of late October/early Nov???

None!...October surprise is coming...war with Iran...Israel just unnited both of their "parties" to be united rather than wait til Septemeber elections..now off...in order to form a united front.

Nathanbedford has apiece that clearly explains why Obama will win...and of course why Obama is so arrogant about winning....a relevant article IMP.

It does however certainly reflect a divided country...and how deeply Commi, Socialists, and all the others have infiltrated.....not to mention a President with outside influences helping the destruction of this economy.

These Romney die hards remind me of the idiots that voted for Obama.. They don't want to hear any facts about him and if you do, they cry racism ( "bigot" in Romney's case..)

Like with Obama, we are all suppose to forget about Romney's past and dream of what a good president he will be.

I love how some of these people have utopian ideas about everyone would just get along if it wasn't for these "bible thumper creeps". Yeah, like Islam ever wanted to get along with anyone. Like Obama's pastor, Rev. Wright had no effect on the rest of the country. Perhaps if Obama had sat in the front row seat of the First Baptist Church in Atlanta for 20 years with pastor Charles Stanley preaching, he wouldn't have been a radical marxist that he is.
