A much younger guy, Fish. I don’t think it will work out for us.
You can talk to me now. I’m back in the real world.
Two others DA reminds me of - Snidely Whiplash from Rocky and Bullwinkle and Oil Can Harry from Tom Terrific. Then, of course, there’s the obvious resemblance to Hitler.
When Marco Rubio tells you in person,as he did me, he really does not want the VP job that he would rather concentrate on his duties in the Senate, you tend to believe him.If he is asked however to serve his country in times of need as VP it will be difficult to turn down. So it all awaits us,pass the popcorn.
Libs ARE ONLY UPSET about the Troops when it might hurt Obabozo politically...
where are the relentless drum beating MSM headlines about “war casualties” that we had when Bush was in??
where is code Pink/ where is Sheehan?

So true.
Rubio has paid a lot of dues. He's no rookie.
Plus this guy is as Reaganesque as you can get. Add in fearless and you have a formidable candidate.
I think I basically agree with you about homosexuals.
I’ve known a lot myself and most of them are nothing like the prancing stereotypes. But they can be stereotyped, often in a good way.
They are fun, creative and usually successful financially (I’m talking mainstream homosexuals here) If there is an article in the paper about a beautifully decorated old house and garden that a couple achieved by wandering around quaint antique shops, etc. ... that couple is often two men.
My niece and I were discussing a gay friend and his romantic problems. He is a good person and would be faithful to a significant other. Problem: most gay men cannot be faithful. The best couples he knows ... one of them is always unfaithful. It’s about being men.
But, this is sooooo not my main issue. I’m not even appalled about gay marriage.
My social issue is abortion.
Yep, and the omitted other examples of the bad instincts and poor judgement of all the Democrats’ collectively. What is wrong with their policies and why arent they working as the state intent? Health care cost went up. Government stimulus failed. Surge in Afghanistan hasnt produced a decisive win. Food-stamp use is way up.
That’s because of a fatal flaw in their lifestyle.
As I stated before, most of them CANNOT be faithful. The health risks you outlined are things even the most notorious womanizer could not achieve because it would be impossible.
So, if you think it is a sin, then they are being punished in this life.
Personally, from observing my daughter’s high school friends I think it is something they are born with. She was (and is) extraordinarily beautiful and gays are always attracted to that. She had a close gay friend who was in love with her, in a way, but he was gay. He couldn’t admit it to himself until he was a senior in HS.
My sister knew it when he was more interested in her earring collection than she was.
I’m crushed altura, here all this time I thought.....
It is not bogus. We have 300,000 to 400,000 anchor babies born annually in the US or about one out of every ten children born in this country. They are American citizens entitled to all of the benefits of citizenship including Medicaid, food stamps, etc. They are called anchor babies for a reason. When they reach 21 they can sponsor their parents to be here legally. And we also have birth tourism, which I am very familiar with.

I thought Rubios solution sounded reasonable.
Only to those who are not well informed about the issue, which unfortunately are most Americans. It would provide amnesty for an estimated 3 million illegal aliens and it would be a rolling amnesty.
Anchor babies already have a good case that they are citizens by virtue of being born in the USA. If it ever goes to the Supreme Court, I think they would win.
They are already winning under the status quo. They are American citizens, millions of them thru jus solis and that will not change for those already with citizenship. If Congress passes a law eliminating birthright citizenship, it will be challenged in the courts. If SCOTUS declares the law unconsitutional, then it would take a Constitutional Amendment to change it. There are only two developed countries in the world, Canada and the US, that still have birthright citizenship. Ireland was the last European country to get rid of it.
The homosexual marriage thing is a deliberate distraction.
If this country goes down the tubes, homosexual marriage will be the least of the gay community’s worries. A ;arge portion of their income comes from stuff like interior design, fashion, arts, etc. If we are all scrounging for food and fuel, no one is going to hire them for this type of stuff.
Like it or not, we are all in this together. The focus has to be on JOBS and the destruction of our economy through regulations, environmental lawsuits, prohibition on oil and gas drilling, coal mine closings, etc.
The fact that Biden started blabbing about gay marriage tells you that Obama would prefer we argue about THAT, rather than talking about how bad things are economically, and how many people are out of the work force.
About 25% of my customers at my eBay store are now foreign. They are willing to buy antiques and collectibles and pay the shipping overseas. Why? Because my stuff is a bargain to them due to the fall of the dollar. And the decline in the value of the dollar is directly due to Obama’s policies.
I thought Rubio was outstanding on Fox Sunday. He is effortlessly articulate and gives the impression that his policies are something he has thought about seriously and deeply believes in.
I think he would be an asset to the ticket but not because he would attract hispanics.
I don’t think any of the people bray mentioned would work. It would be too easy to re-quote to them all the things they said about Romney in the campaign.
Anyway, their negatives are the reason they couldn’t make it and I’m not talking just organization and money.
If Romney picks Ryan it will be a defacto endorsement of his financial plan and that wouldn’t be bad in my opinion.
But it will be interesting to see.
Oh, I respect Rubio, but not sure his honeymoon with media would last. I’m for more proven quantities I guess, like Jeb Bush to help with Florida, or Gov. John Kasich (don’t hear him mentioned by chattering class, as opposed to new Senator Rob Portman, who really is not known in Ohio - Yes, he beat the sitting Lt Governor to attain the senate seat but it was a huge anti-Obama GOP sweep AND the Lt Gov had almost no support, even in his own party. Ohio is a must win state. Kasich suffered some lumps like WI Gov Walker on public sector labor reforms. Kasich had his own TV show called “The Heartland” on Fox (2001-7). He was on Dole’s short list for VP in ‘96. He was a budget wizz in Congress (1983-2001). He has been REAL quiet. He would electrify the convention. He is also from indistrial Pittsburgh area, PA, so 2 birds with one stone (OH-PA).
To think that any of this can be managed without deep cuts in every phase of government we have is incredibly naive.
What's even worse is neither side,us or the demoncrats are able to talk about any of it since the DBM has made even the thought of budget cutting toxic for everyone who is dependent on politics for a living.
Once again that's why the slow but sure demise/death of the DBM is essential. Here in the New Media We can and will fulfill what they should have been doing all along.
You are so right about libs. They have no core values.
I am REALLY tired of sending our troops into foreign countries with no serious aim or purpose.
I don’t want to do it anymore. Nothing changes. Look at the Korean war. Someone said North Korean people are in such starvation, they eat grass.
I feel sorry for the innocent people in backward, primitive societies, but there is nothing we can achieve for them by sending troops. Nothing by sending food or money, either as their corrupt leaders manage to grab it before it gets to the people.
We need to protect ourselves and it can best be done by intelligence efforts and by bombing.
With regard to the middle east, they have three things: a horrible religion, oil and sand. We need to stop buying their oil and use our own.
WRT anchor babies, I think the Parent’s Country has a stronger case when extending their Citizenship to that baby!
(ie. if the Parents are French Citizens, then the baby is a French Citizen.)
All you say is true but it doesn’t change my premise.
I don’t think any of those things are in the minds of people who come here illegally.
they just aren’t.
Border control is the only way to stop the influx.
Why will nobody get serious about that?
Surely it’s not impossible. Oh, some would get through, but it would be a trickle compared to the flood we have now.
And Obama has no interest in stopping the flood or doing anything about illegals already here. He won’t even allow criminals to be deported. It’s crazy.
yep, the debt-Meister’s minions are going to have to distract from the glaring issue of anemic private sector economic expansion.
What is it about NE Rep. women legislators ? Kelly--at a young age of 40-45 I'd guess---has a hint of that faltering ?, weak ?, old ? vocal pattern that we hear with Sen. Snow. Odd for such a young lady, and I dont' expect it would get better, but rather more pronounced. FWIW.
Brokaw then blasted the White House Correspondents for the image they're presenting, acknowledging that the media is more impressed with celebrity than they are with the news. Correct, Tom !
Yep, too bad any Republicans went along with raising the debt-ceiling. They should have refused it, then detail the spending budget instead.
Many Cubans,if not experiencing Castro style communism first hand have been told the stories by parents, relatives and friends what to expect from communist rule and they want no part of it.They differ from the standard experience of other Hispanics.
Truth is Marco Rubio is a true American legislator first. He always puts God and country first not that he won't help Hispanics if the opportunity arises. But he won't shy away from helping anyone if the opportunity arises. One of the great characteristics about him as a potential VP he has universal appeal, IMHO. Plus charisma X 10. Sarah Palin and Rubio have the Charisma necessary to make it to the top one day.
If interest rates return to their historical norms, we will be in a world of hurt with debt servicing costs alone amounting to almost a trillion dollars a year. The politicians of both parties are afraid to tell the public how bad things really are.
One of the toughest choices Mitt will have is to go for securing a state vote,Penn, Ohio, Fla. Va. or others or go for the man.Challenging call no mater what he does.
He totally has the things you mentioned. I turned it on out of curiosity but the guy (yeah, I know he’s too young for me) just mesmerized me. I sat and watched his entire interview, neglecting my dog, neglecting making coffee ... I dunno.
He certainly has what we used to call “It.”
Whether he should be the veep choice or not I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is president some day.
Altura, as a Texan and supporter of Perry, do you think that needle can be threaded ? Is that the real concern of Perry/Rubio, or just deference to less expensive labor. What say you ?
Only a few employers hell bent on cheap labor at any cost would give our side a hard time other than a few rinos still worried about losing the Hispanic vote. The BS about losing the Hispanic vote over a secure border is just that.
Many Hispanics are disgusted that we don't have a more secure border. They don't want terrorists coming across any more than we do.
Biden: Osama bin Laden is dead; General Motors is alive.
[Biden paused, but still didnt get any audience reaction for that comment.]
They would trade a dead GM for a living bin Laden any day of the week.
Since when has governing or the thought of how to govern changed so much!! Its insane and few bring it up!!
She could never fall for you RG, you weren’t a Perry guy.
That would be Snidely Whiplash!
It's idiotic to me that we can take in 150-180 billion per month yet can't run a budget on it?
What is even worse is that few even bring it up!!
If a Romney nominee came to him and said sincerely that he didn't think he was certain of beating Obama without him on the ticket, how could he walk away ? Near impossible.
Thanks Bray.
It's really sad. I've lost some pretty good, well maybe not "friends" but close acquaintances, who were homosexuals. They got sick very young, they died very young.
Right now my choir director is very sick and he's been very sick for quite a while. He's only a little over 40.
Just another anecdotal statistic I suppose but not as I see it. I know they try to hide the truth but the truth is same sex is not good for you, no it's not, it's not the nature of things. I don't expect my choir director to live much more than, if lucky, maybe five more years.
Yeah, I'm kind of sad about that.
Just cut the budget, if we ever get another one to cut,1% per year for ten years and stop the insane automatic increases and we balance in almost no time at all.
It would be near painless,do much to save not only the country but the financial system of the world. Yet this simple plan would face huge opposition by the big spenders in congress probably on both sides.
I feel sorry for the innocent people in backward, primitive societies, but there is nothing we can achieve for them by sending troops. Nothing by sending food or money, either as their corrupt leaders manage to grab it before it gets to the people.
This idea of “humanitarian war” is perverse and gets our own people killed in exchange for little or no meaningful return on the investment.
Am I saying nuke them or forget it? Yes. That’s what I’m saying.
I know I’m crushed! May cry myself to sleep tonight with the news.Sob,sob sob.
AKA David Axelrod...looks exactly like him. Somebody trying to tell us somepun'.
I think you are right.
No question! I think the “it” is charisma.
Yes, and no.
They, the libs, have perfected the technique of using "core values" to splinter their opposition into fragments, thereby diluting the available votes for any one person. Thinking people give more or less weight to ideas they believe in, which differ from one to another. Libs attempt to magnify the differences, and use them to splinter their opposition, to dilute it.
This is how they win with seemingly stupid, unsupportable candidates time after time. They throw out all the "core values" as bait.
Regards their actual core values, yes they have one. It is to push socialism and Marxism to the extreme, in any way possible, down the middle, around the sides, over the top or underneath. Whatever and whichever way they can advance the implementation. in that they are united, and formidable, without unity opposing them.
Libs argue about winning, cons argue about core values.
Not disagreeing with having core values. Without them, we merely sway in the breeze. However, it is also important to have a seat at the table, where policy is decided.
Perhaps focusing more on similarities and political goals, and less on individual differences, which end up pushing a former ally over the cliff because their church is a different address, or they don't walk as high on the water.
Not to quote myself, but Wallace just took the words out of our mouths in his final question of Rubio. I won't spoil it for you, RG.
I honestly don’t know if a candidate should get very deeply into that right now.
There is such visceral hatred among many conservatives for illegals that almost spreads over onto all hispanics.
Perry’s very mild attempts to justify doing something that was actually very minor for children of illegals... i.e. allowing them to pay instate tuition ... was a turnoff for so many people.
No matter how we explained that it was not free tuition, that there were many criteria that had to be met before the kids were eligible... that it might have an ultimate benefit by turning those kids into tax paying citizens.
Nothing could overcome the automatic hatred and the sentiment for doing nothing, nothing nice for the childrenof illegals.
So, I would just shut up about it and do it quietly.
Because many people DO NOT have a heart when it comes to children of illegals.
We don’t punish children of rapists or murderers or children of people in prison for various crimes but we want to punish children whose parents crime was coming here illegally.
This is not to say in any way that I like illegal immigration. I don’t.
It should be stopped at the border.
Oh, I dunno, bray.
So okay, I got an announcement!
:::drumroll::::
I GOT A GUN LAST WEEK!!!
I am reminded because on Chris Matthews, the very honest and integral Dan Rather announced that Florida’s “stand your ground” law was practically written by the NRA.
Now, says the fine, journalistically upstanding Rather, this law is being re-written.
Rather did hasten to say he didn’t think it would pass.
OF COURSE IT WON’T PASS!
Americans will not tolerate any notions, however it comes to be either by banning this stand your ground law or re-writing it with milder words, ...any notion that we should have to stand and be beaten, victimized or otherwise attacked and just take it.
It took me a long time as I’d never fired a gun, even held a gun, in my entire life.
So did some investigation, thank God for Sussex county Delaware, paradise on earth, for there are gun stores everywhere. Well hell we’re the boobs who elected Christine O’Donnell so of course we have more churches per capita than all the counties on the east coast and lots of gun stores.
Took me all day.
First had to take a class. Watch a movie, pay attention. Then go out to the range, shoot a revolver, then a semi-automatic, several different kinds of guns. Had to load them, shoot them, eject the spent cartridges. Learn about bullets.
BUT I DID IT!
I hit the target every time. My instructor’s shouting out “Got him in the shouler”...”good, hit him right in the heart”.
Well frankly this commentary, while I know he meant well, made me a tad uncomfortable. Lord I hope I never have to shoot anybody.
Had to pass federal yahoo stuff and state yahoo stuff, had to hang around as the bureaucrats took smoke breaks and their good ole time checking that I was a good citizen, not a nut like my neighbor, never arrested, ALL FOUR of my married names as well as my birth name...on and on.
BUT IT GOT IT.
Got a Smith & Wessen 38 revolver.
Fired it too.
I’m prepping for this coming election’s riots as I hav e my suspicions about what’s coming down.
Involves Occupation Wall Street and the Zimmerman case, more on this later.
I agree. Maybe not nukes but surely there is bombing we could do that would be effective.
I would say nukes after warning the population but those countries are so small, there’s not much place to go.
I can only give you the facts. Anchor babies provide certain benefits both materially and in terms of staying here. People come to this country to improve their lot in life including those of their children. When you reward something you get more of it. We have 300,000 to 400,000 anchor babies a year plus millions more who come illegally with their parents.
When we had the amnesty in 1986, the proponnents said that it would solve our problems with illegal aliens. They promised that it would be a one time amnesty, never to done again. The USG estimated that one million would apply, but the number turned out to be 2.7 million. Fraudulent document centers were set up just blocks away from the processing centers. There was an uptick in illegal immigration after the amnesty was passed even though the law said you had to be here for five years to be eligible. We now have 12 to 20 million illegal aliens and the push is on for another amnesty.
As far as birth tourism is concerned, there are documented rings that bring in expecting mothers from China and India. During my service overseas at our embassies, our local employees sent their wives to the US to have their children so they could get an American passport. It was a form of insurance.
A New Baby Boom? Foreign 'Birth Tourists' Seek U.S. Citizenship for Children
For many pregnant Chinese, a U.S. passport for baby remains a powerful lure
Border control is the only way to stop the influx. Why will nobody get serious about that? Surely its not impossible. Oh, some would get through, but it would be a trickle compared to the flood we have now.
40% of the illegals who are here now came here legally and overstayed their visas. Securing the border only solves part of the problem. We also have to shut off the job magnet using such programs as E-Verify. States like AZ have shown that attrition thru enforcement works. We need state and local law enforcement to work with the Feds. There are only 6,000 ICE agents for the entire country.
The actual number of illegals crossing the border has gone down primarily due to the lack of jobs during this economic downturn. They will go up once the economy improves. And frankly, we need to reduce legal immigration from the current 1.2 million a year to a more manageable 300,000 or so. And we have to shift to a merit based system to bring in the skills we need to be competitive in the global economy. Right now, we are bringing in hundreds of thousands of high school dropouts every year, legally and illegally.

And Obama has no interest in stopping the flood or doing anything about illegals already here. He wont even allow criminals to be deported. Its crazy.
Obama is conducting a back door amnesty of 300,000 illegals right now, closing their cases and giving them work permits. A few years ago, the Border Patrol union (AFL-CIO) of over 7,000 unanimously gave an unprecedented "No confidence resolution" against the Director of ICE and his deputy for not enforcing the immigration laws. He is still in charge.
Man up, Fish. If you got him (or her) in the heart and you were in danger from him (or her), it’s a good thing.
I’m not a bad shot myself, but I absolutely hate it. The sound, the recoil. It’s just not fun.
