You comment on how fresh and smart Rubio seems now. I agree. But I also recall, as you may also, Dan Quayle. In the months leading up to GHW Bush’s nomination, Indiana Senator Quayle was making the rounds as a bright, very well spoken fresh voice of conservatism. He was a former journalist, ran a family owned newspaper, etc. Seemed like a great choice for VP. Then when it happened, the roof fell in. Basically media Palinized him. Asked him the most inane questions which caught him off guard and bewildered him. He lacked preparaton and handlers. I think his relentless vetting started the second he stepped out of that mobile trailer where he met with Bush outside convention hall. Now he is a remembered as a joke and a mistake. [Oh, if only O was treated thusly by media]

Well that’s not fair.

We can’t talk to you?

You’re in love?

Who you in love with? Do tell.

But Marco Rubio could play himself in the movie ! :)

Personally, I’m for Paul Ryan but Rubio made an excellent argument about the negative aspects of too much ‘experience’ in Washington, DC. And I think he is right about that.

The status quo stuff just seeps into your soul up there.

I think Perry could have maintained his focus but it will be hard to do.

Liz Cheney would have to take a pay cut to be a representative but I hope she goes into politics. We could use a woman like her.

I do believe, however, that his parents were legal immigrants, refugees from Cuba.

Yabut, were they naturalized before he was born?

I think selecting Rubio because he is ‘hispanic’ would be a really bad idea.

Most of the ‘hispanics’ in this country are Mexican. Rubio did point out that hispanics are suffering more under Obama’s policies. That goes for blacks as well, of course, but blacks will vote for Obama even if he calls them ‘the help.’

There are other reasons to consider Rubio. He brings youth and likeability, cannot be intimidated or befuddled by the press (Chris tried) and is kind of a breath of fresh air.

But although his experience is more valid than Obama’s, he is rather inexperienced. Maybe next time.

Why should we fall for the identity politics. Who says the Mexicans are going to leave the plantation when the DNC will offer them all sorts of goodies starting with Amnesty.

How about the Repubs for once choose somebody for their qualifications rather than what group they need to pander to. They will never win that way.

Paul Ryan would be a great choice and put the discussion right where it needs to be, the economy and budget. Newt would even be better or Bachmann, Santorum.

Pray for America

Great stuff as usual bray and thanks for posting everything you do AB much appreciated.
Rush was all over the Tea party accomplishments earlier this week and they have turned out to be one of the greatest allies freedom and justice has in the country.
Not only do they go after the left but squishy rinos are endangered as well.
Everyone from the Maine sisters to Orren Hatch/McQueeg and many others are now considered endangered species without any protection thanks to the Tea Party.
One of the greatest things of all is that after the Nov. election, as long as this:

http://patriotupdate.com/articles/what-is-scytl-why-should-you-be-very-very-concerned

does not happen, we will have many more reps at all levels and a new potus as well. The Tea party can take much of the credit.
Our election process is based on free and fair elections. Should that be taken away from us as has happened in Russia under the dictatorship of Vlad pootin’ and others we are in big trouble.

And then the photo-op moment is described like their watching the NBC Movie of the Week, all this sudden nail biting high anxiety ‘if the Troops all are going to make it out ok’. That’s a mission these Troops train for, they are well aware of the risk, and beyond that thank God these Troops are the Patriots of the USA! And now finally, if you are so worried, go do something about the road-side bomb factories, Iran, Pakistan, where-ever they originate from, in a vicious, don’t tread on us warning to the next wanna-be terrorist harboring state.

AB, let me thank you now for doing this thread before I forget.

Did I just hear the VP of the US say that “Will & Grace” taught us more about homosexuality than most anything else?

I don’t want to sound intolerant, because I’m not. But I am so sick about this rampant homosexual culture going on here and I really hated that Will and Grace show. THAT show’s title-named homosexual was absolutely nothing like your average homosexual, I gotta bridge to sell to anybody that bought it.

I live right in the hive of a hotbed of homosexuality here in Delaware. Only they’re very conservative, generally wealthy, mostly love their country and don’t go marching naked or in pink feathers nor do they demand same-sex marriage. They want a good economy, they want their privacy, they don’t want our country attacked, they want something done about this massive problem with illegal aliens....NOT WAIT! Heh. Much like their heterosexual breathren, you think?

I know it’s anecdotal but I’ll say it....every homosexual I’ve known, and with a hairdressing family I’ve known more than average not to mention living in Delaware’s Fire Island, got sick early and died young. Probably AIDS I guess but I dunno.

I know that homosexual sex is against nature and they’re not going to beat me up with their collective political correctness.

Still and so, I respect the lifestyle choice of others that they choose, or were born to I dunno, as adults.

I’ll always want marriage to be between two opposite sex adults cause you start changing, soon enough I shall be able to marry my dog...why not? I love my dog!

Like Biden just said on Meet the Press....”Who do you love?”

Two others DA reminds me of - Snidely Whiplash from Rocky and Bullwinkle and Oil Can Harry from Tom Terrific. Then, of course, there’s the obvious resemblance to Hitler.

When Marco Rubio tells you in person,as he did me, he really does not want the VP job that he would rather concentrate on his duties in the Senate, you tend to believe him.If he is asked however to serve his country in times of need as VP it will be difficult to turn down. So it all awaits us,pass the popcorn.

True about Quayle but he didn't undergo a tough as nails position for years as speaker of the Fla. House herding many cats from all areas of the state and then culminate it all with as tough a Senate election as yo can get with metro Charlie Crist.

Rubio has paid a lot of dues. He's no rookie.

Plus this guy is as Reaganesque as you can get. Add in fearless and you have a formidable candidate.

I think I basically agree with you about homosexuals.

I’ve known a lot myself and most of them are nothing like the prancing stereotypes. But they can be stereotyped, often in a good way.

They are fun, creative and usually successful financially (I’m talking mainstream homosexuals here) If there is an article in the paper about a beautifully decorated old house and garden that a couple achieved by wandering around quaint antique shops, etc. ... that couple is often two men.

My niece and I were discussing a gay friend and his romantic problems. He is a good person and would be faithful to a significant other. Problem: most gay men cannot be faithful. The best couples he knows ... one of them is always unfaithful. It’s about being men.

But, this is sooooo not my main issue. I’m not even appalled about gay marriage.

My social issue is abortion.

Homosexuals have a 20 yr shorter lifespan than normal people. this is due to having a 10,000 times greater chance of getting AIDS, Hepatitis C, Mono, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and every other sexual disease.

Yep, and the omitted other examples of the bad instincts and poor judgement of all the Democrats’ collectively. What is wrong with their policies and why aren’t they working as the state intent? Health care cost went up. Government stimulus failed. Surge in Afghanistan hasn’t produced a decisive win. Food-stamp use is way up.

That’s because of a fatal flaw in their lifestyle.

As I stated before, most of them CANNOT be faithful. The health risks you outlined are things even the most notorious womanizer could not achieve because it would be impossible.

So, if you think it is a sin, then they are being punished in this life.

Personally, from observing my daughter’s high school friends I think it is something they are born with. She was (and is) extraordinarily beautiful and gays are always attracted to that. She had a close gay friend who was in love with her, in a way, but he was gay. He couldn’t admit it to himself until he was a senior in HS.

My sister knew it when he was more interested in her earring collection than she was.
