And in your post is the kernel of why I do not think there will be elections in 2016.

But I also do not think Obama will finish his term.

I believe that he is one of two things:

1. The amateur that he appears to be to many. In which case he will go down hard.
2. He really IS as smart, and deceitful as many believe. In which case he is probably the beast in Revelation and it will take God’s overt, direct involvement to clean up the mess.

We’ll know soon enough.

It’s time for us like-minded people to stop beating ourselves over the head over the fact that Romney has weaseled his way to the top.

Good point. It might be 8 years of Romney. And after that, a democrat may well get elected. Hopefully, Romney will respond favorably to conservative pressing during his time in office.

Truce it is. I'll stop bashing Romney and his supporters for the remainder of the campaign. I'm a life long Republican and intend to vote that way save for the top of the ballot which likely go to the Constitution Party depending on whether there is a brokered convention and what its outcome may be.

I will make all effort to stop bashing Romney and I hope that his supporters will likewise abide by the truce and refrain from bashing Conservatives, even if they are 3rd party.

My focus is on getting my small farm productive. The political stuff is but a side show for me. The parties are too similar no for me to care much who controls what.

The analogy I use over and over: It is like holding an election for the crew of the titanic after the water has consumed the C deck. I’m focused on finding nails to use to help me turn a few deck chairs into a life boat for me and my family. That’s what matters at this point.

Jim - I used to be much more active here on FR, “back in the day”..in the Clinton years..late 90’s, etc. In recent years, though, I’ve been a lurker. I wanted to come out of “lurkerdom”, though, to respond to your post.

Well said!!! Your post stirred quite a bit of emotion in me, and truthfully, I teared up a bit. I love my country so much, and am so worried about the direction it is going. Especially now, since my husband and I have been blessed with our first grandchild - only 8 weeks old...I look at him and try to envision what the future holds for him.

Anyway - just wanted to chime in and thank you for the moving post you wrote.
