John Kerry, 3/6/2004:

“President Bush has overpromised and underdelivered on job growth.” Unemployment rate then: 5.6%

Let me guess.. the drop to 8.1% is a result of tens of thousands of potential workers being abducted by aliens.

These reports are getting downright comical.

According to the Bureau of labor statistics, unemployment is at 14.5%.

A new record has also been set. 88.4 million people are not in the workforce.
Unless Washington has a remake, and the Oboma Administration is fired, things are going to get a lot worse.

Over the last 15 weeks, the revised numbers, those numbers reported in secret, have added 92 thousand more unemployed people that go unnoticed.

Read this:

The Addbacks: +22K From Seasonal; +206K From Birth Death

The seasonal addback in April was +22K, a rapid break from the last 3 years when April saw a negative seasonal adjustment following the traditional huge positive adjustments in the January-March period, which in turn means that the record warm winter give back has not even started! As a result, the seasonal addbacks in 2012 are now a massive 4,499,000 jobs: jobs that have not been added but are expected to materialize based on historical seasonal patterns. And just as importantly, in April the Birth-Death addition was a whopping 206K, far greater than the comparable addition in 2010 and 2011, and much bigger than expected, which brings the year total now to a +20K cumulative total. It means, that by rough estimation, the reality is that in April the unadjusted, unbirth/deathed number was a decline of -111,000, and likely far worse once the true weather adjustments start taking place. This number is corroborated by the Household Survey which dropped by 169,000. So much for the recovery.

They are definitely cooking the books.

More insight from ZeroHedge:

Unemployment by race/ethnicity:

Asians - 5.2%

Whites - 7.4%

Hispanics - 10.3%

Blacks - 13.0%

At some point, the radical left will go after Asians like they go after Jews today.

Another tidbit:

Adult unemployment by gender:

Adult Women - 7.4%

Adult Men - 7.5%

People Not In Labor Force Soar By 522,000, Labor Force

Participation Rate Lowest Since 1981

it is just getting sad now. In April the number of people not in the labor force rose by a whopping 522,000 from 87,897,000 to 88,419,000. This is the highest on record. The flip side, and the reason why the unemployment dropped to 8.1% is that the labor force participation rate just dipped to a new 30 year low of 64.3%.

Now... if Mitt Romney really had the desire to win in November, he’d use THIS month’s report as a policy springboard in a major speech to explain why that 8.1% number is illusory, make the point that America is far more capable than it’s showing to create employment... and couch those points in a larger vision of where he wants to take this country economically... with specifics detailing how he intends to get it done

He needs make it clear to a national audience (NOT waiting ‘til the convention) that we are all seeing very clear choices.

But... he won’t.

What caused the .1% drop? The “unseasonably warm” winter or “seasonably warm” spring?

Voodoo math. The only reason the unemployment rate continues to drop is because millions who want to work have stopped looking and are no longer counted as unemployed. Failure = success (at least in the eyes of the MSM).

Do conservatives have a culprit that they can demonstrate to people is causing the economy to stagnate like this ? How can they convince ordinary Americans that the economy is not improving like they might think it is and how can they prove that it actually isnt Wall Street and the CEOs and Conservative corporations not paying enough taxes that is causing this, but rather too much govt interference and Americans having to pull the weight of unproductive people in our society ? Remember, they need to be able to be convincing enough to counter Obama, that means conservatives need undeniable, unrefutable proof here; they are going up against a leader who can make them believe he can singlehandedly cure all of their cancers and bring the dead to life.
