I think someone will take the fall for it, though it will be a slap on the wrist; I do think someone should lose their job for it; if a daycare worker did it they’d be canned at the very least.

I think with the economy continuing to tank we will see more and more of these, and actual silver coins. I am sure there are people who have stashes of cash or coins who will begin to dip in to them.

there ought to be a fund paid into by their union dues that pays out for these morons “mistakes” instead of lawsuit $ always being paid for be taxpayers.

I disagree. Punitive damages should be paid by the officer directly, and from the pension funds that federal agents receive retirement payments. That way they all pay.
