Occupy Cleveland has decided it's time to broaden its base.
Members of the movement will set up an information table in front of Marcs Plaza on Detroit Avenue this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
I just want to be very clear: we are not occupying Lakewood, said Anthony Hayne, who is organizing the information session.
Hayne, a Lakewood resident since 2001, said there will be about six or seven members of Occupy Cleveland, which stems from the Occupy Wall Street movement, at the table Saturday.
Were not doing this to try to force people to join our movement, he said. Were just trying to give people who want to join our movement a chance to listen, and we want to listen to what they have to say, as well.
Mayor Michael Summers said Hayne contacted him to ask if the group needed to apply for any permits.
They did not, he said.
Theres nothing to prevent them from distributing information on public property, Summers said. Its their first amendment right.
Hayne said the group is hoping to reach out to suburban residents who might be interested in participating in Occupy Cleveland, but may think only residents of Cleveland proper are welcome.
This is the first suburb were going to do this in, but it definitely wont be the last, he said.
Saw mention that these bombers were also quoted about Trayvon and how the shooting was so violent etc etc. Anyone have some links?
> Occupy Cleveland organizer ?
Is that the same as a community organizer?
Lakewood = gay capitol of Cleveland.
Lots of libs there.
“Were not doing this to try to force people to join our movement,”
-good move Hayne, it’s gotta be tough having a doctor pull a table outta your can.
Someone should show up there and demand half the space on the tabletop to sell jams and jellies, you know, redistribute the tabletop- because it’s fair. And video his reaction.
Occupy Cleveland? I thought this crowd had totally taken over Cleveland 30 yrs. ago when they elected Dennis Kucinich as their mayor.
Occupy’s a yawn..
From the MSM...silence.
If the idiot holding the pistol pulls the trigger now, say bye-bye to Mr. Thumb!
