Romney Tries to Channel Reagan, Gets Obama Instead
http://www.conservativehq.com ^ | 4/25/12 | Richard A. Viguerie

Much has been made of Mitt Romney’s failure to even once use the word “conservative” in his post-election speech on April 24.

No big surprise here on that one – Romney has made it clear all during the primary season he plans to win the nomination, and if possible the November election, without conservative or Tea Party support, so why change now?

While Romney’s failure to use the word “conservative” in his speech didn’t surprise us, one aspect of the speech was more than a little odd.

It was obvious the speech was intended to make Romney sound like President Reagan, but instead it made him sound more like Barack Obama.

It seemed to us that Romney’s speech writers went through a couple of old Reagan speeches with their dictionary of synonyms to insure that the sunny optimism for America’s future that was one of the qualities of Reagan’s best speeches came through loud and clear without opening Governor Romney to a charge of obvious plagiarism.

However, “He’s asking us to accept that Washington knows best – and can provide all,” and “We believe in America. We believe in ourselves. Our greatest days are still ahead. We are, after all, Americans!” and other phrases sounded so much like Reagan that the Romney campaign should probably send Reagan speech writer Tony Dolan a check just to be safe.

Unfortunately, the Reaganesque phrases didn’t actually connect Romney with any course of action or policy, and in that they smacked more of Barack Obama than Ronald Reagan.

One of Reagan’s great strengths as a communicator was his ability to build a case for his policies by presenting facts, and conservative ideas and philosophy leavened with a little humor.

If Romney is worse than 0bama as a vocal minority on this once previously great site attest why don’t you just freakin vote for 0bama. That’ll really show the GOP now won’t it?

Real conservatives won’t vote for leftists in either party.

It isn’t very hard to figure out. For free people anyway.

to make Romney sound like President Reagan, but instead it made him sound more like Barack Obama.

And, in reality, he's a bishop in a cult. Satan appears as an angel of light to deceive as it take on a good image and lies it's way through. Nothing new under the sun.

So now the root is laid bare. It’s a Mormon issue.

heard the best routine on Beck today...

why are you voting for Obama.?
Because he’s not a communist.

then glenn kept asking, “What if you found out THIS or That about Romney, but he was still not a communist?” answer: romney.

that’s why I will vote for romney..because he is NOT Obama and this country can’t afford another term of Obama...we can not give Obama the green light.

I guess I’m just not one of the, “I hate the republicans and so I just won’t vote. THAT will show them!”

There won’t be a US left to “show them”.

This great site IS for GOD, Family, Country.

Where is God in a pro homo, pro baby killer candidate?

Where is the Family in a same sex marriage and pro baby killing candidate?

Where is the plus for our country in a same sex marriage, pro baby killing, liberal appointing judges, socialistic healthcare candidate? We have that already and wanted to get rid of it!!

Don’t blame this site - it is a source of info. If you didn’t vote for Newt that this great supported, blame yourself!! HE IS the TOTAL opposite of mitt and barry!

.

We've never met ... I presume that since you're at Free Republic, you're a decent man ...

"Mormonism".

It's a "classic cult" ... Joseph Smith was just an early version of Jim Jones ...

Jesus Christ, the Son of God ... "is not" Satan's brother ...

Nor is Satan ... a "son of God" ... by implication ...

You appear to be a legitimate seeker of Truth ...

Pray that Christ Jesus opens your eyes to whatever you need to see ... and He "will do that" ...

Peace,

Patton-at-Bastogne

Is the Mormon PRO LIFE, PRO traditional marriage or did he INITIATE same sex marriage and INITIATE a $50 a clip baby killing, Initiate and embraces his SOCIALISTIC style healthcare, and appointed liberal judges?

So shut the trap. He can’t hide from what he is - as much as you want to cover and hush hush - his bishop status in a cult.

It just makes me heartsick to see how many alleged conservatives embrace party or clerical serfdom. It is as if they had voluntarily submitted to moral lobotomies, just for the ‘security’ of being in a herd with other domesticated chattel.

The light is not quite out on a free and independent yeoman’s republic, but it sure is flickering badly. This light has burned since the Magna Carta, and it is nearly extiguished during our watch.

I couldn’t care less that the pathetic piece of trash is a Mormon. I’m a lot more concerned that he’s a democrat and doesn’t have the man parts to admit it.

I don’t vote to SHOW anyone ANYTHING!! I vote for the BEST for America! It’s not about me, you or anyone else - it is about AMERICA!

And Mitt and Barry are the WORST for America. Mitt’s supporters certainly showed how little they care about America.
