There’s outrage in Norfolk, Va., today after a white couple was attacked by a group of 100 black teenagers, and the local newspaper did not report on the incident for two weeks, despite the victims being employees of the paper.
Even today, the Virginian-Pilot did not cover the crime as news, but rather as an opinion piece by columnist Michelle Washington. “Wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim,” Washington wrote, describing the onslaught that began when Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami stopped at a red light while driving home from a show on a Saturday night. A crowd of at least 100 black young people was on the sidewalk.
“Rostami locked her car door. Someone threw a rock at her window. Forster got out to confront the rock-thrower, and that’s when the beating began. …
“The victim’s friend, a young woman, tried to pull him back into his car. Attackers came after her, pulling her hair, punching her head and causing a bloody scratch to the surface of her eye. She called 911. A recording told her all lines were busy. She called again. Busy. On her third try, she got through and, hysterical, could scream only their location. Church and Brambleton. Church and Brambleton. Church and Brambleton. It happened four blocks from where they work, here at the Virginian-Pilot.”
Washington says neither suffered grave injuries, but both were out of work for a week. Forster’s torso ached from blows to his ribs, and he retained a thumb-sized bump on his head. Rostami reportedly fears to be alone in her home., while Forster wishes he’d stayed in the car.
The columnist admits the story has not, until today, appeared in the Virginian-Pilot.

Jackson and Sharpton have never in their history, and are not now, stirring up a stink because he’s possibly got black ancestors, dozens of black on black murders, including of an infant and a six year old girl playing on her own porch, have occurred in just the past weeks and they are nowhere to be found. They jumped into this for one reason and for one reason only-because a man who is not perceived by himself, the media, the nbpp, or the race hustlers, to be black, shot a man who is black. So all I need to know is this-it’s clear that only when a black is killed by a non-black (when the opposite is what occurs more often), does it matter to this bunch and their bleeding-heart enablers. When this bunch comes out to protest because a black killed a black (especially a baby) or a black kills a white (which happens multitudes more times than whites killing blacks, see the Channon/Newsome murders for an especially heinous rape/murder/torture, or the elderly couple in Tulsa OK) then I will only begin to wonder if possibly they have an interest in justice and not power games and guilt-tripping and race card-playing. But I won’t hold my breath.

I’ve seen that site before, thanks for the reminder-just bookmarked it. That’s kind of what I’m talking about, but more a kind of Drudge Report strictly for reporting black on white crime, a site accessed by the masses (hence the need to be free of silly rhetoric). We can read of countless occurrences of black on black crime in the msm, the rare white on black crime is of course headline news (they’ll even dig up a month-old crime if it serves their purpose), but black on white crime, if reported at all, is given short shrift, often with the race of victim and/or perpetrator blanked. This is being done purposely to skew the reality which is that blacks commit most interracial crime upon whites. The rape statistics are especially skewed.

I’d like to know what’s going on with that-my understanding is that 2007 is the last year complete crime statistics broken down by race were published by the Feds (the best compilation I’ve seen on it, called “The Color Of Crime” is from 2005, I believe). Even then, they were fudging the statistics with Hispanics depending on whether they were victim or perpetrator.

This is what I call a "road incident". This is not a case of what kind of fortress you have or how much ammo you have in the old bunker. This was a situation where two people caught in a bad situation, ended up in the "victim" box on the police report. AND ALL OF THIS CR@P IS BEING FUELED BY THE MSM AS PART OF AN AGENDA. This is exactly why, on my daily commute of 138 miles, my Excursion always has:
a) no less than half a tank of fuel (44 gallon tank)
b) 2 cell phones operable, with chargers and VHF/UHF comms as well
c) one EDC (Every Day Carry) bag with a back-up Glock 31, loaded, with 2 extra mags, and various "good to have" items like food, water, and first aid
d) one AR-15 in M-4 configuration with tac vest (360 rounds) and an extra 6-pack of mags (180 rounds)
e) tactical 12 gauge pump carrying a total of 16 rounds on/in the weapon and an extra 36 rounds in the ammo pouch
f) one grouchy old driver with his primary sidearm, who is not willing to take an @$$ whipping from anyone
g) and AAA just in case I have a breakdown that I can't remedy on my own with what I have on board

You know that I should probably let this comment go by, but I gotta respond.
I am most confused about how the racial categories have changed and expanded over the years. I also dislike that phrase “brown people” although I will admit my own child said it to me in youthful innocence years ago.
My understanding, from my own totally devoid of any racial prejudice father was that there were 3 races. Caucasian (white), Negro (black) and Asian (yellow).
I do understand that these 3 categories do not admit of a needed group of “indians” or “indigenous people” such as American Indians and their descendants, esp. those who now are called “hispanic” in the USA but who make up the vast majority of the population of Latin America, and other folks who are precisely described as “pacific islanders”, etc.
But it seems to me that somewhere along the way the left has again left us with three categories: Caucasian (white/bad); Slant-eyed Asian (yellow/bad) and Everybody else (brown to black and good as gold).
Sorry, this is a post that would cause my good old lefty ex-friend to call me a racist.
Oh yeah, and btw, where Elizabeth Warren would fit in, I have no idea. But I have no doubt she’d do her best to squeeze her little phoney multi-culti butt in as well as she could.
I’m willing to move to world where each of us is judged by the content of his/her own character. When the left is willing to do that, let me know.

The confusion is equating Caucasian with White. Skin color has little to do with race.
If the skeletons of Khadafi, Ayatollah Khomenei and Saddam Hussein were found in a park somewhere, the coroner would report that the skeletons of three white men were found.
All Europeans, Arabs, Iranians, Indians, etc. are basically Caucasians.
There really are only either four or five races; Caucasian, Sub-Saharan African, Australian/Papuan (Aborigines, etc.), Asian, and then some class American Indians separately, others include them as a subgroup of Asians.

And your father was correct -- Caucasians come in a variety of colors, from pale white Scandanavians to nearly black Dravidians. Even the biggest chunk of Caucasians - Indo-Europeans are as "color diverse".
I meant to point out that if Rostami was considered the "enemy" by this 100, then it's almost as if some negroid folks want to declare war on everytone (note of course "some" -- I don't include people like Clarence Thomas etc. in this list -- a person who is truly past the racial game)
Automobile GPS devices need to avoid high food stamp density areas. Frequently GPS devices innocently lead people into areas where they end up fearing for their life. There are special GPSs for truckers to keep them on truck routes. We need special GPS versions for those that aren't carrying weapons.
It's also why Dems advocate gun control. They know it won't reduce crime. It's all about rendering the victims of crime unable to fight back.

Officer had a point. Nobody from the neighborhood is going to snitch on the guys who did it, the guys who did it will have a dozen people willing to swear the guys were at a party a mile away the whole time, the perps were probably juveniles who would not be subject to long jail times, and the judge would cut them loose regardless due to prison overcrowding. Their attitude was "What's the point?"
I see that nothing has changed on Church Street in the 35 years since I lived in Norfolk. Back then when we drove down Church Street my friend would announce, “Please do not feed the animals. Keep your doors locked, windows closed, and hands and arms inside the vehicle at all times. If your vehicle becomes disabled, remain inside and blow horn until help arrives...”
Even in the absence of "stand your ground laws," under the commonlaw and the statutes in many states, a person has an obligation to retreat only if they reasonably believe that they can do so with complete safety to themself and others. In other words, if a person reasonably believes that they cannot retreat without risk of death or serious bodily injury to themself or another perosn, then they have the right to use deadly force.
From my viewpoint, there are really only two races: (1) the people who are productive workers, and raise their kids to be likewise, and (2) those who want to loot the stuff of those in category 1, and raise their kids likewise.
From my viewpoint, Thomas Sowell and the 100 thugs from the article have nothing in common except their melanin levels.
