Romney's Gay Foreign Policy Spokesman Resigns (After only two weeks on the job)
Christian Post ^ | 05/01/2012 | By Napp Nazworth

Richard Grenell, an openly gay foreign policy expert hired by Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, has resigned after only two weeks on the job.

In a statement obtained Tuesday by Jennifer Rubin, a conservative columnist for The Washington Post, Grenell said, "While I welcomed the challenge to confront President Obama's foreign policy failures and weak leadership on the world stage, my ability to speak clearly and forcefully on the issues has been greatly diminished by the hyper-partisan discussion of personal issues that sometimes comes from a presidential campaign."

Grenell also thanked Romney for not making his sexual orientation an issue when he was hired.

The Romney campaign had come under fire in some conservative circles for hiring Grenell. Writing for National Review, Matthew Franck argued that Grenell's staunch pro-gay-marriage advocacy could mean that he would pursue an agenda that elevates gay rights above religious freedom in a future Romney administration.

Grenell was also criticized for using crude language talking about women on his Twitter account. He later apologized and deleted the tweets.

Grenell had previously worked in the President George W. Bush administration for Ambassadors John Negroponte, John Danforth, John Bolton and Zalmay Khalilizad.

Two months after leaving his United Nations position in 2008, he criticized the Bush administration for not backing a United Nations declaration calling for an end to laws that discriminate against homosexuals.

In a message to Rubin, a Romney campaign spokesperson said, "We are disappointed that Ric decided to resign from the campaign for his own personal reasons. We wanted him to stay because he had superior qualifications for the position he was hired to fill."

The Presumptive GOP has etch-a-sketched his first decision.
Now if he can etch-a-sketch his attack on the boy scouts, then maybe Romney has a chance of fooling some conservative that’s not paying attention about what Romney really is about.

Grenell doesn’t need anyones help making his sexual orientation an issue.

“Grenell also thanked Romney for not making his sexual orientation an issue when he was hired.”

Some conservatives aren’t paying attention, and some are willfully ignoring the facts, having convinced themselves that compromising with evil buys them the illusion they’re doing a good thing.

Hard to believe there are no straight foreign-policy experts about.

"Hmmm, do I hire a homosexual advisor and get the vote of a tiny slice of the 1% homosexual population and alienate millions of social conservatives?
"Or do I hire a straight advisor and risk the opposite?
"Hmmm, why don't I carve out a middle position by picking a homosexual then saying I had to let him go because of those intolerant social conservatives....?"

Romney is an abortionist/homosexualist/statist. Always has been, always will be. And a liar to boot. He now claims he’s always been pro-life, and ALL of his positions (quite frankly) have been conservative, and that his crowning achievement, RomneyCare, is a conservative free-market solution.

This means he believes that the positions he has long advocated for like abortion is conservative. That gay rights, global warming, gun control, liberal judges, TARP, bailouts, the takeover of GM, stimulus spending, never ending increases to the debt limit, compulsory health insurance, mandates against the people, tax penalties for non-compliance, forcing hospitals and Christian organizations to perform abortions, promote homosexualism, etc, all positions that he’s advocated for and some of which he still advocates for today are conservative positions.

The man is a liar and or an idiot if he believes that his positions are conservative and always have been!! And he’s stabbing us in the back every chance he gets!!

Ann Coulter Romney, the self decribed GOP-E’s “Judy Garland” - isn’t going to be happy about THIS news.

Ann Coulter Romney or the Next Arianna Huffington?
http://www.ThurstonHowell.Net

I must admit that for a few years, mainly during the Slick Willie era, I was an admirer of Coulter. But as the years passed she began to resemble a women seduced by public adulation. Perhaps she spent too much time at the New York cocktail parties.

As most of us know, Ann is now the “Honorary Chairperson” of GoProud’s Advisory Council. Goproud is a national organization of “gay conservatives” and they claim that Coulter “has put them on the map”. Thanks Ann! You have really done so much to blur the line of distinction between the GOP & the DNC.

Perhaps just is bad is the fact that she is at the very least a personal friend and defender of Bill Maher, one of the best known antagonists to Christians and conservatives in the entire nation. She was recently on Sean Hannity’s show defending Maher as she spoke of how “funny” Maher is. She claims that we do not see the better sides of Maher because only his controversial comments make the headlines.

That Coulter has the audacity to defend Bill Maher as “very funny”- after he made fun of Rick Santorum’s sick child - is by itself all the evidence one needs to rightly conclude that this women has a glaring character flaw and is to conservatism what Benny Hinn is to Christendom.

(video here)

Coulter praises Maher approximately 6 minutes into this interview with Hannity.

It is no surprise that she has sold out the 70% of the party who are conservatives in favor of her east coast liberal crush Mitt Romney. Let’s see how many books the 30% buy after the elections are over and they throw her away like a paid escort.

Many of the people who purchased Ann Coulter’s books and paid ridiculous quantities of cash for her to come out and speak were the pure conservatives of the Republican Party. I cannot imagine that she is going to be raking in the kind of money to which she has become accustomed.

At this point, if Coulter was the keynote speaker at a conservative event I attended, many conservatives would be more inclined to throw a pie in her face than to applaud her.

So Coulter is betting the farm and has tied her fortune to Mitt Romney winning the presidency. Now thanks to the pioneering of Mitt Romney, Barney Frank and Ted Kennedy in Massachusetts, we now have homosexual “marriage” being legalized across the blue states of America. It is only logical that some polygamists will be DEMANDING the rights too.

So when that happens, if Romney was President (hypothetically), what is the likelihood that he would intervene in attempts to legislate homosexual and polygamist marriage? What is the chance he would VETO such legislation?

Well, we can all pretty much assume that Mitt Romney is on board with that guy after whom they named their University – Brigham Young.

If we look at what the great Brigham Young had to say about the issue, it is lucidly clear what we could expect from Romney if faced with federal legislation:

“Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned; and I will go still further and say, take this revelation, or any other revelation that the Lord has given, and deny it in your feelings, and I promise that you will be damned.

Brigham Young - JoD 3:266 (July 14, 1855)
Inside Mitt’s mind: Set thought captions, “Let’s see, approve of plural marriage and shack up with multiple babes - or- be damned to hell? Hmmmmm….”

I know it sounds crazy but these days, everything sounds crazy until it becomes plausible, then it becomes reality in a few more years.During the Florida primaries, Ann bragged of a scenario (on Fox & Friends) in which she went to Romney on the campaign trail and told him “you owe me big-time”. So perhaps Ann has hope of becoming the NEXT Ann Romney. As Ann Coulter Romney, she wouldn’t have to keep hawking books for a living.

So if Mitt Romney becomes the nominee and loses the election (a likelihood), having betrayed her audience repeatedly - will she be forced to go to the other side and become the next Arianna Huffington?

No doubt with her abrasive style, she could make a FORTUNE selling bs to the left. (She’s already half-way there with her homosexual connections and her Bill Maher relationship.)

The gullible left would eat it up like WWE fans . Face it, we had some good times but she probably never won over a single liberal in her career. Rallying the troops was always her shtik but realistically - that gig is over.

You and others have posted that Romney favors gay marriage, but when I search I find this:

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governorship_of_Mitt_Romney#Same-sex_marriage

Same-sex marriage
For more details on this topic, see Same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.

When he ran for governor in 2002, Romney declared his opposition to same-sex marriage.[71] “Call me old fashioned, but I don’t support gay marriage nor do I support civil union,” said Romney in an October 2002 gubernatorial debate. He also voiced support for basic domestic partnership benefits for gay couples. Romney won the endorsement of the Log Cabin Club of Massachusetts, a Republican gay-rights group, who in 2005 accused him of reneging on his 2002 campaign commitment to support some benefits for gay couples.[72] He also opposed an amendment, then before the General Court, that would have banned same-sex marriage and outlawed all domestic partnership benefits for gay couples. When campaigning in 2002, Romney’s stated position was that “All citizens deserve equal rights, regardless of their sexual orientation. While he does not support gay marriage, Mitt Romney believes domestic partnership status should be recognized in a way that includes the potential for health benefits and rights of survivorship.”[73]

Romney strongly opposed same-sex marriage during his governorship. He emphasized his desire to “protect the institution of marriage” while denouncing discrimination against gays and lesbians. “Like me, the great majority of Americans wish both to preserve the traditional definition of marriage and to oppose bias and intolerance directed towards gays and lesbians,” Romney said in 2004.[74]

On June 2, 2006, Romney sent a letter to each member of the U.S. Senate urging them to vote in favor of the Marriage Protection Amendment.[75] In the letter, Romney stated that the debate over same-sex unions is not a discussion about “tolerance”, but rather a “debate about the purpose of the institution of marriage”. Romney wrote, “Attaching the word marriage to the association of same-sex individuals mistakenly presumes that marriage is principally a matter of adult benefits and adult rights. In fact, marriage is principally about the nurturing and development of children. And the successful development of children is critical to the preservation and success of our nation.”

Romney’s letter was his second effort to persuade the U.S. Senate to pass the Defense of Marriage Amendment. On June 22, 2004 he testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, urging its members to protect the definition of marriage. “Marriage is not an evolving paradigm,” said Romney, “but is a fundamental and universal social institution that bears a real and substantial relation to the public health, safety, morals, and general welfare of all of the people of Massachusetts.”[76]

Romney attempted to block implementation of the decision of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court that legalized same-sex marriage in 2003. Romney criticized the decision as harming the rights of children:

Now do you have some legitimate source that says otherwise, or is this the real story?

He’s an activist, but there’s a humanitarian case to be made internationally when homosexuals can receive the death penalty. What made him qualified for Bush and Romney? Does anyone have any background on the guy’s qualifications as opposed to his homosexual advocacy?

He criticized the Bush Admin for not supporting a “United Nations declaration calling for an end to laws that discriminate against homosexuals.” United Nations = liberal world bureaucracy. I wonder what kinds of laws he’s talking about. I’m for freedom of association.

But, oh well, we have to vote for him. Remember, we’re skeered of the alternative. /s

Not a chance.

I don't buy the spin for one second.

The gay guy became a liability to Romney....and he got das boot quickly.

The can of worms has been taken care of professionally......and everyone gets off the hook with their facades/reputations intact.

This is how major league campaign problems are handled....surgically, fast and as humanely as possible.

Sodomy skills are very important in global diplomacy. Maybe Romney will make him Ambassador to Greece.
