Ron Paul Vows To Stay In 2012 Race. Untill all votes are Counted. [May not endorse Mitt]
Daily Paul ^ | April 30, 2012

The libertarian, who is experiencing surge of support in delegates, made the statement after going head-to-head with Nobel Prize-winning economist -- and ideological opposite -- Paul Krugman in a debate about the U.S. economy.

"Depends on what his platform is going to be," he said in an interview with Bloomberg's "Street Smart." "If every single thing in the platform I disagree with, it's gonna be tough [to endorse him (Romney)] . If it's 100 percent opposite of everything I've said on civil liberties, on war issues, on spending cuts, on monetary policy, what could I do?"

He continued: "We have millions of people now supporting our campaign, and millions that haven't been heard of because they are independents and Democrats that aren't happy with Obama...

In the meantime, his minions (or faux grass roots as the case may be), are slithering NOW to accumulate delegates to Tampa, in the name of "Blue Republicans" (here and here. By even their definition, a group of Democrats and Unenrolled, temporary for "one year" republicans, setting up to rabble rouse and OWS'ize the convention.

I do agree in this sense, how after months and months of trying to convince people that the other guy is a scab on the buttocks of the earth, then turn around and endorse them as the best guy possible if you lose.
Paul has no chance but if he stays in he is raking in the $$$ for his retirement coffers.

Why do you care one way or the other unless you are a Romney supporter?

Why should he endorse Romney?
Like he said, what do he and Romney have in common politically? Virtually nothing. The fact that Obama doesn’t either is no reason to endorse him just because he has an R after his name.

The Republican party depends too heavily on people just blindly endorsing someone because they have an R after their name. That’s not good enough.

I am a Newt supporter, and usually refer to that guy as “Rotney”. That said, the republican party has to be fixed, and I do not believe it must be broken further by the likes of democrats in republican clothing doing dirty work in Tampa.
Rotney will be doing enough damage as it is; however presuming no magic in the next few months vis-a-vis a Newt or Palin, I’m ABO (”I’ll vote for the contents of my septic tank rather than zer0”).

Maybe, but if Newt drops out, Paul will be the only counter balance to Romney's rabid Socialism.

Paul got 1/4 of the caucus vote in North Dakota, behind Santorum's 40%.

You cannot fix it without breaking it apart completely. If someone else is doing the work for you, let them do it and throw out the crooks. The best strategy is to support freedom loving candidates for Congress and the Senate and help anyone who wants to break the stranglehold of the Karl Rove Republicans on the GOP.

Remember how they ganged up with the Dims and attacked Herman Cain? I do not see why we should foolishly support them and strengthen their hands.

Of the two candidates at this point, one will strengthen the American economy but do nothing about foreign enemies, while the other will destroy the American economy and spend a lot of money on foreign affairs by constructing new buildings for diplomates and by giving aid to leftist NGOs for awareness campaigns in foreign nations.

On social affairs, one has a relaxed policy on drugs while the other supports baby-killing.

For whatever reason, many conservatives seem to be more repulsed by the lax policy on drugs and ignorance of foreign enemies than by the combination of baby-killing and socialism. They seem to be able to grit their teeth and tolerate baby-killing and socialism but don't seem to be able to grit their teeth and tolerate a lax policy on drugs and choking of funds to foreign citizens and leftist NGOs even if that is in exchange for a strong economic policy.

I supported Sarah Palin, Herman Cain and Michel Bachmann, and Newt to a limited extent. Now I am okay with anyone destroying the establishment's grip on GOP and setting the stage for someone new to take over the party. I don't care if the Dims do it or if Ron Paul does it.

So would I.

I would also vote for the contents of medical waste drums in all the Massachusetts abortuaries before I would vote for Bishop Willard.

No, that describes the policies of the two candidates remaining in the race and those who support Mitt Romney at this stage of the race. If you support either of them, you support their policies. If you do not agree with me, go ahead and describe their policies.

From the folks I have talked with, it'd be a lot of farmers and ranchers who are tired of the government's nose everywhere, and quite a few young oilfield hands --who'd lose their job in a second over a dirty urine test.

Maybe there are a few dopers in the overall group, but I guess even dopers can figure out neither of the two candidates it looks like we'll get are going to fix anything.

Before you have an apoplexy, he wasn't my first pick, but I'd vote for Paul over Obama, and trust the hawks in Congress and the DOD to keep defense running.

I do agree with you. My reference to Margaret Sanger is because I think her philosophy is the deep dark worm in the hearts of those who talk pro-life and vote Culture of Death. I say ‘Margaret Sanger’ not in triumph but in glum diagnosis.

My tagline addresses the distinction between those two ungodly and inhumane candidates. Sorry for the confusion.

And have no idea why you are so fixated on third parties, oh well whatever floats your boat.
Oh, yea trolls are little creatures that live under the bridge, pretty sure they don’t have internet access.

This thread is about Ron Paul not Romney.

I only know one thing for sure—Obama and Romney will NEVER get a vote from me.

Nor from me. as Jim Robinson says:

"Romney is an abortionist/homosexualist/statist. Always has been, always will be. And a liar to boot. He now claims he’s always been pro-life, and ALL of his positions (quite frankly) have been conservative, and that his crowning achievement, RomneyCare, is a conservative free-market solution.

This means he believes that the positions he has long advocated for like abortion is conservative. That gay rights, global warming, gun control, liberal judges, TARP, bailouts, the takeover of GM, stimulus spending, never ending increases to the debt limit, compulsory health insurance, mandates against the people, tax penalties for non-compliance, forcing hospitals and Christian organizations to perform abortions, promote homosexualism, etc, all positions that he’s advocated for and some of which he still advocates for today are conservative positions.

The man is a liar and or an idiot if he believes that his positions are conservative and always have been!! And he’s stabbing us in the back every chance he gets!!"

Link

I would add only that those MittBots on FR are also "stabbing us in the back every chance they get! It will be interesting to see what Paul actually does or if he is just trying to sell Mitt his endorsement for concessions. I'm looking at Virgil Goode

I bet Mitt's money men are already knocking on Virgil's door with cash in their hot little hands trying to buy him. Selling endorsements to Mitt has become a very hot market in the past six months.
