Thanks shalom. Seems there is always a cry baby in the crowd.
By the way we had two boats last week that released 47 and 50 sailfish in a single day.
Another boat had 8 Tiger sharks in two weeks from 400-800 lbs. Some of the battles lasting over four hours to catch and release the huge sharks.

I saw snippets of it. Why is it,Krugman’s eyes always look like he just grabbed a handful of controlled substances and chugged them all before coming on the air? He’s a piece of work.

West would be the best V.P. pick but I think he will go for Rubio.

Now the commie libs are claiming GM and Chrysler are great success stories and laughing at the Conservatives. Krugman’s answer to this recession is to hire back the 200K teachers who have been laid off. Yeah, that should pull us out.

He is also claiming private sector jobs are back to their original levels. He forgets to mention those who quit looking and doesn’t mention the housing industry.

It is bigger gummit all the time.

Now Krugman is claiming Social InSecurity is fine. All we have to do is improve the economy which means more gummit stimulus. Then finally claims the poor are not living as long as the rich, let’s see his source on that lame claim. Those evil rich.

If we can get the “crazies” (Tea Party) out of Congress we can solve these economic problems.

There was some nice gal who would post what was said on the shows. I usually watched them later because of church.

My memory is a bit foggy these days, but I believe that was a dear, sweet soul named Bahbah who died a couple of years ago. AB! will remember. She was greatly loved and still missed by some.

I post very infrequently these days, primarily for two reasons.

First, certain deteriorating health issues make it extremely painful for me to type anything longer than brief comments. However, this thread and most of the regulars here are still part of the main reasons I keep reading FR regularly. It remains for the most part an oasis of civility, logic and informed commentary amid the rising tide of venom and vituperation sweeping through so many of the forum discussions. The folks here are the best of Free Republic - I've made a few good friends, and the rest tolerate me with courtesy and respect, even when I go off on what some consider some pretty wild tangents... /g

The second reason I don't post often is, as I shared with rodguy some time back, my assessment of our situation is significantly more dire than most are prepared to accept, and I have no wish nor would it serve any purpose to spread my pessimism around and discourage others.

Despite my pessimism, however, I believe it is still necessary for us to keep fighting, each in our own way and according to our own abilities. Members like bray, rodguy, Fishtalk, kabar and others are in the trenches fighting, and for that they have my utmost admiration. AB! in sponsoring this thread does his part, and all bring something to the table.

The bottom line is that no matter how dire the situation may be it remains our responsibility to continue the struggle, because we are literally at the point described so eloquently and chillingly by Churchill:

“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may be even a worse fate. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish then to live as slaves.”

This election is not business as usual, it is an existential decision point, not just for the USA, but for Western civilization itself, because if America fails to rise from the current crisis and falls into the beckoning abyss of tyranny, it's going to drag the rest of the world with it.

We (the constitutional Republic of the Founders) are still the last, best hope for freedom. I just hope enough of us can wake up and remember it in time.

Thanks to all who participate, and to any for whom I failed to give proper credit above please forgive my flagging memory.

“....all we hear from the regime is that we have 2% of the reserves and use 25% of the oil.”

The statistic isn’t complete. We use 25% of the world’s yearly petroleum output to create 40% of the world’s goods and services. It doesn’t fit the left’s agenda to recognize that we are already the world’s most efficient user of petro chemicals.......The world has a long way to catch up with us.

Is Madcommie the most condescending person on the planet. Continually interrupts and lies and goes back to the false cliches.

Thanks for the analysis.

I actually think Romney has the potential to rise to the occasion, both as a candidate and as a president, if elected.

As you say he is smart, and has smart and experienced advisers.

Thanks for stopping by tarheel, get better soon, you are in all our thoughts and prayers.

You are right as well. Bahbah--Barbara I think, she was from SC, was a tireless Freeper who followed show after show every Sunday and was unparalleled when it came to keeping us up on what was happening on show after show. She will always be missed here.

Exactly the worst part is that its a huge lie to say we only have 2% of the world’s reserves. Our reserves are unparalleled and truth be known will proably rival any producer out there once fully proven.

Amazing isn’t it, that Zero can get away with this.

If we could actually develop our natural resources, we would be out of this recession in a heartbeat. Energy creation would have this economy humming along.

Zero’s actions on this issue alone, should be enough to demonstrate his true intentions.

And I agree with whoever it was up stream, who says the future is “more dire than most are prepared to accept”. Never thought I would have these thoughts abut my country and our future.

You are right, my FRiend, and it was indeed dear FReeper Bahbah who was our top reporter on what was said on the shows. I still miss her and her wonderful reports, among other things. Still, and in fairness, we have many excellent Sunday show reporters, such as most recently Bray, posting on the Krugman on the Meet the Press roundtable a few moments ago. Rodguy911, along with the weather and fishing reports from the Florida keys, goes out of his way to post DNC Dave Gregory's weekly mind mumblings, too.

Perhaps we need another round of reporter badges passed out, and I'll certainly encourage all to post what they see on the shows, but I really don't think that's been the issue.

Free Republic has changed. It has gotten courser and people here have gotten more mean spirited, and thread fights between two hard heads can go on for hundreds of posts.

Also, Free Republic is middle aged now, and the vibrancy of its youth, when we were taking on Bill Clinton, grifter, and the wooly headed liberals and move on (dot org) is no longer our defining issue. The terror attacks and the Bush years also wore us out, and I think that 2008 really depressed so many of us, that despite all our efforts, Zero still managed to fool enough to win, and we didn't have a way to challenge those who attacked Sarah and spread lies...

Fast forward a year or so and there came the TEA party, I honestly think it was inspired and encouraged by so many on this site. We did well to regain the House of Representatives given such a huge deficit in numbers the Republicans had. But in reality, the red states just got redder and the blue states stayed the same, and we've lost a lot of ground in Colorado, Nevada and Virginia.

There is still a HUGE fight ahead of us and now is not the time to pale and leave. As Miss Marple said up thread, we must overcome our fear and speak out. We might be banned from here, but we cannot give up.

Now I still content that our biggest enemy has not been political but cultural, and by that I'd mention the biggest, and that is the media. They still get away with their lies. Witness the latest, the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin spectacle, and how easy it is for them, in their lies, to fire up a whole country into an outrage that's grossly misplaced.

So yeah, last week I was ready to give it up, but y'all have re-inspired me.

I'll say one last thing to EVERYONE: Do not feed the trolls. If others come on this thread disputing what you say, argue plainly, calmly, but do not fall into their trap of getting you angry.

Agreed our entire future is scary as hell.It has to be handled with care and with rational thought putting the interests of the country first for a change and politics at least second. Our best chance of course lies with our side,to think other wise would be foolishly naive.
