Newt to Suspend Campaign on May 1st. (Larry Welsh, TX Grassroots Director, Newt 2012).

By now you have assuredly read, either from our team here in Texas or in the media, Newt will be suspending his presidential campaign effective May 1st. While we are all certainly disheartened by the news that our preferred candidate will no longer be vying for the Republican Nomination, we can be proud of the all the efforts put forth by this wonderful team we built together in Texas.

I would like to specifically thank some of you who went above and beyond in their efforts both to assist me and Newt. First, to Sondra Zeigler who travelled around various parts of the country, coordinated deployment and phone banking efforts and somehow found time to coordinate volunteer efforts in Lubbock. To Tammy Banks, who helped me so much in reaching out to volunteers throughout our great state and joined me at CTxPAC and staffed our booth. To Mike Pine, whose advice was invaluable and for keeping tabs on the fundraising intricacies. To Katrina Pearson, for all her efforts to assist us in our outreach to Tea Parties and putting together one of Newt's last visits to Texas. To Ed Wheeler and Gary Walters who did such a magnificent job in the phone bank and consitently kept Texaas at or near the top in those efforts. And, last but certainly not least, to Whitney Neal who never said "no" to any task or assignment that I asked of her, for reminding me not to forget whatever I was forgetting that day, for inspiration and generally being awesome.

Meeting and working with so many of you has been a pleasure and won't soon be forgotten. I look forward to seeing and speaking to many of you soon. I leave you with this quote:

"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."

-Nelson Mandela

Sincerely,

Larry Welsh Texas Grassroots Director - Newt 2012

Politics is an ugly, bloody and muddy business, I have come to learn. Anyone who supported Newt, truly and against all odds, can be proud. Newt said to a very upset supporter in NC today, Sometimes the mountain is bigger than your ability to climb it.

Newt Gingrich is true patriot, who will serve his country in whichever way he can, and in a way only he can.

I am so proud to have been part of this man's abiding effort, and will do whatever he asks going forth.

He never let us down. For me, that means a great great deal.

And because this is the TX Newt Director speaking out, rest assured Governor Perry sought out Newt before endorsing Romney, and would have honored Newt's wishes regarding the timing and endorsement of Romney.

To those who left Newt on the battlefield, when they could have come to his rescue as the Last Conservative Standing, and the list goes on for miles, may God be evident in the coming days.

I know strong individuals who have been crying for hours. I am not a crier, I am a fighter. We will fight again.

Jackie Gingrich posted this several hours ago, it is only 1:04 minutes long. Jackie Gingrich is a lot like her father.

More time now for planning that moon base. I have to think that Ron Paul is the only chance for a conservative victory now. Newt gave it the old college try, but that was the problem, the old college.

What a sick freak. He is even worse than I thought.
Closing his campaign on a communist holiday as some kind of sick tribute. He should be deported to Cuba or some other communist, “paradise.” I wish Allen West would challenge him to a fight, and kick his communist-loving ass.

You know, there were some very very ardent Santorum supporters in this forum, and I often went head to head with them, and we mixed it up bigtime. But when Santorum dropped out, I took the time to write a few of them a messae of encouragement, that better days were coming, and that we are all bonded by our love for America.

That's the difference between classy people, and human crud. That's the difference between Ron Paul and his bots, and Newt Gingrich and his supporters.

In other words, light years.

God’s speed Newt. He would have been a great president. But, he couldn’t persuade the primary voters.

Looks like America will muddle through until we get a real leader up in 2016.

Indeed, Newt would have been a very effective president. Now it looks like Mittens will get the 1144. I am forced to work against Obama who has been a revolting president.

Obama is lazy, narcissistic, socialist, big government promoter, clueless on how to grow economy, apologizer in chief, wastes time playing golf (100 rounds so far) when country is facing serious problems, Solyndra, Arizona immigration, Fast & Furious, against Keystone & domestic energy production, anti-Israel, pro-Muslim, America divider, and wastes tax payer money by endless vacations on Air Force One and weekly parties at the White House.

So will Newt be campaigning hard for Presidency for the last few remaining days left? Those speeches ought to be interesting to hear. “I’m here asking for your vote for President and your donations to carry my message forward to Tampa!” Then a little further in the speech, “Oh yeah, I will be dropping out next week Tuesday”. I mean, if your going to quit, just quit. What exactly is the point of waiting another week?

Listen to me, I am in Florida I have met and talked to Allen West many times. I worked my heart out for his campaign, when noone but the milis knew who he was. He wouldn't have anything to do with a piece of human slime like you, and I am quite sure he would be upset to know you invoked his name in one of your freakish rants. He and Newt know and like each other very much...

After Perry, Newt was our fall back position guy.

Newt Gingrich DEFINATELY is true patriot, a smart patriot and America would do well with Newt's hand on the tiller.

Newt did let us down, by not living his life in a way to show respect for the high position he sought. Most conservatives are moral people who did not accept well Newt's personal life. Last kick, during the campaigning, they would have done better by softening dear Callista’s stark appearance from that of a plastic trophy wife. Although when she did talk to us, she showed that appearances are not always true to ones self.

Now, will Newt still try again at the convention or has he turned like many of his dropout predecessors panhandling to Mitt?

Your whole schtick of tying May Day and Communism with Newt is downright sick.

What the hell is wrong with you?

He is "honoring" the campaign commitments he made to the people of NC. He is determined to keep everyone, as many were invites, and others involved school children and college students. In other words, just because he has made a difficult decision, he isn't going to blow off the people he made commitments and promises to, like the other candidates did when they dropped out. HONOR.

I have know idea what your rant about Santorum has to do with anything. Normally people close down their campaign, they do it the day they announce. If you already know you are shutting down, what sense does it make to prolong things, unless there is some kind of tribute. Please, it's not some random thing. Communism killed 100s of millions of people. If President Obama did something like this, he would rightly be pilloried by Freepers. The same should apply to Gingrich.

Interesting, you try to imply that Gingrich supporters are classy, and you call me foul names.

I don't care what names you call me, I will not whitewash it. COMMUNISM IS EVIL.

The evangelicals, especially the Southern ones, who believe as you do, left Newt in the wilderness for years because of his sins. He finally found his way to the Catholic Church, where he was introduced to the love of Christ, His transforming power, and the Faith in the Cross, that relies on the work of God's son to take care of our sins. The Catholics, of which Rich is one, have about 50% abandoned Santorum, because of the way he abrogated the work of Christ, and instead set himself up as some holier than thou, capable of judgling people's FORIVEN past, much the same as you... I wrote about it - and I couldn't believe how many agreed with what I wrote, and really repented of judging Newt so harshly and following Santorum's sanctimony...

"On Santorum: No, I’ve never met him. I’ve read about him, some of the corruption he is associated with, I’ve watched him, I’ve listened when he was disrespectful to his mentor for political expediency’s sake. I study his voting record. I know a charity of his gathered millions of dollars, and only spent 32% of their funds on the poor, for whose benefit the charity was formed; and that the normative ethical ratio is for most charities to spend 82% of their funds on their targeted constituency - while most of Santorum’s donations went to give his political friends cushy “charity” jobs. Good Neighbor, I think it was called.

I listened as this so-called “good” Christian man stood on a stage and said his character was the quality of character that Americans needed in the White House, unlike the character of others who had personal baggage in their past, without once mentioning the forgiving saving transforming power of Jesus Christ, who is the center of the faith Sanctimonium so piously professes to live by... and sets his principles upon...

If you are not a Christian, you can’t really appreciate what is so appalling and galling about the man, in light of true christians, who don’t abrogate the work of Christ with attempts at self righteousness attained by their outside of the cup persona and behaviors..

What you are doing, and why so many sincere Christians have great problems with Santorum, is he, as well as you, overlook how the transformative power an encounter with the True Christ impacts a man’s entire soul and being; he becomes a new creature in Christ Jesus, old things pass away, all things are made new.

Newt has confessed his sins, said he did things he is ashamed of, has sought to make reconciliation with the members of his family, and others he has hurt. He has blamed no one else but himself. He has come to a new and apparently cleansing faith in Christ Jesus and, most importantly, there is no evidence of any of the same behavioral sins in his life since this long journey of his repentance, rebirth, and renewal began.

And, yet, people cannot let the man leave his past behind. After 20 years - think of it - 20 years - there are still a majority of people in the press, politics - Santorum, and a lot of his supporters - who consider Newt the same man he was 20 years ago, and dare he try to take one step away from his past, to step into the new, as his faith promises him he can, they are there loudly, hypocritically, self-righteously to pull him right back. They won’t let him step away from his sinful past, though no apparent evidence of that sinful past exists any longer, or any evidence that he is the same man he was 20 years ago. He is being judged as the man he was - while that man no longer exists. He is, I repeat, a new creature in Christ Jesus.

Finally, Christians, who truly fully embrace and receive the saving work of Christ, who are transformed deeply, understand that Newt could have done all those things back then, even worse, and still today be a new creature in Christ Jesus - but no one, not Santorum, nor his minions, will allow for that, or accept that might ever be true.

So, the final finally: it says more about the people who can’t let Newt be this new creature many believing Christians trust he is, if only because they are likewise sinners, great sinners, saved and transformed by the same power that Newt claims has saved and transformed him.

It is religious bigotry, hard hearts, and people like Santorum, who behaviorally have hit many of the right notes in their outward lives, though it is hard to believe that is extensively true - I am sure we will find out - whose self-righteousness - whose pride in their outward manifestations of sinlessness, and acceptable conduct, that causes believing Christians to distance themselves from him, to see him as a hypocrite, saved more by his self-perceived good works than the miraculous, healing work of a Perfect Savior, by his love and tender mercy, towards those who are fully unworthy.

Santorum is about none of that, he is about a gospel of works and self denial, of earned salvation. Newt is simply a sinner being saved by by the gift of grace, he could never earn or be worthy of... through no goodness of his own... the same as most of those Christians who can’t support Santorum’s apostasy."

Forgiveness2

It’s a shame that Gingrich didn’t get honest treatment or enough primary votes, but it’s no surprise.

Both political parties are competing for the voters who are dependent on government for their incomes and for preventions against any new private sector competition (anti-family, anti-rights policies).

Those same voters are morally bankrupt, as their rackets will also be bankrupt soon. Cut personal spending while encouraging the political/regulator class to spend more. Starve the B. Send her to repudiation and currency adjustment.

Then you’ll see small government. And printing dollars into worthlessness wouldn’t save her evil, socialist empire, because worthless is worthless. Do some real work. Become more self-sufficient. Reject political correctness.
