Newt, literally, just drove right by me while leaving my kids’ school!
Nothing has changed. I’m still voting Sarah Palin as write-in on election day.
Good/best choice.
l’ll believe it when I see it. Otherwise this is disinformation.
Ron Paul, anyone? ;>)
Maybe he will and maybe he won’t. When/if he does, and he himself makes an official statement, then it will be breaking news. In the meantime, I wonder how many of these articles we’re going to have in breaking news over the next week?
In the meantime, there sure are a lot of giddy freepers. It’s a curious amalgam of stealth romneybots, still-angry supporters of other candidates who dropped out previously, and FR perpetual malcontents who, I suspect, are enjoying what they think is license to covertly poke JR in the eye.
Weird.
Really?
Thought he was suppose to do that last month, erh, last week, NO! Wait! He is suppose to quit this week.....
So, once again by the time we have our primary in Nebraska, there is NO CHOICE as to what candidate I will vote for. Something really needs to be done along the order of having 3 primaries - one for the East, then a month later one for the Midwest, then a month later one for the West. As it is, much of the country has no voice in the selection process.
We haven’t had a decent candidate since Reagan.
Newt could soldier forward if the message is still reaching people but the not-Romney / conservatives have given up on their voices being heard.
Silence is consent.
Santorum's exit ahead of Pennsylvania to save face and position himself for the next contested nomination, sealed the deal for Romney.
I think expectations were higher for Delaware where he took 27% and came second but got no new delegates.
I would guess the "negotiations" are related to his convention role and eventually retiring some campaign debt.
I'll vote for anything that gets the 'race card' out of the White House. We need a President who is ACCOUNTABLE for his actions. So long as there's a 'race card' in the WH this is NOT possible. I commend you for 'stickin' to your guns' but if Obama gets re-elected you're gonna feel like crap.
She's not running.
Virgil Goode is running.
Don't throw your vote away.
Goode believes in everything this forum is dedicated to.

When was the last time Obama gave a speech from the Oval Office? Is this because he wants to strip America of it's traditions?.. Didn't Michelle say we'd need to CHANGE our traditions? I miss Reagan!
Maybe some retreads?
I never thought I’d see the day that VinL would be out.
For long time residents of most of those states, it's something they've come to expect every four years.
If we're honest with ourselves, the die was cast when Santorum stayed in and Romney took Florida.
Don’t care. Still voting for him on May 8.
And then voting for someone else besides Romney and Obama on Nov. 6.
That's likely also why there's such a low turn out for Primaries. In Pa we rode the edge, voting for Newt was a pleasure for me though the handwriting has been on the wall, still one does not underestimate Newt, but he had everything thrown at him by the Romney/GOP/Media and Santorum not releasing his delegates to Newt was a sure give away....this whole mess was all about keeping Newt out.
I sure wish Santorum had not been the GOP man he played out to be. I was hopeful maybe his ego wouldn't get hyped as it usually does....but he couldn't resist the glory once again. He had both Romney and Newt to play with to advance his career...and he did that over the country...also typical Rick style. He has secured his position now and we shall hear about that with time and tide.
Yep!
I’m pretty safe voting Palin here in ND as my state will vote overwhelmingly for the Republican ticket.
However, I could be persuaded to vote for Virgil Goode.
I will not vote for Romney, that I can promise without reservation.
Hang on Newt! ...Hang on!
This has been coming for awhile now but still to bad he could never regain any traction after Mitt carpet bombed him with negative ads in Florida..
Romney got the nomination but I’m proud to say he will never get my vote.
Stayed with Newt all the way from before Iowa.
It’s sad that the GOP electorate is so dense, so driven to be whipped sheep. The whole group has been made fat and soft by thinking that victory can be had by just listening to old Reagan clips, a talk radio show, and by sending a moderate/lib to the general election.
Still not voting for Romney.....I’m not a “lesser evil” type of person.
Conservatives can Shock the Vote if a huge number en masse vote for Virgil Goode and the Constitution Party.
It could spell the beginning of a new beginning for this nation.
Minds would simply blow fuses and all circuits if a mass of Americans refused to yield to the Vulcan mind meld engineered by the major media.
And, as you say, conservatives outnumber the other guys. Let Mitt and Zero fight over the libs and moderates. A conservative pulling the 40+ % of conservatives, that Gallup says is how America breaks out, would win this election by a plurality.
And if nothing else, there would be a serious-minded party that would get traction in local and state elections.

More evil it is then...
Except getting anyone but Obama elected.
So Gingrich does not believe America is humane anymore? And now we are faced with Romney who is saying we are bad, using gays to say it, using this pseudo-criminalization of America, in favor of denying the obvious inhuman slaughter of America to the level of other third rate nations at the hands of Zero is his bulk of f@gs?
Agreed. I don’t the the GOP will ever produce another one before it, the Untied States, or both dissolve.
Then “Give us Barabbas”.
NO he hasn't - don't repeat what evil wants you to say/think. Stay true to what you believe no matter what you see or they say. He'll only get votes from those on his dirt gutter level - then they own the evil they brought on this country.
There are still some fighting and $upporting good and win/lose/draw in this fight - they are winners in the end and that's all that counts.

Which is it Newt, in or out? Let’s hope that unofficial is the important word in this report.
oK, so can we start the blame game now.
I put most of it at the feet of Sarah Palin who was running around, yelling “the more the merrier”, “everyone jump in and let’s do some vetting”.
All this did was tear the conservatives to shreds.
NOT TO MENTION her 6 month tease with the media. Remember the bus tour? Remember the Iowa State Fair?
Sorry, but if we had unified early behind one conservative (not 10), we might have had a chance to defeat Mitt the RINO.
I miss Reagan, too.
It seems party registration matters in only a handful of states. I democrat in NH has more say in the Republican primary than you do...
They said the same yesterday and last year. Every day now a hit job on saying Newt is stepping down. They must be worried - if he/they were so sure it’s in the bag, they wouldn’t keep up this deception.
The media needs Mitt to win - so Obama can win. I don’t think you should carry their water for them and post their deliberate deception. Not everyone has time to keep up to see what truth there is in.
Funny, I plan on suspending my Republican affiliation. What a coincidence.
Per the link, the current committed delegate count is:
Romney=844
Santorum=260
Gingrich=179
Paul=79
There are 1144 delegates needed to clinch and 965 delegates still not selected or committed. The formula to determine percent of remaining delegates needed to clinch is 1144 - SD divided by 965 where SD = secured delegates.
Thus, Newt is 1144-137/965 or 104.4%. Newt still can not win even if he secures 100% of remaining delegates.
Santorum is at 91.6%, Romney is now at 31.1%.
Even if Newt, Santorum and Paul teamed up, they would have 477 delegates. You can do the math on how many they would need:
1144-477/965.
It just isn't going to happen.
Better to bow out gracefully now and use the influence to change the rules-- far more delegate weight to states which actually deliver electoral votes for the GOP and far less to those which don't.
I have not given up the fight and I’ll only vote for conservatives that’s the only way to elect conservatives IMHO
I'd rather have all primaries on the same day and have them all CLOSED, so only registered Republicans can vote in them.
I know that's never going to happen, but it sure would stop people from just voting for whoever has the most delegates at a particular point in time. And it would sure stop Dems from "stuffing" the Republican primary ballot boxes.
Santorum said he was dropping out because of his daughter's fragile health. She had just be in the hospital the weekend before his withdrawal - for the second time during his campaign, I believe.
Frankly, I believe what he said, and I don't blame him. They really don't know how long they will have her with them.
Dude, you are absolutely and completely off your rocker. You just keep posting incoherent gibberish over and over. I think you might be obsessed with Satan and evil, but I can't tell because your posts are often too difficult to decipher.
Let me try to help you one more time before you threaten hellfire and damnation on me yet again. Newt is dropping out. He's done, it's over. Santorum has already dropped out. All the other candidates who had even the slightest chance have already dropped out too. There is no one left to stop Romney. The fight for the GOP nomination is over. Now you can vote for Willard, vote for Obama, vote 3rd party or write in someone. That's it. Those are your choices. The devil doesn't have anything to do with your decision.
I didn’t read your post as I have you on IGNORE lest my eyes take in your taint. However, I doubt a deceived/diseased mind can grasp that to take a hint.
Ah! YES!!
Common sense is so rare and refreshing these days.
I’m in Connecticut, as well.
Conservatives no longer have a say here, at least in national and state-wide contests. The state has gone beyond “tipping” one way or another, and has toppled completely over — to the left.
It’s still possible for conservatives and Republicans to wield influence in local elections, but that’s about it. And even within the Connecticut statehouse, the Republicans will probably never again have a majority.
It’s getting to be like New York, Massachusetts, Illinois and California ‘round here....
It's didn't stop him from making attacks ads with LIES against Newt - the defender of Our Constitution, the one who is ready, on day one, to undo some of the damage barry has done on our country. As a father, that should be his concern but he thwarted that chance. So, not many are deceived by his fork tongue. It was his 'assigned time' to drop out according to his boss and it's plan. Only those who can be deceived were.
I now see conflicting reports. I am confused.
Newt Gingrich to suspend campaign next week, R.C. Hammond, Mr. Gingrichs campaign spokesman, said in an email to The Washington Times. Laying out plans now how as a citizen he can best help stop Obama second term and win congressional majorities.
