A racially charged beating of a white Alabama man by a throng of African-Americans is not being investigated as a hate crime, despite one witness' claim that she heard an assailant exclaim: "Now that's justice for Trayvon."
Matthew Owens, of Mobile, Ala., was assaulted with baseball bats, paint cans and other weapons at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday after telling a group of children to stop playing basketball in the middle of Delmar Drive, according to Ashley Rains, public information officer for the Mobile Police Department.
After the children left the area, a group of adults armed with weapons returned and confronted Owens, 40, in his front yard, where he was assaulted. Owens' sister, Ashley Parker, told WKRG she witnessed the attack and that there were as many as 20 assailants. Parker said she overheard one of them say, "Now that's justice for Trayvon."
Asked if the incident was being investigated as a hate crime, Rains replied: "No, it's not. It's being investigated as an assault."

It wasn’t the yutes. They left and went and told the adults. The adults came back and beat the guy for pointing out to the yutes they aren’t supposed to be playing b-ball in the street.

And obama doesn’t say one, single word about this. He’s too busy kissing up to the students in Chapel Hill about how he and M are just as poor as they are. I notice he doesn’t give any WH pressers anymore. At all.

I heard on Laura Ingraham’s show today that neighbors saw this happen but are afraid to give any details to the police. They think if they do that they will be next in line for a beating.
Natural reaction, and thats why things like this happen. The thugs knew that neighbors would just sit and watch the beat down.

“I have personal insight into this incident. It had nothing to do with kids playing basketball or racial slurs.
Several neighborhood kids were going into his neighbors yard and carports who were away. He told the kids to put the items back and get off the neighbors property.
The kids left. Several minutes later, numerous cars pulled up and the occupants set upon Mr. Owens. The group consisted of adult male and females and children.
As they were leaving they were overheard sayin “This is for Travon”
The press has “their” stories wrong and need to correct it and stop trying to paint in a way to allow for justification of attempted murder against Mr.Owens.”

If I witness an assault like that I'm shooting every last one of them.
Just like Marquette Park in Chicago. The ethnic Lithuanians still left cannot sell their houses, and have to stand by while Holder’s people walk in and take whatever they want. I know a few people were shot in the head by Holder’s thugs, simply because of their color.
Another witness has come forward now, and has stated that one of the attackers uttered the, “This is Justice for Trayvon” line:
“...Police continue to downplay the Trayvon Martin connection to the beating. But a neighbor confirms what his sister told News 5. The neighbor, too scared to go on camera, told News 5’s Lauren Vargas that they heard one of the suspects say “This is justice for Trayvon” as she drove away.”

And thanks to the “affirmative action” Mobile, AL Police Chief, none of “his” people will be apprehended, much less charged. Count on it. Matt Owens will just have to get used to it: equal justice does not apply to whites.
If the roles were reversed then it would absolutely be considered a hate crime simply because it would be white on black.
So it shouldn’t matter if anyone shouted anything about Trayvon or not. The fact that it was a black mob beating a white person should be enough to assume it was a racially motivated hate crime. Hate crime laws are a bad idea to begin with for several reasons, one of which is that that will eventually lead to the criminalization of speech.
But if we are going to have them, then a blatant example like this should be treated as such.
