At an event at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, President Barack Obama tried to rouse the crowd by asking for an "amen."
"The fact is that since most of you were born, tuition and fees at America's colleges have more than doubled," Obama said. "And that forces students like to take out a lot more loans, there are fewer grants, you rack up more debt. Can I get an 'amen'?"
The students responded: "Amen!"
Obama continued: “The average student who borrows to pay for college now graduates with about $25,000 in student loan debt—that’s the average, some are more. Can I get an ‘amen’ for that?”
"Amen," the students responded.

I’ve met students who owe over $560,000 between the two, and another student in Theological School owes $132,000. Most kids I know all end up with over $60,000 owed. I don’t think an average is $25k.

My daughter is going to commute to the local state college to get her worthless degree for $7k/yr. She will work part-time to pay tuition, so she can graduate debt-free.
She needs a worthless teaching degree to teach in a Catholic school.

At least it’s relatively inexpensive. 8-P
The student loan deal is another liberal funding program.
Students borrow huge sums at subsidized rates, pay big $$ to colleges for overpriced education.
Schools pay big $$ in salaries to liberal profs and administrators.
Profs and admins contribute $$ to liberal candidates and causes.

How in the hell do you acquire more than a half a million in student loans?? It says they went to the ‘best’ (make that the most expensive) school for the maximum amount of time and took NO work on the side to help defray costs. It is NOT tax payers responsibility to educate those who are to lazy to work to educate themselves.

My wife & I together managed 5 degrees (Ivy League included) for under $100K, debt-free. If you take time to THINK and RESEARCH, you can go so far as getting the school to pay you.

The high school-educated sisters of yesteryear, who taught classes of 50 kids, did pretty darn well. They only lacked the ability to diagnose learning disabilities. And those skills can be learned very quickly.

One mistake too many (self included) make/made: starting at the bottom and following the standard process (which, among other things, requires degree certification). Forget going in the front door, start by _building_ that door. Every kid should start a business before graduating high school: they then understand they can be their own boss, and already have a starting point to build from - rather than starting as mere peon to others under arbitrary rules.

I have my own side business, and have tried to talk my kids into starting their own businesses, but they lack the drive. I guess that’s where being hungry comes in. Surprisingly, working at entry-level jobs isn’t sufficient motivation, but then, they’re not paying the bills.
He’s already proved convincingly that he never even took Econ 101. As a country we have never suffered as incompetent a president as this phony. While I don’t want to wish away the presumed coming summer, I can’t wait for next January.
