The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments Wednesday on the controversial immigration law first passed in Arizona two years ago, and a majority of voters nationwide still agree with one of the law’s chief provisions.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 59% believe police should automatically check the immigration status of individuals they pull over for a traffic violation. One-in-three (32%) opposes such a rule. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

32% oppose which is just about the exact percentage of hispanics in america. What a coincidence.
The population of the US would certainly decrease dramatically if this was implemented properly.
Problem is though, cops would spend all their time rounding up illegals and doing nothing else...in the beginning anyway.
They do it in MEXICO. Been there, stopped by the policia armed with REAL black guns. Thank goodness I had my business colleagues who were local. You don’t go anywhere down there without your passport. Funny, we here in America can’t do that...
The actual number is about half that. And a lot of them are not in favor of illegal immigration.
Big difference. We aren’t planning to round them up for execution.

BTW, if they aren't a citizen, how can they have a DL? Isn't NM the only state still doing that?

“Rounding up illegals” implies going out and looking for them.
The survey question was simply about verification during traffic stops, no different than the standard check for open warrants. So it is more “holding onto illegals after they’ve committed a crime” than “rounding up illegals.”
Of course, I actually DO favor “rounding up illegals” via a bounty system utilizing retired LEOs and charging the costs to employers and landlords who failed to verify immigration status.
I’ve never been stopped by police without them asking to see my ID.
What the hell you think they are gonna do when they find illegals at a traffic stop if this is implemented? Let them go? No, they are going to round them up.
The Michigan driver’s licenses for illegals stopped shortly after a kid was dragged a quarter mile under a stolen car driven by an illegal a few years back.

THEY TAKE IT BACK TO THEIR SQUAD CAR AND SEE IF THERE’S ANY REASON TO ARREST YOUR ASS, SLAP HANDCUFFS ON YA, AND THROW YOU IN JAIL!!!

The first time I ever payed any attention to Virgil Goode was when I saw him give a speech about illegal immigration. He talked about an illegal that had been arrested for DWI 17 times before the fatal accident.
I really don’t think it matters how many DWIs they get. They still gots ta go.
