Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is hoping retail politics will make the inevitability of Mitt Romney's nomination a tough sell among Delaware's GOP voters.

The former House speaker is seeking an upset victory in Tuesday's presidential primary. That would lend credibility to his flagging campaign and his plans to help shape the Republican Party platform at its August convention in Florida.

I wonder if Newt has some internal polling info. I haven’t seen any polls on the primaries since Santorum suspended his campaign.

I will be voting for Newt tomorrow.

Doubt it will do much good, what with us fighting the Democrat Party, the Republican Party and the government controlled media.

But I will not vote for Obama-Lite.

Who did Newt support last year in the Delaware Senate race?

I seem to remember him being a Castle supporter and Romney being a supporter of the Tea Party candidate Christine O’Donnell.

Now is seems that the tides have completely shifted the other direction.

Makes me wonder - if Newt pulled a couple of upsets, would Santorum suddenly unsuspend his campaign, so as to make sure the conservative vote stays good and split for the rest of the primaries?

O’Donnell endorsed Romzero this morning and hammered Newt.

(Per USA TODAY)

Fortunately, O’Donnell’s endorsement probably carries very LITTLE weight across the state.

It will do a LOAD of good, airborne!! Here’s what I have to say to New England:

Which state is it with the motto “Live Free or Die”? That’s the spirit we need right now, and New England can lead the way.

New England, you were the bed of the American Revolution. From the battles you fought come the liberties of this land. The country needs you now. Please rise to the great heritage you come from. You can do this!

And here is what I posted to try to help everybody know what is at stake here - which should have special meaning for anybody whose life was personally touched by 9-11:

I have to work today and tomorrow so I can’t man any of Newt’s phone banks, but if anybody can use this letter to forward in e-mails to your lists before tomorrow’s primaries, please do so:

Mitt Romney supports government-coerced abortion. He personally has made the decision to force people to provide abortions even though they believe it to be murder.

Yes, he vetoed Romneycare because it mandated abortion insurance coverage, but in Dec 2005 after his veto was overridden and the Boston Globe printed an article noting that Catholic hospitals would be exempt from providing abortions to rape victims, Romney ordered the Dept of Public Health to force Catholic hospitals to provide abortions. He said his legal counsel had given him a “sounder view” of what Romneycare meant – that this law alone, of all the abortion laws passed in the 30 years since the 1975 conscience law had exempted religious institutions from having to perform abortions against their religious beliefs, nullified the conscience law even though a nullification clause had specifically been rejected by the MA legislature. Romney went further and said he personally believed it was the “right thing” for Catholic hospitals to commit what they believe to be murder.

Since that time, the regulations now say that the abortifacient morning-after pill must be offered by Catholic hospitals regardless of whether rape is even claimed. In other words, any woman can go to the emergency room of any Catholic hospital in MA and force the staff there to give her an abortion pill, no questions allowed to be asked.

This isn’t about rape and it isn’t about abortion. There are plenty of secular hospitals that will provide the morning-after pill. This is about forcing every Catholic in this country who puts a dollar bill in the collection plate to commune at the altar of government-established religion that includes abortion. Religious liberty exists no more.

Welcome to China right here in America.

Romney defends Romneycare’s coerced abortions by pointing out that states are not bound by the US Constitution. First Amendment guarantees of religious liberty don’t apply to states. States are free to establish religion and violate religious liberty, as Romney has done in MA.

The chief way that Islamists plan to establish sharia in free countries is by establishing precedents at the more local levels and then using that precedent to force the whole country into sharia – Islam forced onto everyone. Romney’s claims would allow states to establish sharia.

Vote for Newt Gingrich in the Republican Presidential primary.

No, Romney is the same POS as he always has been - buying off conservatives for favors/support. EVIL knows no bounds and evil doesn't change. Evil is what it is. Surely, you know this n00b.

If you have friends you can e-mail, please think about e-mailing the following, so as many people as possible can know what’s at stake. New England can rise up and lead the way to defend the very freedoms that their blood bought for us in the American Revolution!!

Here it is:

Anyone voting for Romney is an accomplice to murder - evil couldn't exist unless evil keeps it alive. That blood doesn't wash off, the price is - tainted for eternity.

Satan has come to kill/rob/destroy. It's obvious who satan is working through.

Kill babies, rob freedoms/destroy America - one nation under God.

Here’s what I started to write in a longer editorial about this:

At http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y2KsU_dhwI Ray Comfort asks people on the street: You’re in Germany in 1935, in front of a deep trench filled with bodies – most dead but some alive. Armed soldiers tell you to operate a bulldozer to bury the bodies; if you refuse you will be shot and the person next to you will do it instead. What would you do?

The whole video is an excellent watch, as each person sorts through the options and reasoning behind them. This is not an imaginary scenario. I have read eyewitness accounts of those who evaded capture who listened to the cries coming from under the soil and watched the ground writhe with the escape efforts of their loved ones, buried alive by their own countrymen. I’ve read of people who were required to provide background music for the killings, or to beat their fellow emaciated prisoners.

It wasn’t because the overlords couldn’t do it themselves; it was so nobody innocent could ever stand up and accuse them. It was so everyone would share the guilt, and those who were coerced into the thing they hate would be so disgusted and demoralized as to feel subhuman. It’s the same demoralization as is currently used in the rape rooms in Iran, where boys are first repeatedly sodomized and then forced to sodomize each other, or in Iraq where Saddam Hussein lined up and executed all the men in a village while their families watched – and then charged the wives for the bullet with which their husband was murdered. Such a small fee it was – to kill that woman’s soul.

Coercion is the essence of rape. It is one person overpowering another to get them to do what is repulsive to them. It’s unthinkable that our government would do this to us.

It’s happening in Massachusetts...

Amen, brother!

I think of the line from “The Lord of the Rings”, where Theoden says about the army they will take to confront Mordor in Gondor: “No, we cannot defeat them. But we will meet them in battle nonetheless...”

Even if we couldn’t defeat them, for conscience’s sake we must meet them in battle. But I still believe we CAN defeat them. I believe New England can rise to defeat tyranny today just as they did when this country was founded - and for the same reasons. All that stands in the way is for them to realize what we’re fighting, and what we’re fighting FOR.

Please see my previous post in this thread and share with everybody you know, that Romney is defending coerced abortion on the grounds that the states don’t have to defend religious liberty and can institute their own religion because the First Amendment doesn’t apply to states. If we dont’ rise up against this even a Romney presidency would unwittingly lay the foundation for eventual sharia. Taking Romney’s argument to its logical conclusion, not only can states force abortions against one’s religious beliefs but they can also build a mosque and require that everybody worship at it. They can institute sharia at the state level.

EVERYBODY should be rising up against this! Please spread the word.

I hope those attacking Santorum in Newt’s name are limited to FR. You would think they would let up a little now that their guy needs those votes. Of course, that would not hold true for them if they are actually supporting someone else.
