Adelsons give Gingrich super PAC another $5 million
The Washington Post ^ | April 23, 2012 | Aaron Blake

Posted on 04/23/2012 5:58:34 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

.....many assumed the Adelsons had stopped funding the former House speaker’s campaign.

The super PAC spent just $1.5 million in March, even though the month featured several Southern primaries in which Gingrich ostensibly could have performed well. But the fresh infusion of Adelson money came in after Super Tuesday on March 6, after primaries a week later in Alabama and Mississippi (where Gingrich placed a respectable second and the super PAC spent about $1 million combined) and just a few days before Louisiana, where the super PAC did spend some money.

Because of the late nature of the donation, Winning Our Future still had $5.8 million cash on hand at the end of March. And since then, the super PAC has not spent any of it on specific primaries, meaning it is likely still sitting on several million dollars that can be used in future contests.

That will be about the only thing keeping Gingrich on TV. His campaign showed more than $4 million in debt in its campaign finance filing on Friday, compared to just $1.2 million cash on hand.

No, it was the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

Here’s proof.

I don’t care what Newt does in relation to Romney.

What I will not forgive me for is that he took votes from Rick.

Whatever your point/reason/intention, the statement, and this whole Newt thread, was being ridiculed because of it.

That’s why I stopped them in their tracks.

If they come back, I’ll do it again.

No, that reference is so common and well-known now that people hardly blink anymore when it is made.

I’m being series.

The two accusations went hand in hand.

They always said Newt only ran to help
Romney and his method to help Romney was to take votes from Rick.

In my book Rick took votes from Newt.

You parse that anyway you wish.

But the whole of that accusation is as false as its parts.

Now Rick has left.

He left because he could not afford to fight Romney in PA, sufficiently to win his home state.

Newt is still there.

Fact.

Nailed it. Txrangerette, the reference was supportive of Newt, or so I thought. This just shows how careful posters have to be with humor on freerepublic.

Still, the "Germans bombed Pearl Harbor" is a very well known cultural referent.

Romney’s nomination is not inevitable. He’s bought off everybody and their dog - except we the little peons who do the voting. And we have friends who also vote. We need to not be demoralized by the giants staring us in the face but rather take on the motto “Live Free or Die!”

I’m asking as many people as can to forward what I’ve written below to their e-mail lists so everybody can really comprehend what is at stake in this primary. I posted it to Activism but because it isn’t from a media website it apparently can’t be activism (doesn’t make sense to me but then I’m a peon). Anyway, here’s what I’ve got. I hope it can be a help:

Mitt Romney supports government-coerced abortion. He personally has made the decision to force people to provide abortions even though they believe it to be murder.

Yes, he vetoed Romneycare because it mandated abortion insurance coverage, but in Dec 2005 after his veto was overridden and the Boston Globe printed an article noting that Catholic hospitals would be exempt from providing abortions to rape victims, Romney ordered the Dept of Public Health to force Catholic hospitals to provide abortions. He said his legal counsel had given him a “sounder view” of what Romneycare meant – that this law alone, of all the abortion laws passed in the 30 years since the 1975 conscience law had exempted religious institutions from having to perform abortions against their religious beliefs, nullified the conscience law even though a nullification clause had specifically been rejected by the MA legislature. Romney went further and said he personally believed it was the “right thing” for Catholic hospitals to commit what they believe to be murder.

Since that time, the regulations now say that the abortifacient morning-after pill must be offered by Catholic hospitals regardless of whether rape is even claimed. In other words, any woman can go to the emergency room of any Catholic hospital in MA and force the staff there to give her an abortion pill, no questions allowed to be asked.

This isn’t about rape and it isn’t about abortion. There are plenty of secular hospitals that will provide the morning-after pill. This is about forcing every Catholic in this country who puts a dollar bill in the collection plate to commune at the altar of government-established religion that includes abortion. Religious liberty exists no more.

Welcome to China right here in America.

Romney defends Romneycare’s coerced abortions by pointing out that states are not bound by the US Constitution. First Amendment guarantees of religious liberty don’t apply to states. States are free to establish religion and violate religious liberty, as Romney has done in MA.

The chief way that Islamists plan to establish sharia in free countries is by establishing precedents at the more local levels and then using that precedent to force the whole country into sharia – Islam forced onto everyone. Romney’s claims would allow states to establish sharia.

Vote for Newt Gingrich in the Republican Presidential primary.

Newt is still there because his ego is too big to allow him to withdraw.
And he also remains in the race because of a Romney supporter named Adelson who continues to give him money for reasons unknown.

Rick won 11 states to Newt’s two. Newt, whose never had a real chance to win, gleaned from Rick, not the other way around.

Santorum was headed for a primary victory in WI. as well, were it not for the RNC stepping in with Sub-Gate to change the game.
The campaign was characterized by strong commitment from volumes of volunteers and grassroots enthusiasm rather than gifts from sugar daddies. It speaks to the power of WE THE PEOPLE.

Rick has more class than all of the other candidates combined. And his Conservative supporters are still with him.
We haven’t abandoned him like other segments of the electorate do for candidates who drop out.

Mary, if you really want to fight for Rick, take up the torch he left to you and fight to have a conservative who recognizes the danger of the debt we have, the Islamists, the pro-death cult, etc. This is from memory so I hope I get most of it right:

In Flander’s Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row
That mark our place.
And in the air birds still sweetly singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago we lived, .....
Saw sunset’s glow.
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie in Flander’s Fields.

Take up the quarrel with the foe.
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch. Be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep,
Though poppies blow
In Flander’s Fields.

If you really want to support Rick Santorum, then take up his torch, take up the quarrel with HIS foe - and it wasn’t Newt Gingrich. Newt Gingrich was his ally against the foes of this country. It’s time to let the old animosity die and fight onward for what Rick fought for. That will honor the battle he fought, more than any defense over what is past.

"I resent your insults."

Which insults might those be?

" They are entirely uncalled for."

ReallY? I doubt it. I don't usually insult people but when I do it's NEVER uncalled for. If you've been insulted by something I've said to you then I suggest you take that up with your God and find out what it is you're looking at in that mirror that's getting your panties all wadded up. I read my last response to you and from what I said I believe I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. If that isn't good enough for you then too bad.

"I live in MA. I know all I need to know about Romney."

So according to romney you're one of those that absolutely love his obombneycare right?

"I'm not voting for him. I'm not shilling for Romney and I think you have to be seriously confused to think that I was."

Do you believe he has won the republican nomination?

I already have the torch and am fighting as a Conservative activist for our freedoms.

Rick was the closest candidate to my values...but I try not to hitch my rope to other people’s wagons. They are human too and they can let us down so easily.

Don’t expect others to rescue us. We have to do this for ourselves. ‘
And if it’s Newt you are hoping will suddenly rise up and defeat Romney, he simply cannot win at this juncture and it’s not rational to think he can.

Instead, try to come up with a list of the ways you hope that Newt CAN stay active and involved for Conservatism in the future...an appointment, a professorship, speaker at the convention?

These are doable and more realistic goals..for him and for the Newt supporters.
So yes, I hold the torch high: for the Constitution,,for the founders..for the America that we are in danger of losing.

Did we give up after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Which brings up another potential write-in candidate...
