The Associated Press

NEW YORK —Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich told Republicans at a New York state party dinner that he would work for Mitt Romney’s victory in the general election if Romney wins the nomination.

“We are dedicated to a unified Republican Party,” he said.

Speaking Thursday in New York City, Gingrich said he’s stayed in the race “to articulate big themes and big ideas” but that “we have a moral obligation to defeat Barack Obama.”

To that end, he said, he would work to support Romney, and he said Romney would do the same for him. “Romney and I have discussed this,” he said.

In his remarks to the state party, Gingrich called for “bold” positions and reiterated his call for energy independence by opening up off-shore areas and federal lands to drilling.

Of course he would. Though he’s more conservative than Romney, he’s still a Party man.

Yes, but, of course he has to say that, and of course he has to say he expects the full support of Romney and the establishment if he wins. There’s nothing new to be inferred here.

All of the party leaders and serving members of the party will eventually support the nominee, but we individuals are not professional, career republicans, we are voters, we look at each candidate and his relationship to our vote.

Maybe Newt was the reason for the strange police escort I saw yesterday afternoon on 14th Street?

he said Romney would do the same for him.

The maggot showed it with the millions he spent on attack ads.

“Romney and I have discussed this,” he said.

Romney is a KNOWN Liar - satan is his master. Pulling a lever for mitt is pulling it for satan - it AIN'T happening I don't care who supports the pro homo, baby killing candidate!

Do what you want, NEWT, the POS Mitt will NEVER get my vote and the Republican party is already united like never before with a bunch of no value whores who will sell their soul for a 'party'.

I have MY OWN PARTY, my conscientious and my 'NEVER compromise' with evil standards.

You don’t have to be an insider to obey the party line through fear. This country was built on the Patriotic spirit - not by rallying around a ‘party’.

I’m still voting for Newt as he’s on the ticket - NEVER a pro homo baby killer candidate. God has His way of taking care of His enemies - who would ever support His enemy.

You know when all is said and done, she will. Unless she runs as third party.

Newt can say and support anyone he wants. I’m not voting for a liberal socialist to replace another one.

This is not news.

If Romney is the nominee, he will support him against Obama.

Has said this on numerous occasions.

He has said it’s not because Romney is so good, but because in his mind the nation will be destroyed under another Obama term.

Will.not.survive.

People differ on what is the right thing to do.

Newt thinks it’s better to support the detestable nominee than to have the nation soon destroyed.

I’m not arguing for it. I’m stating his premise.

AND IT’S NOT NEW!
