America's deadly devotion to guns
theguardian.co.uk ^ | 16 April 2012 | Gary Younge

At an organising breakfast for National Rifle Association (NRA) grassroots activists, Samuel Richardson, a man with whom I have not exchanged a word, passes me a note. "Please read the book Injustice by Adams," it reads. "He was [sic] lawyer for US Justice Department who prosecuted Black Panther Case." Quite why Richardson thinks this book is for me is not clear. There are six other people at the table, a couple of them journalists. The fact I am the only black person in a room of around 200 may have something to do with it.

J Christian Adams, a former department of justice lawyer, resigned after the department decided not to prosecute members of the New Black Panther party who brandished guns and intimidated poll watchers outside a voting station in Philadelphia in 2008. Several attorneys, including Republicans, have argued that while the case was serious it did not warrant the department's resources. Adams believed there were darker forces at play, claiming the case "gave the public a glimpse of the racially discriminatory worldview" of the department under Obama.

Richardson goes further. The press and the government are in cahoots, he explains, to oppress white people. "It's fascistic," he explains. "It's just like Hitler did. Discriminating against one ethnic group and claiming that they're the cause of everything that's wrong. It's what happened in Rwanda," intimating that white Americans, like Tutsis, could one day find themselves systematically slaughtered in their own land.

It would be easy to ridicule the NRA. Billboards for its national convention all around St Louis promise "acres of guns and gear". In the exhibition hall they are giving two free guns, twice a day, to anyone wearing a sticker that says "Ambush", and they are selling semi-automatics in pink camouflage.

Dear U.K.

Get over it. American riflemen and natural born patriotic freemen kicked your ass. Let it go.

And before the US entered World War II, we sent thousands of guns over to England to help arm their Home Guard against the anticipated Nazi invasion.

Fomenting racism won’t give leftist Britons (see source of article) any edge against our Second Amendment. Most US Democrat voters are now also in favor of our right to bear arms. Firearms are in style.

I often have fantasies that other pro-freedom organizations could be as focused and successful as the NRA.

An intro to another of the newspaper employee's columns.

Trayvon Martin: a killing too far

Outrage at the death of Trayvon Martin is finally lifting the lid on the US's racist underbelly

Get I wonder how he would introduce a story about the killing of whites by blacks.. killings that occur many times more often the whites killing blacks. Maybe something like..

"Brother scores one for us victims against the gun-lovin' honky mf'ers"

Interesting, to say the least-one MORON thinks thousands of “armed Americans” will be in London for the Olympics. How will they GET there with a handgun- they won’t let you board an aircraft with one!

Expanded my collection a bit this week with the purchase of a 10/22. Had just about every type of gun someone would want for defense, but didn’t have a .22 of all things. lol

The thing is a joy to shoot, and surprisingly accurate out of the box.

Consider the source:

Gary Younge, speaker at the Marxism 2012 Festival:

Guardian columnist Gary Younge returns to Marxism this year to look at Obama’s first year and a half in power and the response it has drawn from the US right. He will also introduce a discussion around identity, the subject of his new book.

“The right to bear arms shall not be infringed”. The word “shall” carries the force of law. The government, bound by the Constitution, is required to abide by the law, period. May the powers to be ignore Constitutional law at their own peril. If they break the laws, they pay the price.

The Guardian UK is the most anti-American newspaper over the Atlantic. They’re editors even idiotically tried to arrest Dick Cheney so don’t bunch this ass-wipe excuse of a newspaper for the Brits in general.

In California there is no 2nd amendment. “Bear arms” I think means to actually carry them, not keep them locked in a safe in your house, which is about the only way you can have guns in this crazy state.

After reading the (typically, I’m sorry to say) supercilious anti-gun screed of this resident Brit, and quite a few of the comments that followed by his countrymen, I’m reminded of an encounter I had with one of our allies:
Me (paraphrasing my creaky memory): “In this country we consider ourselves to be citizens, with express rights enumerated in our Constitution. You guys have no written Constitution and still consider yourselves to be `subjects.’”
His response: “I don’t consider myself to be a subject.”
My reply: “Then I charge you with treason to the crown and award you the title of `Honorary American’.”

As much as I value our alliance with our cousins, this was probably my favorite comment:
“Isn’t the Atlantic Ocean wonderful?”

This is my favorite 22 of all time, Ruger sr22 which is a 10/22 fully outfitted with AR-15 parts. On a bipod with a red dot site you can put bullets through the same hole @ 50 yds.

Constitution trumps state’s rights. California has gone off the deep end. People are leaving the state of nuts and flakes in droves. California is the result of left wing politics gone horribly wrong. Unfortunately, there’s still a lot of good people there who are stuck in the middle of all of the liberal crap.
