“Dear Friends:

It is with a heavy, but hopeful heart that I share with you that it appears our friend, brother, and founder will soon be home with the Lord. Chuck’s condition took a decided turn yesterday, and the doctors advised Patty and the family to gather by his bedside.

Wellllllll

when I read the headline to the ping . . .

my immediate feeling was that his time had come.

Sad for us. Good for him.

No more OThuga beleagured Republic for him.

Only THE KINGDOM OF OUR LORD AND KING HERE ON OUT for him.

PRAISE GOD.

He fought the good fight his latter years.

He bore much fruit.

PRAISE GOD.

PRAISE GOD.

Sigh . . .

Now for the rest of us . . .

The earth will be losing a multitude of Christians soon enough. I hope you're among us! :)

Amen. RAPTURE READY? I can't wait.

.....we should remember the bad along with the good.

If you're a Christian, does God? Does HE "remember" your evil? If you're one of his... NO! So why should we make a "special effort" remember what this man did? You want to throw rocks at folks, look in the mirror first. This man was one of the people most directly responsible for bringing ME to Jesus Christ after I read his first book. I'll always be grateful for that.

Prayers for the Colson family as they face this change in their lives. May the Lord, himself, walk with them.

If our Lord is calling Mr. Colson to his home in Heaven,
then his mission here is complete.

let there be Peace, and comfort for those he leaves behind for one day they will join him as we ALL will.

My prayer is that as he walks the lonely walk alone, through the Valley of Death, peace will be granted to him.

Soon he will be with is Savior:

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals he’s waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home;
ye who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tary when Jesus is pleading,
pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not his mercies,
mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
passing from you and from me;
shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
coming for you and for me.
(Refrain)

O for the wonderful love he has promised,
promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
pardon for you and for me.
(Refrain)

See you on the Other Side, Chuck!

How terribly sad for his family and friends. I’ll be praying for them. After so many years of faithful service to God and man, may he enjoy his reward eternally.

“...we should remember the bad along with the good.”

Why?

God doesn’t remember repented sin, washed in the Blood of the Lamb. Why should I?

How many years does a man need to live a transformed life before folks accept he was born again - a new creation?

For my part, I thank God for the example Chuck Colson set.

“Who would dare to accuse us, whom God has chosen? The judge himself has declared us free from sin. Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us!

Can anything separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble, pain or persecution? Can lack of clothes and food, danger to life and limb, the threat of force of arms? Indeed some of us know the truth of the ancient text: ‘For your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter’.

No, in all these things we win an overwhelming victory through him who has proved his love for us.

I have become absolutely convinced that neither death nor life, neither messenger of Heaven nor monarch of earth, neither what happens today nor what may happen tomorrow, neither a power from on high nor a power from below, nor anything else in God’s whole world has any power to separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord!” - Romans 8
