TRUE COLORS TIME (or Don't Let Newt Down)

TRUE COLORS TIME

If you listened closely to Sarah tonight on Levin’s program, she was pretty much endorsing Romney. I suspect she will hold her cards, won’t jump into the fray until the convention, where she will get maximum exposure for her particular agenda. And then she will play the good citizen role and support Romney. I’ve been worried about her since she showed up so ungraciously during the summer to rain on the parade of some of the more conservative candidates…

The same applies to her as everyone else... Not fighting, not helping Newt right now, is the same as voting for Obama.

I want you to think about something... if all these people, who call themselves conservative, who want to be thought of as conservative, all joined together – from Limbaugh – to Sarah – to Bachmann, and all the others – and in one voice said, No, we won’t, and worked their hearts out for Newt, starting this moment right now - instead of CYAing it; there would be no doubt who the next President would be. It would be Newt. It will still be Newt. But look what they are doing, look at the maneuvering, the shifting, the caving. In the space of a week the conservative world – political and otherwise – has become a cluster of Bart Stupak clones.

Even Santorum, what did he do? Faced with possible/probable defeat, he caved, he ran home. He didn’t like the amount of debt he was accumulating. He couldn’t see the math allowing him victory. So. He. Quit.

How does Mark Levin – any of them – ever complain about or criticize Boehner again? Or McConnell, or the Republican establishment? They are just as weak and spineless, just as compromised now.

True Colors Time.

America flickers, a lighthouse about to be engulfed by darkness. People are folding caving collapsing all around us, and we are being chided for not being realists…

Realists on the banks of the Delaware would have tried to convince those First Patriots it was too cold, too dark, too much ice; the pragmatic thing was to wait for another day when conditions were better, the risks not so great…

Exactly who is behaving like George Washington right now? And who are the cowards?

Next time..

Four years from now, they will look back and call these times carefree, like the play of children. It will never be easier than it is right now. Next time, it will be harder. Where will the repurposed courage come from then?

It is always going to require biting down hard while terror circuits through you – facing annihilation; not facing impossible mathematical odds, facing annihilation.

Who will there be then to face down the kind of raw fear that cakes the back of the throat and jellies out muscles and nerves? Who? And where will they be found?

They have Newt now... experienced, battle hard, for the most part fearless, doesn’t know how to quit. There is no one else now; there never was. There will be no one else the next time, if there is a next time; because next time, not even a Newt will be sufficient.

The fainting conservatives see the GOP establishment, its power, everywhere and deep, arrayed around them, able to twist events and turn people to their will – the same way that American soldier saw the British fleet in Boston Harbor - as if all of London was afloat before his eyes.

Yet they carried on. A rag tag bunch, one step ahead of annihilation. It should be a song in your hearts by now.

They carried on and today I am writing to you about them. And their True Colors Time. I know everyone around us is fainting, finding excuses for fainting, trying to make their fainting seem purposed - or holy - pragmatic. But, they are still just fainting.

Fret not.

Faint not.

Fear not.

NEWT GINGRICH... The Last Conservative Standing. He Deserves Your Very Best.

I don’t like any of the candidates; but they are trying to suck the life out of another one in the way of the one they want; not who we want.

I would say everyone vote for Newt not that he is any better; but get rod of Soros and Obama.

I think you pretty much summed it up perfectly.

Nonsense. It was clear to everyone that she supported Newt. If he fell into third place in the running, and now may not be able to head Mitt off at the pass, that certainly wasn’t her fault.

Newt Gingrich couldn’t run a campaign for dog catcher, much less President.

Palin voted for him and stood by him, but when Newt got firebombed by Romney after South Carolina, Newt didn’t fight back. That’s all Palin needed to know about Gingrich.

Good candidates don’t need to depend on grants from billionaire bundlers to keep them going; people donate to them en masse. It didn’t happen with Newt.

He means well; he’s just not it. Don’t blame Palin for that.

Best,

Chris

And you completely chose to not include the fact that in the primary I will indeed be voting for NOT Romney. You have no clue as to whether I am currently ‘on the battlefield’ or not. You are angry and fighting mad. Good direct that energy for all it is worth.

We will all see who the nominee is after the convention.

My commitment to making sure that O does NOT have a second term remains the same

How did she support him? She twice told people to vote for him. And voted for him in Alaska, but never mentioned it until AFTER the fact on Fox News that Night?

Has she made one appearance for him? Written one thing on her facebook page urging conservatives to vote for him? Has she done anything but utter 3 sentences about her empty support for him?

That's sufficient in what she and all the other so-called conservatives call the most important election of our lifetime? I love Sarah, have always supported her. But she is not behaving like a patriot... people can still love and support her, and see clearly enough when she is not standing on principles... cheeleading from teh sidelines isn't enough.

I have no Romney talking points. Just support Newt and if you can help him win the nomination, great. Quit with all the conspiracy theories which are based on what? The belief that some evil manipulation is underway unless Newt Gingrich is nominated?

Again, try helping your man win. Why isn’t he winning? Well, I have a wife here more conservative than me, hates Obama more, will not support Newt, dislikes Callista, admires Ann Romney. Imho opinion that’s what hurt Newt.

Listen, the only thing I ever post publicly here is stuff I hear from people I really trust. But that is what I am hearing, and what they are saying... more to prepare the people who love Sarah than anything else... but I wouldn't mind if they were wrong, bigtime... In fact, I pray they are wrong...

RE: dislikes Callista, admires Ann Romney...

Well, I am in total agreement with your wife. Callista isn't exactly my cup of tea... for many reasons. Though I have heard she is genuinely nice.

The point is - this election has to rise, atleast for the conservatives, on more than likability...

I am from a military family and my father once told me, sometimes only the bastards can get the job done...

I think we are at that time...

Waht you don't understand, or maybe you do - every person, not 99% or 95% - with an initial dislike of Newt, based on many things, including appearance, past, etc - every person I have gotten to sit down and watch at least one Newt video has switched to Newt... every single one. Some dems, some libs, some conservatives... many of them are working very hard for Newt right now, and some taking a lot of flack for it...

I don't think it's a conspiracy, I think the establishment GOP is doing exactly what they do best, taking conservatives, whom they mostly disrespect, and getting them to fall in line..

I am talking about fear, or failure to step up into the moment, which is now... there is still time to turn this around... that's all..

Thanks for supporting Newt! It's tough when your spouse doesn't agree, I know!!

Well as I recall Levin made it a point to tell his audience that he believed that Palin was running, then a month or so later she went on his show FIRST to announce she would not run. There is a thousand questions that could have been asked of her then, but she knew Levin would respond with only disappointment and praise which is why she picked him.

You bought the act. They always claim that they are conservatives first but some close observation and critical thinking would have shown you that they are Republicans first. There should be no surprise.

RE: "We will all see who the nominee is after the convention."

Don't you get it? romney is being treated as the nominee right now, by everyone in the conservative political and media world. The RNC plans to crown him on Friday, it doesn't matter about the convention. They want it wrapped up now, and the more they can plant that inevitability flag in people's minds, the less resistance there will be.

If you wait till the convention or afterwards, it will be Romney, that is the point I am making. This is the moment now, while there is still time..

Well, this is my first national election I am involved in, and I worked a lot in 2010, and it was just wonderful, and exhilirating.

Yes, I did buy the act. And it has been a painful learning experience. Levin surprised me most of all, that was heartbreaking to me. And now, I am afraid I am going to get to the point like a lot of people on FR, they don't trust anybody in politics, and are severely cynical.

I plan to finish the course with Newt, because I don't quit and I don't desert my captain or my ship. But I have had enough of this world of politics. It is just horrible.

How exactly did Palin stand by Newt? By uttering a few sentences that people should vote for Newt to keep it going until the primaries were over... I thought the last week or so, with the conservative cave, it's become pretty apparent that what conservatives say doesn't amount to anything...

You don't know what happened in Florida. You. do. not.know. and right now, I am too tired to go into it. I was in Florida, Newt survived an onslaught that no other political figure could have and never will again. And he is still out there trying.

I just do not understand how conservatives and alike will vote for Romney with all of the radical polices in which he set into law. It is like seeing the titanic going down. People are giving in and giving up to the media’s wants. If we all form a unity, we can stop the party from forcing Mitt upon us. All of these so called talk show pundits that made their wealth and fame on conservatism, left it when they need to fight along with those of us who are at the grassroots.

Learning is very important. Some never learn. I have been where you are,

I was like you in 1993 when Clinton took the WH with a Democrat congress, His agenda was gays in the military, a stimulus and Hillary-care, Rush gained his nation-wide fame in those days (the first) opposing him with his radio and TV show starting every day with ‘Day XXX America held hostage” a spoof of ABC Nightline during the Iranian Hostage crisis. It was truly a blast to listen to him in those days,

So the Democrats with all three branches in DC were brought down by Rush, a determined Republican minority and their own over-reaching. Dems lost the congress in a landslide in 1994 after 40 years of power. I stayed up that night till 3 am watching cable and News stations most in complete surprise, unlike 2010.

Those two years were the most exhilarating time to be a Republican.

But in 1995 they took control of the congress and ran into quick-sand Republican congress vs POTUS Clinton., The party was over, then came GWB.

I have seen this before and was not surprised.

I just posted an opinion elsewhere on a Cain thread, who today reportedly endorses Romney, addressing the GRANDE COP-OUT to retain fame and fortune and fu-fu life style.

The fall back phrase for the GRANDE COP-OUT is this one;
“ABO”!

My suggestion is that these so-called “conservatives” are BLING, as opposed to the real thing and they are showing themselves before the PRIMARY, a travesty! The primary is the last bastion of the people’s VOICE, and for any protest.

To avoid appearing TOO concervative when things get tough, we’re seeing “conservatives” falling over, caving in, and to the very cabal many of them collect paychecks to oppose!

Everyone wants to be a Paul Revere, but there is not a William Wallace among them, willing to go to the rack for freedom.

It’s so much easier to ride through the cobblestone streets on your conservative high horse sounding out, “Obama is coming”, “Obama is coming”, but then collapse and shut down the fight when it gets tough.

These people are making a choice. There choice is a preference for Romney’s sins over NEWT’s, which were but personal, hardly of national impact upon the people. Of the two, only one repented and reformed.

Go figure.

Newt was never for abortion, gay marriage, mandating socialism and charging the Catholic Church for the abortion provided in it, in MA, etc., etc.

The primary is our last moment for protest.

Obama and Romney. Evil and Evil Lite. What kind of choice is that. There is no excuse for a socialist to be a nominee of the Republican Party.

After all, there is a GOD. We should be supporting Newt and trusting God for the rest. Instead, we’re going with a wing and a prayer that Romney will “save” us, thinking he has the best chance to beat Obama and leaving God out of it.

IF, perhaps, just IF, this is a test from God—we’re definitely failing it. In spades.
