Fearful Final Hours for Briton in China

The day before his death in the fog-shrouded Chinese city of Chongqing, Neil Heywood sensed that something was amiss.

The British businessman had been summoned on short notice to a meeting in Chongqing in early November with representatives of the family of Bo Xilai, the local Communist Party chief, according to an account by a friend whom Mr. Heywood contacted at the time. Mr. Heywood told the friend he was "in trouble."

After he flew to Chongqing, he tried to telephone his usual contacts but couldn't get through to any of them, according to the friend. He was left waiting alone in his hotel room for instructions.

Mr. Heywood felt he had reason to be nervous, although he had taken steps to protect himself. He had told the same friend earlier that he had left documents detailing the overseas investments of Mr. Bo's family with his lawyer in Britain as an "insurance policy" in case anything happened to him.

He had also told friends that he was concerned about his safety after falling out with Mr. Bo's wife, Gu Kailai, who he said knew about the documents and was convinced she had been betrayed by someone in the family's "inner circle" of friends and advisers.

I suspect there are many foreigners like this fellow, risking their lives by dancing with devils.

Besides death packaged with Red China exported food products..
Items (Just two of a myriad)
Red China controls rare earth market, limits availability / sets prices
Red China supplies 80+ percent of Vitamin C, controls availability / fixes prices

Bo I think is a popular Maoist. I hope he leads a peoples' revolution like Mao did and brings down the whole corrupt, criminal caboodle.

.. but no TARP for "American" corporations ("useful idiots" suckered in by Deng's version of Lenin's NEP) losing their butts in the turmoil..

If there is revolution in Red China and it becomes even redder with another Bamboo Curtain does that mean they will never pay us the trillions they owe us for all the intellectual property and technology they extorted and stole?

or :) have they already paid us?

I am wondering now how much truth their was to the stories of a possible coup attempt back in March? As emotionally unstable as Mr Bo's wife was, is it possible that she and her inner circle were trying to get themselves out of jail? There is so much happening over there right now with Housing bubble bursting, economy on the decline, issues with Phillipines, etc...

Thoughts?

Amazing isn’t it? Barack Obama also did the same to his beloved Toot when she “suddenly” passed.

This has all the makings of one of those 20-part mini-series that are so popular on Chinese TV

The main character is the grasping, calculating and corrupt wife of a pliant and hoodwinked high official, who eventually succumbs to her corruption. She’s got lackey’s in his office who are in on her schemes, which even involve murder. Meanwhile, there is the loyal, clean and heroic Communist Party investigator who is trying to gather information on the crimes of her and her husband.

A beautiful young secretary of the wife’s inner-circle falls in love with the dashing investigator, yet he is too honest and dedicated to the Party to return her unrequited love. The secretary eventually provides him the evidence he needs, but she is killed by the wife in the end (cut to the young woman coughing up blood as she passes away in her beloved’s arms)

Now all I need is a theme-song.....

Set this story in Tang imperial court, it makes a classic imperial soap opera.
