Aymanal-Zawahiri, who had long served as bin Laden’s deputy and al-Qaeda’s ideological adviser and took over the leadership after Bin Laden was killed, was a top leader in Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and was jailed as one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood's successful plot to assassinate Anwar Sadat. Zawahiri was released from prison on amnesty provided he left the country to fight the Russians in Afghanistan, no doubt with the hope and expectation that he would end up getting killed by the Russians.
He and Bin Laden then founded Al Queda to take the fight to the West after the Russians left the country

Remember 2 weeks ago when MegaMillions was at $600,000,000 and Americans started to try to conceive how they could possibly spend that much money. Well this was 3 times the figure (they ain’t gettin’ a 20 year check) and the public just shrugs.
Next explain to them just how many half-billion MegaMillion jackpots the national debt would take to pay off.
