Where did he split the vote and cost Newt a state?

I’m not a sir, perhaps not even a lady, but I am female.

After Pennsylvania, if Santorum doesn’t win, and it’s not looking good, he will have to bow out.

If I adored Santorum as much as I did Rick Perry, I’d be in the fight on camp, even if it looked impossible... but I don’t adore him.

It’s statiscally possible that Santorum could win but he would have to win over 70% of the remaining states. That’s not looking possible.

As for me giving up, well Texas hasn’t voted yet and I will probably vote for Santorum if he’s still in.

But right now, I’m voting Not Obama, and hope everyone else does also.

>> The impulsive base, jumped on Santorum before they even had a clue about who or what he was.

>> There is this persistent block of voters that will waste time and energy on silly candidates

You’re both correct. It’s moral vanity.

My apologies Ma’am.

I would like to see santorum stay in until the convention, to give people the option of a not Romney/not Obama. Especially with Texas. We have a real opportunity to give a shot to Romney by casting him out and supporting Santorum strongly.

You argument is pointless, since there is pretty much no chance for Santorum to win the nomination.

You can argue all day long and probably will. But reality has already taken charge of the race and there is nothing you can do about that by incessant argument, just for the sake of argument.

Therefore, I have better things to think about, than to sit here all day and answer your pointless/meaningless questions. This is not a discussion or contest to prove who is right or wrong. It is merely an admission to the current reality of where the 2012 Primary is currently at.

At what point in the primaries did you awake?

If Newt had substantial leads over all the candidates well before Rick appeared on radar, how is Newt responsible for splitting the vote?

If you recall, the indignant ones made it clear during Newt’s lead they would not support “the cheater” — instead they decided to split the vote and choose “the whiner”.

You’ve already answered. Thank you for your time.

Again, which state did Santorum split the vote such that Newt could have won?

Name me a state please!

But Newt! People who think the election is all about THEM aren’t going to vote!

Just like every election.

Never mind.

Yes, you’re right. This site is dominated by the destructive hard right, almost certainly with at least a few Dem operatives in here to sow division.

Again, what is your point? The FACTS are, the race is what it is, where it is, and all the arguing in the World won't change that reality. The blame for who split what, is also pointless and meaningless and won't change the outcome.

It no longer matters and there is equal blame to go around to all sides. What matters now, is how do we beat Obama, with who we have left? And it is pretty much a formality from here on out.

Every state since Florida.

It’s a simple question. Yes or no. Do you believe that the federal government has the obligation to protect the unborn just as they do everyone else?

If you sincerely believe no, then say so. If yes, then say so.

“And it is pretty much a formality from here on out.”

So you’re willing to quit? Some of us are gonna keep fighting. With or without you. We’d like you on board, but if you don’t want to fight, that’s a disappointment.

We need every good man we can get.

My favorite way to describe them is by saying; “These are the people who have gone so far to the Right, that they came back out on the Left.”

Santorum has beaten Newt in every state since Florida, save Nevada. So what you are saying is that Newt is splitting, not Santorum.

Unless you believe the tail should wag the dog.

No, I have not quit at all, I have already voted for Newt, for my next move, I will vote for who ever we put up against Obama. If that is Larry the Cable Guy, or even my dog, I will crawl through mine fields and broken glass to get to the polls in order to be rid of Obama!

No sense arguing in circles since it’s unlikely we’ll agree on the reasons that caused the fracture.

The assumption that Rick would benefit from Newt’s departure is based on weak data. Also, Newt hoped to derail Romney’s nomination by forcing a brokered convention.
