Gov Cristie flew the flag at half staff for this lost soul. Has he done this for any of our fallen Servicemen and Women?

Don't trip over your outrage and fall head first into a tub of scalding water: "... every fallen service member from New Jersey has received the honor during [Christie's] administration."

Actually, yes. New Jersey does fly the flag at half mast for New Jersey fallen heroes.
That said, flying the flag at half mast for a pop star is ludicrous. There is no equivalency.

What next? Half mast for Bon Jovi? Springsteen? Did New Jersey fly the flag at half mast for Sinatra?
Or, did Whitney Houston's death present a special opportunity to pander? Enquiring minds want to know.
