NEW YORK — NBC News has fired a producer for editing a recording of George Zimmerman’s call to police the night he shot Trayvon Martin, a person with direct knowledge of the matter said Saturday.
The person was not authorized to talk about the situation publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity. The identity of the producer was not disclosed.

Maybe we, the discerning Public, need a media offenders registration database so we know who in the "free press" has falsified records, perpetuated a fraud on the Public and eroded the Public Trust by shaping a story.
I think under every "reporter," particularly of political news coverage, it should be known what political connection they have, who they clerked for, who they were on staff with, what White House they worked in.

Update at 4:18 p.m. ET: The law enforcement official who spoke to AP said that Zimmerman is not in Florida but that authorities know where he is. They are planning to arrest him soon rather than let him surrender.
Sounds like the charges will be something stronger than violating city noise ordinances.
