Right, so why worry about "stopping" Romney from becoming the awful Dole-ish "I was conservative in the primaries, but that was just to fool the rubes" MOR-stripe-hugger in the general? Sometimes, you have to let bad men show everybody how bad they are, and that includes the Walking Gods who send articles over to the Washtington Times and NRO to be published for consumption by the rabble.

While I agree with your thinking mostly, and agree that Romney would appoint more Souters to the Supreme Court (rather than Obama's Kagans -- so what?), I feel obliged to point out that being a minoritarian president didn't stop Slick Willie from pushing Hillarycare and midnight basketball (gun-ban list, which btw is still operative in part, the Dems spread the pieces around to avoid the sunsetting clause for some of their goodies).
Still, the Justices Romney would appoint would be, if less toxic, less likely nevertheless to be opposed by conservatives and other Republicans in the Senate, as Kagan should have been opposed.
Texas doesn't get a say at all, and it's THE biggest Republican State, with 55 delegates.
The 'Rats sued over redistricting and kept everybody in court (despite a bitch-slapping by SCOTUS that they had a bad beef) until Texas had to move their primary back to May 29 -- MAY 29TH!! It might as well be in 2013. Which was the whole idea.

Eh, it’s what the Republican electorate wanted.
They didn’t want a New York liberal with a big mouth in Donald Trump.
They didn’t want a shrill fibber in Michelle Bachmann.
They didn’t want a 10th amendment loving states-righter that stumbled over his own mouth in Rick Perry.
They didn’t want someone itching to give the Federal government the ability to institute a sales tax in Herman Cain.
They didn’t want an anti-Semitic nutbag in Ron Paul.
They didn’t want a hypocritical, santimonious little church-lady in Santorum.
They didn’t want a smart, but egotistical candidate that has made some bad decisions in Newt.
And so all that’s left is Romney, which everyone tried to forget about.
The closest we got to the perfect candidate was Perry, but somehow everyone jumped all over him about his immigration stance. You know, the stance that was the same as every other candidate’s?
Yeah, I know it doesn’t make sense. But that’s what our fellow conservatives did. And I might add that about 2/3rds of the most virulent of the attackers are now Santorum supporters.
Which let me know just what their ideals are. (IE: big government, high taxes, and federal mandates enforcing their version of morality - completely forgetting what’ll happen when they are out of power; ie: what Obama’s ilk could do with that power)
So they are people that cannot live without someone telling them what to do and how to think. Or, in essence, a slave. They may not wear physical chains, but they are desperate to have mental ones. And even more desperate to enslave everyone else.
Just like a liberal.

The RINOs may get the nomination; however, they will not get the House, the Senate, and the state & local races.
The difference is Eric Holder.

And the RINOS in Congress roll over for obama and accept or approve his liberal judicial and government appointees rather than fighting “tooth and nail”!.
I’m voting conservatives ONLY! And Romney is no conservative.
George Soros has said that there is no difference between BHO2 and Romney.
One is a communist (Marxist-Leninist) and the other a fascist (national socialist). Both believe government is God and neither has any respect for the U.S.Constitution.
Neither gives a damn about the rights of individuals. The common man, or woman, on the street is just a “unit” to be taxed or obliterated, it matters not to them.
The last thing that either man wants is for conservatives with Bibles and guns asserting their God-given rights and demanding that Washington, D.C., changes how it does business.
What I’ve just described above pretty much says why so many here on Free Republic are sick at heart over this election.
Then, the RATS and GOP-Es have won.
There is seven months between now and November. In politics that can be a lifetime and anything can or will happen.
Romney might drop dead from a heart attack.
Obama can’t get on the ballot in states demanding to see eligibility records.
Terrorists set off suitcase nukes in major cities, killing some of the candidates.
Who knows what could happen!
Though some of the things mentioned above seem far fetched, it really is true that elections, particularly national elections, are difficult to predict.
