Where the intruders were identified, most were young black males, including two who invaded the home of a young mother and tried to break into the bedroom she had locked herself into with her infant son. This must have been a terrifying experience, but it was not of interest to the MSM. Zimmerman met with the woman afterward.

That is, over the 30-year period, African-Americans committed murder at about 7.33 times the white rate.
Of homicides committed by strangers, on average, 18.77% involved blacks killing whites, while in 5.08% of the cases, whites killed blacks. African-Americans were therefore nearly 3.7 times more likely to kill a white than a white to kill a black.
To provide some raw numbers, in 2005, the last year for which the DOJ statistics are available, 10,285 African-Americans committed murders. As 8.8% of these were "black on white," there were, assuming only one death per murderer, 905 whites killed, almost 2.5 per day...

This statistic is even bleaker than it first appears. It’s not old black men or women. It’s not boys or girls under about 12. It’s not, for the most part, young black women. It’s young black males typically around 15 to 30 doing most of the violent crime, not just murder. If the whole black population is 13% of the US population, the young black males committing most of the crime are probably only 3-4% of the US population. This should be considered inexcusable.
I think this is the problem: “African-Americans”.
That liberal-designed-to-destroy moniker, has destroyed an entire generation’s national identity.
It should be: Americans (who just happen to be Black, if any further detail is somehow required).

(Note to MtBaldy - this rant isn't directed at you, specifically) First, I dislike the whole race angle this article goes into. The racist angle only incites the race-baiters that much more. Let other people delve into the racial aspects, we should be more concerned with the facts of the Trayvon case.
However, let's look at how young black males are depicted by one of the most influential elements in our society - TV and Movies. They are almost always depicted as thugs, drug dealers and criminals. This depiction, to a LOT of inner city folks who have NO other insight into life, becomes the role model of what they think they are supposed to be.
We always hear about role models - from athletes to politicians to "celebrities" and the largest majority of those are white. The ones that aren't, typically jump into racist politics because that's what they think they are supposed to do.
I would bet that if Hollyweird were to stop depicting young black males as being crooks and showed them in a more positive light, within 10 years we would see significant changes in prison populations.
It's something to consider.

Hollyweird does show blacks in a positive light-the recent trend in movies has been to show the black character as the hero, the genius, the only person with humanity and compassion, the saviour of all the bumbling whites or the enemy of the evil whites. What Rush calls “the magic negro”. When will blacks be responsible for their own actions? Other races have been shown in all possible characterisations in movies, books, etc, and don’t have the disproportionate dysfunction of the black community.
what the article failed to point out is wherever you go in this world you always know when you have crossed the line and are in the black part of town!
As much as I despise the sewage that comes out of Hollywood, and the TV networks in general, there is no amount of change that they could make that would change this situation. The root of the matter is man's sin nature. When your parent(s), family, friends, and almost everyone you know have been welfare slaves for generations (thanks to LBJ's 'Great Society'), a natural reaction is to create your own counter culture to create some feeling of self-worth. Something to appeal to our ego or pride. You become a blameless victim, and someone else is to blame else for your situation. It is not your fault that you don't do well in school, or don't have a job. It is 'whitey's fault'. If any of your neighbors try to study hard -- you chastise them as 'acting white', and beat them down until they adopt your counterculture. Rather than earning respect through humility and positive actions, you 'create' it by accusations and destructive behaviour.
The only solution is the same solution for all of us sinners: Christ. Forgiveness ('and be ye kind, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ's sake, has forgiven you'), and an understanding that whatever position we have been put in is to serve the God who loved us so much that He sent His only Begotten Son to bare our sins and punishment.
The solution would be Churches that preach Christ Crucified and Risen Saviour... Unfortunately too many of the churches in these wastelands preach something akin to the Reverend Wright, and 'Father' Pilfiger's form of blasphemy that worship man (skin color over Christ). Without a marked change, I just see continued de-evolution...
I don’t dismiss the influence of family . . . . OR faith but, when you analyze the complexity of these4 folks’ lives, they are taught that they have little to look forward to unless they can play sports or rap. If both of those are out, based on how they see themselvesa depicted, what’s left is crime; unless they are very, very lucky.
Many years ago, there was a cop in Dallas who worked the inner city and he started a program to take inner city kids to businesses so they could see what people do to earn money. One kid liked to draw but never believed that the could get a job drawing until he was introduced to a drafter at an electronics company. This is the kind of change that these kids need to change their future.
Hollyweird DOES occasionally portray blacks in positive roles but, the majority of roles are thugs, murderers and drug dealers. The fact is that, before zero, none of them believed that they could ever get very far in this society if they don't make it in sports or in entertainment.
Try putting yourself in their shoes for a moment where the most common portrayal you see of yourself is as a criminal 24/7. Then you catch the TV news and there are more people who look like you being arrested or convicted of a crime.
We can only change the messages they hear and see by taking an active part in making sure that that happens. The race-baiters tell them that whites are the reason that they can't get very far. They tell them that whites are the only people genetically disposed toward racism. Pretend that's you for a week, or even a day, and maybe you'll get a sense of what they are up against.

Are you kidding? Have you watched any network prime time television lately?
Blacks are almost always portrayed in positions of authority and respect. They are shown as the wise, the good, the successful, the benevolent in almost all of the PC krap produced for television. I partially blame this relentless pc portrayal of blacks as the doers, the leaders, and the givers for Obama’s election. The reality of most of black America is nowhere near the rosy portrayal the media projects. It’s been said, and I think it’s a partial truth, that affirmative action created the black middle class. Trayvon Martin is the latest outrage but Hollyweird has been misrepresenting blacks for decades.
Don’t watch much prime time tv myself, but this is certainly the impression you get from commercials during games. If you didn’t know otherwise, you’d also guess that African-Americans were about 50% of the population, and definitely the brighter, cooler, more successful half.
Yep, makes me want to puke sometimes. Every now and then I could live with it but it’s constant and relentless and so blatantly false.
Oh, and for those just itching to call me a “racist”, I’m not. I’m a realist.
I would throw your first sentence back to you. Unfortunately, I DO watch TV (although, increasingly, I try not to) and don't see the same thing that you do. I agree that in SOME shows, they are trying to portray blacks in a more positive light, but the majority remains prostitutes for the women and gangsters for the males.
Even black directors will portray black males as gangsters and the stereotype is growing old.
