President Obama, employing his strongest language to date on the Supreme Court review of the federal health care overhaul, cautioned the court Monday against overturning the law -- while repeatedly saying he's "confident" it will be upheld.

A 7th-grader could tell you the Supreme Court has the power to overturn an act of Congress.
This is alarming because of the mindset behind it. HE’s in charge, and what HE says, goes. Separation of Powers doesn’t apply in his mind if it opposes his will.

I wonder if he could tell us what, specifically, is "unprecedented" about the supreme court overturning a law passed by our "democratically elected congress".
ALL federal laws, by definition, have been passed by a majority of a democratically elected congress; otherwise they wouldn't BE laws. And I KNOW the supreme court has overturned at least one federal law at some point in the past...
Obama was elected on Hope and Change with many people not even knowing who he is.
Of course the President feels the Supreme Court should defer to him. After all, He Won.
President Barack Obama voiced confidence Monday that the Supreme Court will uphold his health care law in his first public remarks on the issue since the three days of oral arguments last week.
Obama suggested that the high court would be guilty of “judicial activism” if it overturned the law, and stressed that he believed the justices would see the individual mandate as an integral part of the law.
“We are confident that this will be upheld because it should be upheld,” Obama said at a joint news conference with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

President Obama preemptively slammed the Supreme Court as a bunch of "unelected group of people" who will have turned to "judicial activism or a lack of judicial restraint" if they decide to strike down his signature legislative achievement, the healthcare reform act.
Obama was speaking at a trilateral event with the Prime Minister of Canada and President of Mexico.

If they put down his law he’ll unleash the dogs of war. He will take next step and convince everyone that this whole Supreme Court thing just isn’t working.

Oh, maybe he won’t say it. Can’t get his hands dirty. But he’ll let all the right people know. Time to pull the pin on this revolution. It’s what the Marxists and communists have been waiting all their lives for. And he’s ready to do it. He’s ready to take his place as the One who makes it happen. Maybe even before November if it looks like he’s running out of time.
IMO,he is not ignorant, he is speaking to the ignorant who think in sound bites.
He knows he has 4 votes on his side—his two picks, and Bill Clinton’s two picks. He needs one more—I don’t know if this kind of stunt can intimidate any of the remaining 5. Hopefully none of them is vulnerable to blackmail.
